“a good hotel,but i expected more...”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 25, 2012

A great hotel with a very good location in the town of mykonos.
pros: Location,Price,Servise.
cons:When you come back from town ,there is a very steep climb to the hotel so you should be fit or with a taxi.
2.when reach the hotel the are a lot of stairs and no one to help you with the lugguage.
3.the pictures on the web site show a different reallity . the rooms seemed bigger the pool seemed bigger etc......

Room Tip: pay more for a superior room it is bigger and may look like in the website.

We have just spent 4 days at this hotel. Booked online from London, so I wasn't sure about what to expect. I was so pleasantly surprised as soon as we got there. We had been travelling for nearly 2 months so when we arrived we were presented with a cold fresh orange juice while we waited for our bags. The hotel is fantastic, clean, bright and staff are wonderful. The rooms were very spacious for 3 people and each room has it's own little verandah to sit and enjoy the view over the mediteranean.
Breakfast was fantastic, best so far on our trip. The staff will also cook you eggs anyway and bacon. The mini bar was free and stocked daily which is amazing for any hotel.
The hotel itself was well maintained and clean. The beds are so comfy, pillows a little high and hard. Air con in all rooms but the power surges on the island is troublesome. So you need to turn the air con back on each time the power goes out.
This little hotel is just up the hill (500 paces) from the main town. Its fine going down but coming back up can be tough. Taxi is only 4 euros to get you back up if your feeling lazy.
Overall I absolutely love this place. It's a credit to the staff and management. Will come back if I come back to mykonos

Room Tip: All the rooms seem to have a sea view and verandah, except for room 111. We had 115 and it was great

The hotel is a ten-fifteen minute walk from Mykonos town (so it is nice and quiet) with great views of the bay. You can have a relaxed beer with a view of the bay/town/windmills

The rooms, though comfortable, are a bit cramped.

They have a swimming pool and WiFi

The promised airport transfer did not arrive. Our family had to arrange and pay for our own taxi to the hotel. Then the response of the hotel manageress was one of complete indifference. She never apologised, offered an explanation or refunded the taxi fare. In our two months of travel across Europe we never encountered another such lack of service and hospitality.

Friendly hotel a few minutes away from the downtown where the main touristic activity is.
sufficiently far away from the town noises at night (but not away from the other customers of the hotel which think that they are alone here, whatever the time of the night).
Unfortunate that there is no restaurant inside the hotel, it's mandatory to walk down to the city center to have lunch and diner.

The goods in the mini-bar offered free during all the stay is an unusual attention, very useful (especially when you have just climbed back the long and steep street at midday).

The air con of the room 119 is noisy.
The quality of the view from the rooms is very inconstant depending of the room number, the one from our terrace was rather nice.

Note: the hotel shuttle from the airport is a white van used also by several other hotels, this means that this shuttle moves continuously between these hotels, the airport and the ferries harbour. It doesn't come specially for you and will go away without you if you don't have recognized it, mainly on the afternoon or in the evening because the afternoon's driver is a despicable man which treat you as ware (he doesn't hésitate to shout on you when he speaks to you, whereas he is on the phone and the van stereo is at the maximum level).
On the other hand, the morning driver is contrariwise especially punctual, kind and always ready to help you.

Trick for the diner:
I recommend the Antonini's restaurant terrace, located on the left background of the taxi station square at the old port, friendly family atmosphere, full card with soft price meals, served very quickly.

I was just in Mykonos, Greece and stayed at Madalena Hotel. After reading the reviews on this site, I wasn't exactly sure what to expect. But, it far exceeded my expectations. First of all, every single room has a view of the ocean. Second, it is only a 5-7 minute walk to town. Third- and most important is the staff!! Elena will probably greet you upon arrival and is so incredibly nice and accommodating! She gave us great tips on where to go, what to see, and where to rent scooters from. Another woman who works there is Madalena- she is great!! And the hotel is named after her. She gave us great tips on the best beaches, restaurants and nightlife. It couldn't have been a better spot for us and when we are back in Mykonos, we will definitely stay there. Finally- the breakfast. Wow!! So much delicious food. Not at all like a continental breakfast in the US. They cook omelettes to order, not that you will need them with all of the other things they have. Scrambled eggs, omelettes, crepes, etc...delicious. In a word, Madalena is perfect!

Room Tip: There really are no bad rooms!

I stayed at this hotel for my first visit to Mykonos. I had searched the web for hotels and as there were so many i was not sure which to decide upon but eventually made my choice. I am so GLAD that i chose this hotel. It was close to the town ( although a fairly steep hill on the way back to the hotel) which meant that you could walk to the restaurants and shops. The room was nice and large and had a great view of the sea. The breakfast in the morning was basic BUT was absolutely tasty and served by nice and friendly staff. The staff overall were all very helpful with everything. The free internet and free mini bar made it extra special. I would highly recommend this hotel for a stay in Mykonos. ( the only negative would be that there was no beach close to the hotel which meant a bus ride or tax ride)
