Our hotel kindly reserved us a table on the romantic balcony, but we opted to eat indoors as the wind and sea spray had not subsided at that point... Not the end of the world though. The service was warm and welcome which made up for any lost expectations. We ordered a local Sauvignon blanc from Chora region which was well balanced, well priced and a good accompaniment to the fried calamari and grilled octopus staters. Both starters were fresh, smacking of the sea, well prepared and tasty.... I considered having another plate of the calamari instead of dessert as it was so good.
We were quite surprised at the presentation of our mains, although we ordered pasta, mixed seafood and vongole, it arrived looking like a huge plate of shellfish and a plate plentiful of clams respectively. Very rustic, very tasty with spaghetti cooked to perfection which had also absorbed the great flavours of the seafood sauces. We can only advise that the clams were very small, tasty little things but there were around 100 of them on the plate. If you have the patience to pick each one and leisurely prod, suck, lick and slurp through the meal, it is very gratifying, but would not recommend on a first date... We weren't, so it was family style eating for us.
We shared a chocolate mousse which was tasty but more like a chocolate cream with chocolate sauce.
All in all a very nice experience with a few giggles about the clams. Would definitely go back.
