“WONDERFUL GREEK FOOD”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 7, 2014

Had lunch here while on a shore excursion. We sat next to a Greek lady who lives in the US and she recommended what to eat. We had grilled calamari, baked vegetables in garlic tomato sauce, and baked white beans in tomato sauce. All selections were excellent, and the grilled calamari was exquisite. The service was quick even though it was lunch and they were crowded. There is a cover charge for the bread and sparkling water. I guess this is a European custom since we paid a cover charge at restaurants in Venice. It was not excessive. It was a wonderful experience and cannot wait to go there again.

“WHY do you do this???”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 6, 2014

The food here is very good, and this was to be a 5* review...UNTIL we got our bill.

First-time tourists to Greece beware: It is standard practice for [many] restaurants to present bread and bottled water on you being seated. This is (usually) NOT free-of-charge. IF you want this...great. If you don't, then send it away...but DO CHECK YOUR BILL, because many will "have a lapse in memory" and charge you for these items you did not have.
THIS is precisely what happened at this restaurant, and trying to get this taken off our bill (and the sour-puss look at our "discovering it being added" to our account), spoiled our outing.
WHY do this?? Why NOT break away from the scammer restaurants and concentrate on supplying your great food instead.

“Authentic and good!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 5, 2014

Recommended to us by a local, not really out of the way, while no view of the sea, but not in the usual "tourist" area. Food was very good, portions generous, friendly staff, crowded. Had the hummas(quite good), eggplant, greek salad, and stuffed tomatoes were all tasty. Reasonably priced.

“Three nights in a row”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 4, 2014

This is another one that looks like a tourist trap, but do not be deceived by appearances. The food is very good, it is reasonably priced (particularly given it is so close to the iconic Paraportiani Church) and the service is very efficient. There are lots of tables in this place and you just do not have to "wait" for your food. We ate here three nights in a row - it was that good. We particularly liked the mussels in garlic and tomato sauce and the grilled seafood mix.

“Overated”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed July 3, 2014

Went here because it was recommended by our hotel manager and showed good reviews on trip advisor. We went there twice. The first time we were there it was for late dinner. It was very busy so it we understood thst they forgot to place my husband's order of veal with pasta. I had the tarama which was ok, the eggplant salad which was amazing and the tomato and cucumber salad which had too more onions than cucumbers. It was decent so we decided to try again. Second time it was even worse. I had the fish souvlaki which came with rice. The rice was super dry as if it was a bit burnt and the brochette of fish with a few pieces of onion and green pepper was terribly dry, chewy and tasteless, not to mention expensive.
