Nice clean hotel, 10 minutes away from the town centre. Wonderful view.
The "lady of the house" - Michaela - was ever so friendly and helpful.
Greeet breakfast included in price ( 25 euro/room for 2 persons, including BF for 2)

The title says it all pretty much. The best thing about this place is the service. The hostess, Michaela is extremely sweet and very helpful. The location is also quite nice as it is relatively far enough from the town centre to be out of the hustle and bustle and close enough to be convenient. The rooms are basic, but are adequately equipped with all that you need including aircon. We were also lucky to have a terrace that overlooked the sea and mykonos city. It is literally across the road from the beach and 5-10min walk from town. The breakfast was lovely - especially the view! Thank you all for a great stay here - we thoroughly enjopyed it!

Room Tip: Rooms near the top (room 7 i think?)

The hotel is conviniently located close to the beach, however if you are not up for climbing stairs that's not for you. The room was super small, but it had the Wi-Fi and the Greek MTV which compensated for all the crowdiness.
The balcony was looking straight at the other room balcony, so no privacy here at all.
The breakfast was the usual Mykonos/Hotel breakfast, with a very nice girl at the service area.
We only stayed one night since the flight arrived one day earlier, and in the other, bigger hotel that we moved into-there was no cable TV or Wi-Fi in the rooms.
And Akrotiraki has a very nice swimming pool!
So choose what you feel is more important.
Otherwise it's a decent 3 star hotel.

Thank you for sharing your impressions, it always helps us improve. We have ongoing renovation works in most of the rooms again this year and the property is much more fresh. We hope we'll have the chance to welcome you during this season and give you more reasons to enjoy than the price and the wi-fi. Hope to see you soon!

We stayed in a double room for one night in August because we decided to arrive in Mykonos a day earlier than planned and our other hotel was fully booked.

I thought the whole experience was very poor, especially because the rate was quite expensive! When we arrived, there was no one in reception for at least 30 minutes so we ended up finding our own room key and letting ourselves into the room. The room itself was fine but I wouldn't have wanted to stay for more than one night. Then we realized that the toilet didn't work at all, you would think someone would notice this while cleaning the room. The free breakfast was quite poor, basic toast and cereal. The location is 5 minutes from a beach but doesn't look like people visit that beach, and about 20 minute walk from town.

I wouldn't recommend this hotel as I am sure there are nicer places for the same amount of money.

Thank you for your useful input. It is always unpleasant to have a dissatisfied guest and our philosophy is to treat every guest as unique. Sometimes when all arrivals come at the same time, there might be a minor delay in the check-in procedure, yet this is rare; we can work in making it even less rare though. The rooms are thoroughly checked when prepared for check-in as in every property, there may have been a water-cut or even an unexpected last minute failure that might needed to be repaired, still we do have an appointed person for maintenance when such issues arise during the season and manage to resolve such problems timely. We respect the fact that you consider that your sole overnight at the guesthouse was not enjoyable and take your review as a further reason to improve, yet the proximity to the beach is no more than 20 steps and the walk to town no more than 10 minutes, while breakfast (which can definitely improve) is of a relatively wide variety for a small guesthouse. We really hope that you had a positive impression of Mykonos though, even though we failed to meet your expectations.

Location is ok, next to the beach and close to centre.
Room: At arrival they gave us room 14. I don't mind sharing a terrace with 1 or 2 other rooms but room 14 shares a terrace with reception and breakfastarea. With means that everybody treats your terrace as a communal area. After complaining we got another room which was ok (not great). No windows except in the door. The hotel and booking.com don't have their info correctly on the website. We booked not a budget but a 1 category higher (more expensive) room via booking.com and we got the worst room for the first night and a budget room for the other 3 nights.
The girl who manages the place tried to fix it all and did all she could. Breakfast was ok for the price you pay.

Room Tip: Be sure not to get 14 !

Thank you for taking the time to share your impressions. It is always unpleasant not to be able to meet a guest's expectations, yet our intention is to do so with every guest. It is true that the specific room is located next to the reception, yet for guests who usually are out on the beach throughout the day and return early in the evening, it is ideal, as it has a large furnished terrace with direct views to the sea and sunset. So, what seems to be a disadvantage at the time of check-in, is a great advantage at sunset and in the evening. Hope to have the chance to offer a better taste of Akrotiraki during your next stay.

We primarily chose the Akrotiraki based on value for money and location as we didn't want to be in the thick of things, yet still wanted to be within walking distance of Mykonos town. The hotel exceeded all expectations. Situated on an incline with sweeping views across the bay and Megali Ammos beach, the hotel is a leisurely 15 minute stroll to Mykonos town in one direction and another 15 mins or so in the other direction to Ornos, from where you can catch a water taxi to some of the other beaches.

While our room was fairly basic, it was more than adequate for our stay and very clean & comfortable. Breakfast was also quite sufficient, given the price, with a choice of cereal, cold meats, cheese, bread / toast / jams, boiled eggs, fruit juice, tea / coffee and sweet breads / cakes. My only concern was... no Greek yoghurt & honey :o)

However, what really made our stay great was the ever cheerful, friendly and helpful Mihaela - a perfect hostess.

If, as per some of the reviewers here, you are expecting 5 star service for 3 star value then maybe this is not the place for you. However if you are content to settle for clean, comfortable, cheerful service and good value for money then I highly recommend the Akrotiraki and will most definitely be staying here again on my return to Mykonos!

Miheala - many thanks for making us feel so welcome & at home!
