“3-star All inclusive? What a rip off!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed January 27, 2010

We booked this with First Choice (via Thomsons) last minute after our planned holiday in Gran Canaria fell through due to the Globespan collapse.

Never been so disappointed in accomodation in my life or with the service of the initial First Choice rep.

Hotel looked fine on first impressions. However we were shown to an apartment on the the second floor, which due to the lay out of the complex was actually beneath the swimming pool. It was grubby at best with flaking paint on the ceiling & walls, a light fitting in the kitchen barely holding onto the ceiling & rusting light fixtures in the bathroom.

We were advised that we would be able to get lunch by reception (although a few minutes after the restaurant was to close for lunch) however we were promptly turned away by a grumpy member of staff. After complaining to reception & 10 minutes of negotiation on their part we were able to get lunch after all, however the quality/selection left much to be desired.

Food in general was very hit & miss. The dining room was severely understaffed, you often had to set your own table & we usually had to hunt for a relatively clean table as although the tables were cleared the table cloths (& associate stains) were not.

Pool area was ok, bar a little grubby with a hodge podge of table & chairs. Never been to a 3 star hotel though where you had to pay if you wanted a mattress for your plastic sun lounger or for a parasol!

We complained to the rep on our second day. We asked her to price a change of hotel & at the very least to see if we could move to a room on a higher floor. She eventually came back to us to advise us that we could move to another hotel at a cost of 650 euros per person, which was obviously out of the question. Seemingly nearly every hotel in Tenerife was full, include our own as we were unable to move floor!

What proved to be the icing on the cake was speaking to the new hotel rep the day before we were due to leave. Not only did it transpire that we could have moved to a higher floor at the front of the hotel, we also could have moved to another hotel for 150 euros each. Not surprisingly, the reps have been inundated with complaints about the hotel.

On a plus side the hotel is in a great location & the majority of the staff were pleasant.

No way on earth should this be promoted as a 3 star - it's an adequate 2 star at the very best. After being scuppered by Globespan I was hardly expecting to be mis-sold a holiday by Thomsons. Will be looking for some recompense from them & hope they remove this hotel from their brochures.

A great position located in a resonably quite part but no probs walking to americas, torviscas , porto colon and fanabe !
hotel room spacoius sleep four easily and very clean we stayed in room 412. Rooms cleaned every day with clean clean towels.
food; breakfast fine , lunch/diner ok, always something to eat, we ate out in the evening a few times, lots of places to choose.
bar snacks 10am - 6pm hot dogs , burgers, pizza, fries ice cream, some times the staff could be rude and you need to be aged 14 or above to order food.
Make sure you ask for rooms on level 4 or above or you may will below grd floor level or under the pool.
Entertainment in the day time was good, Stefarno the entertainment chap worked exstreamly hard to get everyone involved in rifle shooting, pool and table tennis, in the evening you could play bingo then watch a show. Loads of entertainment outside the hotel!!

pool; large nice and calm no need to get up at 7am to bag a sun bed (had to pay 1.5 euros for matress ) very relaxing sun all day long !

all in all hotel was good very, if your expecting a 5 star hotel when your paying for a 3 star you will be disappointed!!

We had 10 nights at the hotel from 29 December, had a great time and met some great people.

It's difficult to know where to start. Upon arrival we were given a room on the 4th floor. It looked as though it hadn't been cleaned that year. It was absolutely filthy. After a stand-off at reception, we were offered a second room. This one was slightly better although, on openeing a cupboard, my partner found a broken, dirty glass - another trip to reception.

The food was always cold. Not cool, cold. Every mealtime was the same, the food was put out a long time before we were allowed into the dining room and the halogen lights just didn't keep it warm. One day, they served thickly sliced pork. One of the other guests noticed that it was raw underneath and had blood running from it. Three days later my partner was rushed into hospital with food poisoning. She remained in hospital for two days and was not allowed to eat meat, dairy, or drink alcohol for the rest of the holiday.

Despite being all-inclusive, the bar closed at 23:00 and if you wanted a drink after that, you had to go downstairs to the disco and pay for it. You also have to pay for the tv in you room - only BBC 1 available in English - cushions for the sun-loungers, towels, parasols etc.

The bed springs were so noisy that everytime one of us turned over, it woke the other one up. You could even hear the people upstairs moving in their beds. The hotel did bring new beds straight away, but mine collapsed when I sat on it (no I'm not fat). Another bed was bought which was far too small for the matress, but by this time I had lost the will to go on.

A urinal became blocked in a toilet in the foyer and despite the fact that urine was seeping into the public areas, it took two days to put a sign on it saying out of order. In fact the whole hotel was very shabby. Even the exterior paint was left unfinished.

The staff were generally ok;; however, the barstaff constantly badgered the guest for tips and there was a feeling amongst everyone there that the staff were just going through the motions.

There were herds of kids running around unsupervised; screaming until late into the evening. During the night. teenagers ran up and down corridors kicking doors and making a nuisance of themselves. I even saw the bar-staff serving alcohol to very young kids.

There was little in the way of entertainment, bingo, karaoke and discos most evenings. All other entertainment was repeated weekly and even the questions to the quiz were identical. There was supposed to be films - which would have been good for the kids on the rainy days - but even the entertainment manager didn't know anythig about them.

Best thing about this Hotel is the location and the view (thats if you have a room above the fourth level) rooms below fourth have no windows, the restaurant was like eating in a dungeon, food was cold and warmed up left overs we only ate there once in five days, the beer was watered down and did,nt taste of anything, bar staff were ignorant not friendly at all, the room was only cleaned once, bed was,nt changed at all, only had clean towels once(thats if you could call them clean) the curtains were hanging in shreds with holes on them dirty and dingy and full of dust, i would not recomend anyone to stay at this hell hole

I went to this hotel with my husband, 21 week old baby, a 2 year old and a 13 year old . From the outside it looked very nice, our room was very plesent and we managed with the space of the rooms. However to get to the pool you either need to go up a flight or down a flight of stairs which was a nightmare when we had 2 pushchairs. There wasa lift but it didn't go to the pool area, the lift also didn't have any sensors fitted so it just shut after a certain time weather you were in the lift or not, which caught out a few people who got shut in the doors. The tiles around the pool were dangerously slippy and adults aswell as children were slipping around there. The entertainment was not too bad during the day with 3 different activites taking place from but come night time it was bingo in the bar terrace from 9pm with the house money being up to just 80 euros a game although you were paying 5 euros for a strip of tickets. At 10 pm it was show time where most nights was karaoke in the discoteqe which had no windows and reminded me of a dungeon and was also down a flight of stairs. wednesday nights was a live show which was 30 mins long and wasn't that bad. No entertainment for children whats so ever. When we were due leave they cut of our wrist band for all inclusive at 12 pm although we were not due to leave the hotel until 5.30pm and we hadn't arrived untill 9pm. Nice shops around and some good views of the island. Not far from the beach and a bus stop for siam park right outside thats about the best I can say for the Villa Adeje beach.
