We arrived the 2nd week of the Easter holidays for an 8 night break with our children.
We didn't have massively high expectations given we only booked it 6 weeks ago wanting a bit of spring sunshine.
The thing to remember it is only a 3* and really you get what you pay for. It was clean, basic, needed a bit of a refurb/lighten up in places but overall we had a positive experience.
Negatives would be: lack of sunbeds or those who must rise ridiculously early to put a towel out. As a family of 5 we had no chance and I want my sleep more than a sunbed in the cramped pool area so we went to Siam Park twice and other times just wandered down the beach. If it was like that during Easter it must be impossible during the summer holidays (just something to bear in mind if you love a sun bed by the pool all day) we just sat at the bar area on a table and chair if we did pop down the pool after breakfast. It's the usual annoyance of people having towels out from the crack of dawn and then not surfacing til after lunch but I choose not to let it bother me as they are the fools and I won't let petty behaviour spoil my break.
The rooms don't have air con (not that we particularly needed it over Easter) but come summer I think it would be uncomfortable. There is a ceiling fan though.
The breakfast buffet was busy, busy, busy. A lot of pushy people (that's not the hotels fault - perhaps the clientele it attracts!) and the quality of the food is not that great. We only had breakfast there a couple of times as it was so busy and couldn't be bothered for the hassle.
Beds weren't too bad but needed more pillows! To be fair we didn't request any extra though so they may have provided us had we asked.
Floors of the apartments and the balcony could have had a better clean but the rest was kept nice and clean. Oh and we ran out of loo roll twice!
There are 2 hills to climb if you are walking back from the beach - 1 to the road and then another up to the hotel. May be difficult if you are elderly or not so mobile.
Swimming pool was freezing!!! Why don't they heat them?? Brrrr
Really slow lift
Location, location, location - can't beat it. Near to everything including the water parks
I thought the reception staff were very nice. Especially the shorter gentleman. When we stayed there was a lady, a taller man and a shorter man and all very helpful and pleasant (I had to mention that as other reviews said they were rude?)
Not that we ventured in but the hotel bar on the -1 floor looked really pretty with all the fairy lights in the window and the decor looked better than the other parts of the hotel
We had a lovely sea view from our room on the 3rd floor (rm 385)
The swimming pools were great for kids (apart from being cold) - not too large and a decent lifeguard on duty. Pool area was kept clean and the sun beds were surprisingly comfortable compared to those awful hard plastic ones in other 3* hotels
Peaceful location. No noise after about 11pm
All in all, we got what we expected - clean, basic, a few niggles. Would i want to stay here for longer than a week? No probably not but all in all it was fine.
