“Family break at Easter”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 21, 2014

We arrived the 2nd week of the Easter holidays for an 8 night break with our children.
We didn't have massively high expectations given we only booked it 6 weeks ago wanting a bit of spring sunshine.
The thing to remember it is only a 3* and really you get what you pay for. It was clean, basic, needed a bit of a refurb/lighten up in places but overall we had a positive experience.
Negatives would be: lack of sunbeds or those who must rise ridiculously early to put a towel out. As a family of 5 we had no chance and I want my sleep more than a sunbed in the cramped pool area so we went to Siam Park twice and other times just wandered down the beach. If it was like that during Easter it must be impossible during the summer holidays (just something to bear in mind if you love a sun bed by the pool all day) we just sat at the bar area on a table and chair if we did pop down the pool after breakfast. It's the usual annoyance of people having towels out from the crack of dawn and then not surfacing til after lunch but I choose not to let it bother me as they are the fools and I won't let petty behaviour spoil my break.
The rooms don't have air con (not that we particularly needed it over Easter) but come summer I think it would be uncomfortable. There is a ceiling fan though.
The breakfast buffet was busy, busy, busy. A lot of pushy people (that's not the hotels fault - perhaps the clientele it attracts!) and the quality of the food is not that great. We only had breakfast there a couple of times as it was so busy and couldn't be bothered for the hassle.
Beds weren't too bad but needed more pillows! To be fair we didn't request any extra though so they may have provided us had we asked.
Floors of the apartments and the balcony could have had a better clean but the rest was kept nice and clean. Oh and we ran out of loo roll twice!
There are 2 hills to climb if you are walking back from the beach - 1 to the road and then another up to the hotel. May be difficult if you are elderly or not so mobile.
Swimming pool was freezing!!! Why don't they heat them?? Brrrr
Really slow lift
Positives:
Location, location, location - can't beat it. Near to everything including the water parks
I thought the reception staff were very nice. Especially the shorter gentleman. When we stayed there was a lady, a taller man and a shorter man and all very helpful and pleasant (I had to mention that as other reviews said they were rude?)
Not that we ventured in but the hotel bar on the -1 floor looked really pretty with all the fairy lights in the window and the decor looked better than the other parts of the hotel
We had a lovely sea view from our room on the 3rd floor (rm 385)
The swimming pools were great for kids (apart from being cold) - not too large and a decent lifeguard on duty. Pool area was kept clean and the sun beds were surprisingly comfortable compared to those awful hard plastic ones in other 3* hotels
Peaceful location. No noise after about 11pm
All in all, we got what we expected - clean, basic, a few niggles. Would i want to stay here for longer than a week? No probably not but all in all it was fine.

Room Tip: 3rd floor and upwards seem to have the better views

The apartments are great and clean, my husband and I stayed in an one bedroom and our friend in a studio. We did not used the swimming pool but I guess it was good for families with kids. The breakfast was also good, but one of the days it was packed and 2 of the 4 coffee machines were not filled, so it took me 15 minutes to serve myself a coffee. The reception staff could be better, except Carlos who had always a smile in his face and always polite. Francisco, instead, do not have any people skills, looked annoyed with basic questions and didn't make any effort to be pleasant, he needs to learn how to say sometimes "you are welcome" in reply.

First impressions count and ours was not very good as we were met by Spain's answer to basil fawlty ,stated clearly on our booking that we had half board included but mr fawlty was having none of it , never mind even basil has to have a sleep and the rest of the staff We're good , any issues were dealt with straight away , not enough sunbeds during busy times but that could be said for most hotels , apartments were good and spacious , good area for cheap food and drink

I stayed in b&b the breakfast had lots of choice .the pool was FREEZING!!!! But it was in the perfect spot just down the hill to the beach ! Alex the entertainer was very good always happy ! Staff was friendly, all in all lovely holiday and very near to aqua land

We booked this hotel at a bargain price and I have to say it was a brilliant holiday. We stayed b&b and there was plenty of choice at breakfast but cant comment on evening meal as we always ate out......so many nice eating places close by. Our room 1011 didn't have much of a view but was huge, clean, well equipt and we had a nice sunny balcony in the afternoon. The rooms below ours were facing a wall so for the price we paid I was happy not to be in one of them! The staff were always friendly and greeted us with a happy 'Ola'. The hotel had entertainment but we never stayed in to watch it but walked passed on our way out and it always looked empty and finished early. The pool was clean and the pool bar done a lovely cocktail for me cost 5 Euro but was yummy.
As other reviews mention the sunbeds around the pool were almost impossible to get. We got up early as going diving and the towels were already out at 7.30am! There is a policy of not reserving beds with towels but no staff enforced this.
Overall I would recommend this hotel for a brilliant, clean and comfortable base and I would be happy to return one day. Maybe not in high summer tho as no air con but in April that didn't matter the fan above the beds were enough :)

My cousin and I stayed here from 5th-10th April 2014, B&B. Weather by day averaged at 22 degrees celcius and 15 by night. The airport you want is Tenerife SOUTH, 15-20mins max by cab costing 24/25 euro! (more pleasant than a transfer coach).

The hotel is clean, they have what you need in the rooms (towels, loo roll, hairdryer, equipped kitchen) and yes décor is a bit dated and that's not a complaint! We only slept and got ready in our room anyway. There isn't AC in this room, it was not necessary as we were in April but I think the summer travellers might think otherwise.
We had a studio room on the 7th floor (the roof) and it was so spacious! The roof area is shared with 5/6 rooms, with sun loungers. There are 3 pools all on the ground floor but they're quite small when compared to the amount of people staying at this hotel. We always went to the beach.

There have been complaints of cockroaches in other reviews and to clarify, they are outside and only come out after dark. If you leave your door open, then yes, of course they're going to go inside!

The breakfast was adequate - european bacon & sausage and beans, eggs, hams, cheeses, cereal, bread, cupcakes, croissants - quite a lot of choice and you get your monies worth!
You have to bear in mind that we only paid £122 each for the room!

The beach is very close to the hotel and there are good restaurants by the water. Our favourites were El Ferry, Bahia and Bombay Babu. You'll come across one of my favourite people on the beach, he'll be selling melon, bananas, pineapple, coconuts with a smile! Very juicy melons!
A huge downside is that the people selling sunglasses/jewellery won't leave you alone and we did find ourselves becoming quite angry with them because they're allowed to bother people while they're trying to enjoy a nice meal.

I couldn't have asked for a better five days away. We experienced happy waiters who made us feel like princesses and food that filled us to the rim! Definitely will be going back :)

Just had a week here from 1-8/4/14. Apartments were clean and tidy, close to beach and shops. Would definitely return as fab location. We were fortunate to get a sunbed every day, nice and comfy but it is true as said in other reviews that people do get up early, put their towels on the beds and never return for hours. Beer was expensive at 3.30 euros and wifi in reception was poor, so slow. I would still return to this complex in the future.
