“Pleasant holiday”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 25, 2014

Just back from the H10 Costa Adeje Palace and overall a very pleasant experience. Have stayed in the area many times over the years but very few hotels I would rate as highly as the H10. We were on an all inclusive deal with Thomas Cook and it is definately the best package to go for if staying here. Many had upgraded to the privelege package but not worth paying the extra for. The privelege deal gives you a different place to sit during the day if you are going to the pool but you are separated from the other guests and therefore very little interaction and could be a bit lonely! We got a double superior room and cleanliness spot on and very spacious. This was an upgrade as the hotel made a small error when we arrived but I would want a room like this again with a sea view. All the drinks on all inclusive were branded and huge measures! AI also included all the cocktails which was brilliant! We tended to have lunch at the poolside and Oliver, one of the waiters, was very good at tending to us. We were never sitting for long without a drink! All the staff in general were very friendly and helpful. The piano bar at night was also a brilliant experience and superb playing. Only downside was that there were very few Brits and a huge amount of French guests who do tend to jump queues which annoyed my husband! The food did have a european slant but we always found something nice to eat. We went to La Caleta which is just a short walk away for a meal one night and it should not be missed as it is a beautiful little fishing village with a great atmosphere. Overall a very pleasant stay and a hotel we will definately stay in again.

Room Tip: Always pay to get a sea view and a high floor. We were on the fifth floor and great view.

Check in / reception

We arrived at 11.30pm at night, and being on half board we had missed the evening meal due to us arriving so late. We were told that cold food had been prepared for us in the restaurant which was a pleasant surprise, but when we went down, no staff were available so we just continued to our room. The reception area was spacious and wifi was provided throughout. There is a piano bar here and steps down to the pool area. Staff at reception were very friendly, many speaking up to 4 languages. Check out on your final day is 12pm which is unusually late. There is also a luggage room provided for your last day.

Room

The room is extremely modern and spacious, with one of the biggest and most comfy beds I have ever slept in. English TV channel selection was minimal. A mini fridge and safe are also provided. There was also a large balcony with a drying rack. The bathroom could do with modernising to match the standard of the room, but had everything you needed- hairdryer and a very powerful shower.

Pool area

There are three pools and plenty of sunbeds. Even at 10am in the morning almost all of the sunbeds were available, so no need to reserve them. The pool area had a very tropical feel, with waterfalls and palm trees. You need to get pool towel vouchers from reception which you then hand over to a pool man from 10am onwards to get your towel. There is a beach just outside the hotel, but when I went, the sea was extremely rough and not safe to swim in. There is a lovely lunch area around the pool selling pizza, toasties, fresh fish and meat. Pizza was between 5-6 euros and toasties were around 4 euros.

Entertainment

There is a timetable in the hotel reception detailing what daytime activities are taking place – table tennis, aqua gym and yoga are some examples. The night time entertainment starts off with a singer or piano player in the piano bar, then there is a pre show at around 7pm, the main show is around 9.30pm. The quality of the show varies, but the best by far was an acrobatics show. I would have happily paid to watch this.
Food

I cannot fault the food, there was so much choice and the quality was excellent – there is cava and a smoothie bar at breakfast. Evening meal was also amazing, with lots of fresh fish and meat. Being a vegetarian, I was pleased to see there was a vegetarian corner and many other vegetarian dishes throughout the restaurant denoted with a symbol ( gluten free also denoted with a symbol). The vegetarian food here was always interesting, for e.g. polenta cakes, interesting mash and quinoa. The only problem was that the hotel classified fish as vegetarian, sometimes had meat dishes in the vegetarian corner and classified meat dishes as vegetarian. If the hotel removed fish from the classification as well as being clear on what is and isn’t vegetarian the key would have been perfect. Not really an issue if you are not vegetarian. Some people seem to have said there is a canteen feel - I did not find this was the case at all!

Gym

The gym had 6 pieces of equipment plus about 6 weight machines. When this got busy it made it difficult to find a piece of equipment. Machines need replacing, but nice to have the facility to use. This is near an indoor heated pool which is for the use of privilege guests only, although I don’t think anyone would have noticed if you were not privilege and went in.

Area nearby

The hotel is situated near a small shopping area, with a pharmacy, bikini shop, some restaurants and a supermarket. The supermarket was very handy to purchase drinks from as we were only half board. 1L Sangria for 1 euro 10 cents is not bad at all! We went to Siam park ( a must visit water park) which is about 5-10 minutes away by taxi. Our taxi cost about 10-12 euros one way. Would advise getting there about 15 minutes before the park opens as the queues get busy. Entry is 34 Euros and if you buy a return visit ticket before leaving the park this is only 17 euros.

Overall

There is an option to upgrade to ‘privilege’ which gives you access to a few other things at the hotel, such as a different restaurant, better sunloungers ( only 6 of these) and a privilege lounge in reception, but I do not feel it is makes much of a difference to your stay. Overall this is an excellent hotel which I would definitely return to. The staff were lovely, the food was excellent and the room was modern with the most comfy bed ever.

Room Tip: i stayed in room 215 which overlooked the car park - so ask for a top floor room if possible

Just returned from a 2 week half board stay. The hotel was average, clean. The restaurant was more like a canteen with very ordinary meals, seemed to cater for other nationalities, German, French etc... The privilege package that is available at the hotel appeared to have the better views etc and we didn't upgrade therefore felt like 2nd class guests!!! We don't feel that this system is necessary in what should be a '4' star hotel. We all pay for what should be a '4' star hotel with no exceptions!! The area around the hotel was quiet and peaceful . We won't be returning to this hotel. Not worth it.

Absolutely great. The staff were really very very good, kind and helpful. The installations of the hotel were excellent. We used the Privilege package and really you couldn't fault it .The Privilege areas were comfortable and well set out.The bedroom, Junior suite, was super. The bed so comfortable we wanted to take it home with us. The dinner in the La Tosca restaurant was in a word, superb. The staff extremely nice and helpful. the food was outstanding. Loved the swimming pools. The evening entertainment was good.

All in all a great experience. Would definitely go back again. Great hotel worth going for a holiday.

We have just returned from a 10 day stay at the Costa Adeje Palace in superior privilege room 668. Cannot praise the hotel or the staff enough.

La Tosca ' a la carte' restaurant, food excellent although the menu choice could do with being a little larger. Allicia and Marcos who were our main servers are a credit to this hotel.

The customer service team especially Beatriz and Marina were exceptional and we feel we have made some real friends in them both.

We paid the extra before our departure for the privilege service and we feel it was worth every penny, the comfort of the privilege areas both outside and in made towards a great holiday.

I had the misfortune of being ill whilst I was away which lost me 3 days of my holiday but the staff could not do enough for us, a Doctor was at my hotel bedside within 20 minutes, they ensured that my husband who would not leave my side was well catered for and they had food delivered to our room for him. There was also a card pushed under the door daily asking if there was anything further which they could do to assist us.

We are returning next year late September and this in itself is an unusual thing for us to do as we never return to a hotel but we were so comfortable we are actually taking the family back with us this trip.

This hotel is well worth the four stars it has and in my opinion could easily be ranked a lot higher.

Thankyou to everyone for making our holiday fantastic.

Room Tip: If you book as privilege guests request room 668 or 669

Just come back last night from the wonderful Costa Adeje Palace hotel - was I in the same place as some of the people who've written reviews I wonder?!

My partner and I stayed 11 nights at this terrific hotel and I've got so few negative points against the positives it'll be easier to list them:

I don't like having to pay 2Euros 40 for water at the table every night (we were on half board); some of the waiting staff were less than happy I agree, but they're on their feet, non-stop, for 3hours dealing with some very rude guests (and I saw a lot of them!) with patience and sorting out their grievances as swiftly as possible. We've got nothing but praise for Efrain who waits in the main restaurant - we picked a table in his "area" every day and he's absolutely brilliant.

Everything else was fantastic - food was very diverse, plentiful, freshly prepared, salads every night - a huge variety. Breakfast had everything for every nationality and taste.

We had room 525 so we had brilliant views (no ants or any insects at all by the way) and we weren't on the Privilege package. We managed to get sun beds, the pool bar food and service was really good.

There was entertainment of some sort every night - some better than others but you get that wherever you go. My only gripe really was the fact that some of the parents at night had zero control over their kids - think some of them were on holiday from keeping their kids from being nuisances when the entertainment was on but that's one small niggle.

Overall therefore, fantastic holiday, good value for money (for us anyway) and we will definitely be going back as soon as we can. Thanks to all the staff who made it such a brilliant holiday - all your hard work is really appreciated guys.

Room Tip: We had room 525 which got the sun only in the morning (early) but that suited us. Ask for a quiet r...

We stayed at the H10 Costa Adeje Palace in May 2014. The reception staff were very friendly and approachable. When we arrived at the hotel we were advised that for just 35 euros extra a day each we could upgrade to the privilege package (that's an extra 490 euros between us) This package allowed access to most of the parts of the hotel you would already expect access to having paid for an all inclusive package. During lunch my partner and I went to the pool bar to grab some food. We were advised that the pizza and the salad was all inclusive however only paying customers could have the soup and bread......We also then tried to sit in the shade inside the pool bar but were made to leave as that area was for paying customers only so we then had to sit in the sun outside. The hotel is stunning and has some fantastic features. I don't normally like to leave negative reviews however after paying so much for an all inclusive stay it seemed as if we had paid for anything but an all inclusive package. Another frustration was the "hotel passport" a paper card that was to be carried with you at all times. This was required every time you wanted any food or drink, the waiter/waitress would then print a receipt in which you would need to sign, May not seem like a big deal however I feel that in most other resorts the wristbands are much more convenient. The waiters at the Piano Bar were fantastic and very friendly. None of this ruined our holiday. The location is excellent with only a 10 min walk to the local beach and 30 minute walk from larger parts of the town. My main criticism is the privilege package as the privilege areas were always empty.
Rooms were excellent and the hotel was very well maintained. My recommendation to the hotel is to ditch the "hotel passports" and allow all inclusive guests to use facilities and eat where they wish to.
Thanks
