We stayed in this hotel for 11 miserable days from 7th October 2013. The room,in fairness was ok. The pianist in the piano bar( Yasmina) was brilliant. The canteen, laughingly known as a restaurant, was very poor. Breakfasts were passable except for the numerous dirty tables that were not tidied for up to an hour. Not enough staff.
Dinner was appalling. We ate out on a number of occasions. There was a Gala Diner which we missed, thank goodness, because of a lack of choice on the menu. No buffet that night, a blessing maybe, until you were told that the choices for the main course were rabbit or fish. Rabbit? As a choice of two? Only an insane chef or a glut of rabbit could be the reason for this.
There was no pats of butter for three days. When we asked for butter the response was 'Eet is finished'. We did enjoy a particular bottle of red wine. On the fourth day we were told 'Eet is finished'. My wife thought she would play it safe one night and had a stir fry. She waited for 30 minutes in a queue of 2 people.
Dining in the hotel was not a pleasurable experience.
There is no easy access to the outside pools so it is difficult to get in and out especially if you are not agile. There is no shallow part and anyone not over 5ft. 7ins cannot put there feet on the pool bottom.
For 550euros extra we could have aspired to the Privilege class but didn't fancy throwing away more good money after bad so we stayed with the underprivileged.
What a shame it is so bad when the location is good.
