Arrived at the hotel midday and check-in to the room was quite painless but slow, not enough staff on the desk so was queuing for ~ 40 minutes, not good after a long and tiring journey. Reception staff proved to be very helpful and pleasant throughout our stay. Paid for safety deposit box (~ 15 euro per week) but not fridge as extortionate at 4 Euros per day. As previously stated in other reviews, the key is the same for all the fridges so if you are travelling in a party occupying more than one room you know the answer.
Rooms are of a good size with more than adequate storage space. The bathroom was of a decent size, but the shower consistently leaked so you ended up with a puddle on the floor every morning. The (twin) beds were reasonably comfortable, although maybe a bit firm for some people. The standard of cleanliness in the rooms is very high as it is throughout the hotel. We had a pleasant balcony with a view over the pool. Prior to our arrival at the hotel I had e-mailed and requested a high, quiet room. We were placed in the annexe on the 4th floor but this turned out not to be particularly quiet as we were right opposite the evening entertainment, so was noisy well into the night. Not sure if there are any particularly quiet rooms at all in the hotel.
We all thought the food, both at breakfast and dinner was very good, the only criticism being that there wasn't enough choice for young children. They could put out chicken nuggets and baked beans at breakfast time, why not in the evening also? That and some fish fingers and a pasta dish would satisfy most youngsters, it would be so easy to do, what's the problem? They also did adhere to the evening dress code, I did see gentlemen in shorts turned away for inappropriate dress.
The evening entertainment was absolutely dire! The best of the bunch was the Three Tenors, one of whom was surprisingly good, but Neil Diamond, Robbie Williams and The Eagles were atrocious. The hotel's kids team were magnificent, particularly Elsa who we can't thank enough. Plenty of sun beds around the pools but that didn't stop the minority putting their towels down and disappearing for the rest of the day! Really no need for that at all, our party could get 5 beds together at any time without having to resort to under hand tactics.
One point I would make, beware of the time-share salesmen, they just won't take no for an answer and I found myself having to be quite rude before they would leave us alone. Also, walking along the front into Playa de Las Americas you are accosted every 25m by people trying to entice you into their restaurants. I object to people I don't know trying to shake me by the hand as if they are a long lost friend and then grabbing you and vigorously trying to pull you into their cafe, I deem that assault and one over-enthusiastic person nearly got thumped!
Overall, a good holiday in a good hotel. Cleanliness second to none, good food (with the proviso regarding the children's menu above), nice enough rooms and fair enough value for money.
