This hotel is impressive, from first to last impressions! We arrived by taxi and were quickly swept underground to the impressive lobby/reception where a porter was waiting to receive us and take our bags. After a very quick check-in and complementary drink, we were escorted to our Junior Suite. The room was large, with king size bed, dressing table, walk-in wardrobe, small living area, and reasonable balcony. It also had the largest bathroom I've seen in a hotel, complete with separate shower and bath (most hotels have bath with shower extension). It was exceptionally clean with a turn down service (we looked forward to our dark chocolate ever night). I was my wife's birthday as well which the hotel acknowledged by sending a cake to the room.
The food was unbelievable at this hotel. In fact the best food I have ever eaten! There are 3 restaurants, however we choose to eat at the main one in the hotel (the others looked really good too). Buffet breakfast, with lots of selection of cereals, fruit, cold meats, and cooked food. Eggs cooked to how you want them. Waiters wouldn't even allow you to pour your own drink. Evening meals were to die for, buffet starter and dessert, but the main course was selected off a menu which included fish, chicken, and beef dishes. Everything cooked to how you liked it. I can't stress enough the service in this hotel. On our honeymoon we wanted to feel special, and they most certainly did that.
There were only a couple of negative things: when we arrived they take a credit card and your signature. For the rest of your stay all you do is sign for everything. We were quite good in keeping a tally of what we were spending but i can see how things could get out of hand. Secondly the prices of things are quite expensive (5* - so i did expect it). For example they offered a rose petal bath in your room, starting at €100.
The area is quiet with mainly older folks, probably due them being the only ones who can afford the hotels in the area, but it perfect for our honeymoon. I must also say there is lots to do, with the water parks (we went to Siam park) and boat trips etc.
I can't recommend this place enough, and if i could afford it I'd go back year after year. Unfortunately its going to have to wait to a wedding anniversary before i can justify spending big money again.
