“The quality of its sister grands in the Carribean”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 15, 2013

We have visited the Iberostar Grands in the Carabean and Mexico several times, and have been more than happy everytime, we decided to try one in Europe, and picked the Mirador. Great hotel, our suite was fabulous, massive balcony and stunning uniterupeted views, We dined in both restaurants, food for breakfast and dinner was excellent (dined twice in a 7 day period,) Pool area was immacaculate and very peaceful. Love to see this hotel fall in to the IB Grand Caribean Model, (Ulta inclusive) but will return anyway. Sorry for late review, I thought we had submitted it on return.

Room Tip: Don't forgat to use the ommelette chefs at breakfast

We have just returned from a two week stay at El Mirador. We have stayed in Costa Adeje before but this was the first time at this hotel. The attraction for us was that it is an adults only hotel. We don't dislike children - we have for grown up ones of our own, but it was just so peaceful and quiet.
Like ther reviewers, we were impressed by the entire staff from the moment we arrived. After a long day travelling, we were shown the bar and given a drink while our bags were taken to our room. We had a superior suite with sea view on the third floor. It had a large terrace with a sofa, chairs and tables. The bed was massive and we had to wave to each other from our own sides. The lounge area was lovely and although we didn't go on holiday to watch TV, it was quite nice to catch up with BBC news occasionally.
The room and bathroom was kept spotlessly clean with nightly turn down service and a little bar of dark chocolate on each side of the bed.
Towels for poolside use were left every day with a handy straw bag. A lot of guests placed their towels on their favourite sunbathing spots before breakfast, but there were always free sunbeds and attendants on hand to help with bedcovers, umbrellas etc. bar staff make regular rounds to fetch drinks. The pool itself was warm and clean and big enough to have a proper swim.
We are there on a B & B basis, but ate in the hotel on alternate evenings. Breakfast was a feast with a huge range of options including eggs cooked to order and a smoothie bar. At dinner, there was a large choice of hot or cold starters, followed by a menu of six main courses, brought to the table covered in silver domes and lifted with great ceremony by the waiters! The staff were, without exception, friendly, efficient and helpful, without being obsequious and fawning.
After a difficult year, during which my partner lost both of his parents, we really needed to relax and switch off. This is the perfect location for such a holiday. Don't expect showy entertainment. There was a singer or duo in the bar each night but it wasn't so loud as to be intrusive.
The drinks seem expensive but this is a five star hotel in beautiful surroundings so you really can't expect anything else. Bear in mind too that when you have a G & T, it's a huge measure, served in a lovely glass.
We just can't recommend this hotel highly enough. As others have said, we will almost certainly go again.

Room Tip: We met a couple who had been upgraded as they had a leak In their room. It was a step up from ours...

My husband and I stayed at the Mirador in early May, with our family, for a second visit at this amazing hotel.
Once again we had a wonderful holiday and can't wait to return next year.
The staff are excellent, both attentive and responsive and the rooms and grounds are well maintained and cleaned to a high standard. We actually found the qulaity of the food better than on our previous visit and nothing can compare to the dining experience in the restaurant - absolutely delightful!
A special word of thanks must go to Elisabeth Melian for responding so quickly and professionally to our needs and although all the restaurant staff are impeccable in their service and attitude, I have to say that Juan was outstanding - both courteous and effecient.
A truely 5* experience - highly recommended for a stressfree and relaxing holiday.

In the first three weeks of May, my wife and I (Both 70+) spent our holiday at the Mirador. We booked a Junior Suite for our vacation. It was, in our opiniion, certainly not a Junior Suite, since we certainly know how the should look like. During the first night there was loud music from the Hotel next door. The next Morning we complained about noise at the Reception Desk. Almost immediately the Assistant Manager, a young and very efficient young woman,Elizabeta, excused herself for the inconvenience, and offered us an upgrade to a Superior Junior Suite. A very lovely, quite large Room. - The Food too was very good. A wonderful and large Breakfast Buffet, plus two Cooks who prepared Omelettes and whatever your heart and stomach longed for. As for Breakfast, also Supper consisted of a huge and exquisite Buffet plus a five Course Menu every evening, plus again two "a la Minute Cooks" The Restaurant Chef Davide and his Brigade of Waiters where always incredibly courteous, friendly and helpful. All in all, great Staff. Where there is so much sun, there is also a little shade. We asked at the Reception for a Water Heater, to prepare Coffee early in the Morning. They didn't have any, but offered us to borrow one, for the price of 20.- Euros per week!! We bought one at a little store near the Hotel for 15.- Euros! Also we asked to have two Sunchairs for the huge balcony. No way, Company Policy: Not allowed in this particular room. Only in regjular Suites . For Clients like us, who had booked for three weeks, the decision was impossible to understand. Then a couple of days before leaving, we asked for a balance to weigh our luggage. No way either. They offered to bring the Luggage to the kitchen to weigh, where there obviously seemed to be one, but for each piece of luggage they would charge us 1. Euro! Imagine that, in one of the best 5 Star Hotels on the Costa Adeje..All in all, thanks to Assist Manager Elizabeta who was incredible helpful, charming and professional (the Sun of the Mirador) and Davide the Restaurant Boss our stay would not nearly have been so nice- W.and M. This was our second time at El Mirador and once again we had a very relaxing week at this adult only hotel. The whole place is peaceful and friendly, with barely a sound by the pool and never a queue for anything. This year there were English channels on the TV which adds a bit of variety in the late afternoon/early evening. We went B and B again, but had one evening meal in the buffet restaurant (35 euros), which provided very good first and third courses, with slightly disappointing main courses. Live music every night in the nearby Acanto bar and in the Divine bar at Playa Fanabe (15 min walk) were both very good. Took a taxi one night to Playa de Las Americas for a change of pace and really enjoyed it-- give it a go it's much better than its reputation.
Taxi from airport is 25 euros and no hassle. We will return again but probably not next year.

After looking at the different five star hotels within the El Duque area,we decided on the Mirador.
On the whole we were not diappointed.
On arrival the staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming.
We chose a junior suite with a sea view. Requested a higher floor before arrival.
We were allocated a room on fourth floor, which was very spacious, separate lounge area.( not that this facility was used, I think it would be nicer if it was one large room) nicely decorated,if not a little dated. The bedroom was spotless everyday. The maids werea delight and very friendly.
The only disappointment with the room was the balcony.it was very large area but, your neighbouring wall was a wrought iron piece of trellising. Allowing you and your neighbour to see each other. I'm not an unfriendly person, but like theoption to sit out without being stared at.
Only other issue without room (1411) was the cooking smell from the dining room wafting through patio doors In the morning..

The swimming pool and garden area are maintained beautifully and plenty of sun loungers to choose from, whatever time you ghetto pool.
A waiter service is offered around pool. So not sure why you need. To pay the extra to use the Balconarda area.
Staff at the bar are fabulous! Christina has a very contagious smile.
Breakfast has everything you could want and more, being a fairly small hotel ,it's nice that it does not feel like a cattle market with everyone in and out.

From our experience of staying in the other 5* hotels in area we feel the Mirador is thebest.

However, Tenerife has become expensive and you do not receive value for money.
Good restaurants with good cuisine are not easy to find.
The atmosphere in theTorres Mirador is fabulous, but the food is a real let down.

A few other restaurants In the complex joined to the hotel are average.
I would do some homework before you go if you are a foodie. The reception staff weren't to clued up on suggestions.

Overall very relaxing stay very quietas it's adult only hotel. Plenty of space and lots of smiley staff.

Room Tip: High level to get sea views.

We have just spent 5 nights at this lovely hotel, beautiful gardens, tranquil, warm pool, the most amazing spotlessly clean suites with fantastic ocean views, mega comfy sun loungers around the gardens. . . . Excellent choices for the buffet breakfast. Also the staff are extremely attentive. We travelled with my elderly mother and she had a fall in her suite as soon as we arrived, the hotel staff were very concerned, and I would like to thank them for their attention. I would recommend this hotel for a quiet, chilled out holiday. We ate at nearby restaurants and also in the hotel, food was very good. there is a lovely long promenade where we went running every morning. The only thing I can fault at this hotel is the gymnasium facilities, it is in dire need of updating, but didn't let it spoil our break.
