“Luxurious adult only hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 12, 2012

We stayed here at the end of October hoping for a week of sunshine in a quality hotel.
We weren't disappointed, and although the hotel is adults only we did take our 15 year old son. (Who was a bit bored!)
There were a couple of teenagers in the hotel, but essentially it caters unashamedly for adults, which was great for us and what we wanted. Total relaxation.
The hotel is well situated on this part of the coast and there are lots of restaurants within walking distance, along with shops etc.
I think all the rooms have some sort of sea view and tick all the usual 5* boxes.
Minor quibbles - I felt the toiletries could have been better quality (which they might well be in the VIP part of the hotel, at extra cost), and the wardrobe area is tiny.
The TV doesn't carry many Brtitish channels, apart from BBC world news.

Would I visit again? Possibly, as the pool and gardens are really lovely, and, without any little ones, beautifully relaxing!

But I must add - the smell of drains in parts of the hotel is appalling and the mangement really do need to do something about it.

Stayed end of Oct and early November. This hotel exceeded our expectations in every way. The standards were excellent I just cannot think of anything to pick fault.

A 10 min walk on the prom in the evening soon found usamongst the many bars and restaurants that were near by. Unusually for a resort there was little loud music just a peaceful pleasant atmosphere it was such a relaxing place to stay.

Room Tip: They are all good, 4th floor probably better veiws along the coast line but that's it.

Spent 6 nights at end of October. Second visit and will definitely go again. Hotel is fantastic, with excellent location and facilities. Do not often use a hotel gym, but this one is near the pool and has exercise equipment with sea/beach views! Breakfast is also very good, with wide choice. Staff are friendly, whether reception, housekeeping or restaurants, even check in/out is a pleasure (Daniel was helpful). Yes, the adults only is good. The pool is very quiet and large. No such thing as worrying about sunbeds - pool attendant was also fantastic, bringing whatever you want. El Torito is an excellent meat restaurant with large wine selection (not on sea sea front) - good value. Only issue this year was the weather.....c'est la vie!

Room Tip: High floor

Spent a week in El Mirador and it couldnt have been better. Costa Adeje is, without doubt, the best part of southern Tenerife because there are very few noisy bars just good quality eateries where one can relax and enjoy good food and wine. The hotel is screamer free ( no children ) and , I suppose, could be termed quite boring to some folk. However if you go to the island to relax and get some winter sunshine then this is the hotel. OK you pay a bit more because it is termed 5 STAR but really if you look about you can get reasonable deals which make the whole thing good value. The vast majority of the staff are excellent and the rooms are what you would expect. Good service and an absolutely wonderful breakfast buffet made the whole holiday one that will be repeated. I WILL BE BACK!

5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 31, 2012

We stayed at the El Mirador for 1 week in October, the weather was lovely, a little windy sometimes, but over all great. We upgraded our room to a junior suite sea view at the time of booking and we were so pleased we did, the room couldn't have been better! Apart from there was no tea/coffee making facilities, lucky enough we had a travel kettle with us, as we love a cup of tea first thing in the morning. The view from the room (1612) was fantastic, looking down to the hotel pool area and the sea/ beach. The room itself was huge, with sitting area, walk-in wardrobe, hall way, big bathroom with separate shower and double sinks. Also included was in-room safe, robes, slippers, mini bar (unfortunately didn't always get restocked), hairdryer, selection of magazines, TV (not many channels, but not on holiday to watch TV) we even had a complimentary big bowl of fruit and 2 bottles of still water. One of the best things about our room was the balcony! Wonderful view, as mentioned before and sofa, chairs, coffee table and even another table and chairs. We were on a bed and breakfast basis, as we had stayed in the area before, we knew there were nearby restaurants. Infact you couldn't beat the location of the El Mirador, close to the beach, shops, bars and restaurants. The breakfast was served until 10;30am which was good if you wanted a lay in. The choice of food was also good, there was an omlette station, where you could also get other hot food eg fried/scrambled eggs, sausages, bacon, potatoes, pancakes etc Whatever your taste, you could find something to suit. We always managed to get a table in the beautiful outside area too. The pool area was spacious with comfortable sunbeds, the pool man was very helpful, and would move beds, umbrellas, tables to wherever you felt most comfortable to sit. Alot of people seem to like the grass area. We had a couple of lunches at the hotel, in the restaurant over looking the pool, which was very enjoyable, we also tried to have dinner one night at the same hotel restaurant, but was told because we had not made a reservation there was no available table?????? At this time, I think about 4 tables were occupied, I know on the time of checking in on reception, we were told to make reservations if we wanted to eat at one of the hotel restaurants, but could they have fitted us in??????? We did use the outside bar area for a night cap on most evenings, but we couldn't always find a seat, not because it was too busy, but because of the seating configuration. Most evenings the entertainment was a man playing a piano/organ, which was ok for holiday entertainment. Saying all this, we really loved this hotel, and would love to return! The staff all seem to be really friendly and helpful and we would truely highly recommend this hotel!

We booked this for 10 days in October (temps low 80's) and decided to spoil ourselves and upgrade to the VIP area. Our room was excellent as were the views from the area reserved for the VIP customers. We booked bed and breakfast to allow us a more varied choice to eat in the evenings.
The breakfasts were awesome as my children would say, a huge choice with Cava, salmon and caviar featuring heavily for us, well why not, we decided to treat ourselves. The choice was just outstanding and the waiters extremely efficient.
There was always entertainment of an evening in the cocktail bar and as this hotel did not cater for under 14's I believe, most of the music suited our age group. The beach and sea in the sandy bay outside the hotel was perfect for both swimming and snorkeling. Would have no hesitation about returning.

Room Tip: Go for the VIP area as a special treat if you can, other than that the sea views were excellent from...

Trip to Tenerife enjoyable as always. Tried a different hotel as have done most of them now. The El mirador is quite a nice place to stay firstly its an adult only hotel which will only appeal some travellers, we went b&b which was fine a good selection for a buffett breakfast, we had a junior suite fantastic balcony great view of the ocean and staff very friendly on reception and bar cleaning dining hall basically nice atmosphere. Seating area for sunbathing good nice views of the sea from the loungers. Rooms a good size with walking in wardrope ladies, entertainment limited in the evenings. The Downside was internet very slow and sparce in certain areas of the hotel, tvs very dated and not many english channels to watch plus no music channels to listen to. On ocassion I had some trouble getting into the room mainly after a few g&ts do ignore, like I say just a few faults nothing major going back in Feb 2013 for a week, this is my view of the hotel try it yourself. Ciao

Room Tip: A suite always has more room and of course a seaview is a must.
