“A lovely hotel with wonderfully friendly staff”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 2, 2013

Stayed for one night as a get away with friends. From beginning to end the staff were unfailing friendly and helpful and cheerful. The classic room we stayed in was large, comfortable and even had a iron and ironing board. We went with Secret Escapes and had a very good deal on the room and money off from the restaurant. However, there was a very good deal in the restaurant for table d'hote. The food was excellent and the breakfast buffet was wide ranging and the cooked breakfast was fresh. The pool was one of the biggest we have seen in a spa hotel and the spa area was clean and welcoming. Only slight downside was the windows could do with blinds/net curtains, but we would definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: Odd numbers (on floor one at least) face the golf course, whilst even could have view of the car par...

£89 included two rounds of golf or a spa treatment, bed, breakfast & evening meal. What a bargain! Lovely clean hotel, spacious rooms & large, clean bathroom with bath & separate shower cubicle, bed was a bit too soft for my liking, my only criticism was there was no air con & the rooms were far too hot! Well worth a visit but do need to get air con as this would stop me going back in the summer months but definitely return other wise.

Room Tip: Ground floor rooms because they have patio doors & this eliminates the none e instance of air co...

Stayed for one night to break a long journey. Lovely setting with enthusiastic friendly staff. Excellent room and bathroom, nice bar area and friendly other guests. Very nice buffet breakfast and hot breakfast selection- one of the best I have had in England. I would definitely stay again.

Stayed at the hotel on 27/07/13 for one night with a spa breaks package (highly recommend) the spa was a great experience, me and my girlfreind chose back massages for our treatment, when we got back to the relaxation room, her comment summed up the treatment "thats one of the best massages i've ever had" and my girlfriend has a degree in that line of work. The afternoon tea was perfect, just enough to carry you through the day and then dinner was just as perfect. All the staff were helpful and friendly who we came in contact with, from Abby who dealt with our afternoon tea, to Sophie and Amy who did our spa treatments and the bartender who managed to whip up a different cocktail for my girlfriend as she didn't like certain things in the ingredients. Rooms were spacious and well maintained. I highly recommend this place for a nice relaxing weekend with your partner or as a group.

We have just stayed for a 2 night mini break and have thoroughly enjoyed every minute. This was our second stay here and we had a spa treatment and afternoon tea on the first day followed by 2 nights dinner, bed and breakfast. The spa treatments are excellent with wonderful staff. The whole place is very welcoming and relaxed with very friendly staff. The rooms are very well appointed with large bed, flat screen TV etc but the star was without doubt the shower which was so powerful and relaxing. Only gripe we had with the room was the lack of air conditioning which would have been good in the recent hot weather. Evening meals and breakfast in the restaurant were very good quality with a massive choice of breakfast items. Drinks in the bar VERY pricey. Bottle of beer an glass of wine £11 which is a rip off and £4 for a bottle of water in the room. That was the only let down really. Overall a great trip and would not hesitate in booking again.

Room Tip: Room 202 has great views over the golf course

I went here with a couple of work friends for a spa weekend. We started our day of with a very expensive drink & dinner, I do understand that a hotel cost more but £11.30 for a double vodka & diet coke is a little extreme ! Hence we didn't have another one. The sandwiches were good but again a little over priced.
We went to the spa & I have to say the lady that did my massage was fantastic it was probably the best hot stones I've ever had. The spa staff are very nice.
Our room was lovely clean & with everything you would expect. With our package it included a 3 coarse evening meal which was very nice although if we wanted any bread it would of cost us £1.75??
I always look forward to my breakfast when away but this breakfast didn't do it for me the bacon was very fatty & only just cooked & either cheap or starting to go off it was very grey looking, you also get a choice of beans black pudding or fried bread hello is this not part of a breakfast why should you have to choose one of them ? All the hotel staff are very nice & helpful.
