“Great value for money”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 15, 2013 via mobile

Lets get one thing straight with this place first, its advertised as a 2 star, 3 star with some places. So when we hear guests complaining about things I just think you get what you pay for. In terms of what i paid its 5 stars to me, its got a bed, a roof, cracking pool and lovely staff. Are the rooms easy on the eye? Not exactly, but what do you do in your room other than sleeping? The staff are great. The pool itself is 5 star. the balconys are fab. its a 5 minute walk in to the old or new town although coming back up could be a steep walk! All i would say is il go back again, i stayed in a 4 star last year for twice the price and the only extra service i got was the decor. Much better hols this time and saved a few quid! Hotel very relaxing and very quiet, partnered with hotel across the road from 7pm onwards for drinks etc where hotel is livelier. But if you want a lively hol get down to the strip then come back to relax!!

We had emailed and rang at least a month before and had asked for a pool view after reading the majority of the reviews and were dissapointed when we arrived and was told there was none available, but they guy at the bar had said that was strange as the hotel was quiet this week. The room was average and overlooked other hotels. Our room was cleaned only twice throughout the week and we had to ask for more towels, there is also no air conditioning two nights we couldn't sleep due to the heat, our curtain railing also fell down when we tried to open it but they fixed it as soon as we asked. The lady with curly dark hair at reception was exceptionally helpful as i had lost my bank card! The walk down to the strip was hard to walk down and up especially if you are going down and up everyday a few times. The pool was nice although the ground surrounding it was quite dirty. The shopping center is less than 5 minutes walk away. There is a great Chinese that does an all you can eat buffet at the end of the hill on the left for 6.99 we ate here most nights we couldn't get enough, we also loved a restaurant that when you walk down the hill you turn right and carry on walking you will see it sticking out think it was called Tropicana, 2.50 full English, tasted great you cant go wrong!! We really enjoyed our stay apart from the disaster with loosing the bank card i would definitely come back to lanzarote, and would maybe stay again.

Great location (apart from cardiac hill!!) staff lovely but the rooms were a let down. Had a view of a green fence that sounded like it was going to fall over in the wind. No sunlight. Beds were very uncomfortable, had to use pillows from the chair on the beds at night. Ppl were using blow up lilos on top of the loungers. Not much of an atmosphere at all. Came home early from the holiday.

This is a great base if you wish to be close to the old town and the strip 5 min walk to both. This was our third stay at these apartments. These are very basic apartments , all internal area's are kept clean. The staff extremely friendly. Happy hour is between 4 and 5 each day at the bar. Only ate here once in our 2 week stay.. which was adequate, you cant really go wrong with a burger and chips! Did see a couple order the breakfast and it looked huge and good value. Ask for a pool view room as the other sides look over a road and a boarded up building site on the other side.Spar shop which is well stocked is mins away. The pool and surrounding area was not cleaned once whilst we were there, which was not the case in previous stays, the sunlounger's have seen better days and are very uncomfortable, the majority being the non adjustable type however there are a few that are adjustable. We got some lilo's to lie on top of! The chairs outside the bar area are in dire need of replacing before an accident happens, they are falling to pieces. We would book to stay here again due to price and locality. A bit of TLC and I would of awarded 5 stars.

Room Tip: Ask for rooms 203-211 If you like sun in the mornings, these are also pool view rooms. If you prefer...

When we booked the holiday through monarch it was advertised as a 2+ star hotel, when we arrived and seen the one star outside we expected the worst!
We couldn't have been more wrong!
The location was very good, the rooms were cleaned spotless every 2 days! Reception was very helpful and polite when ever we spoke to them! The lady at the bar was very nice and chatty! With the hotel been adults only it was a very peaceful atmosphere though the day and never any noise on a night time. Overall this hotel is very good value for money and a lot better than most 3 star hotels I've stayed in! If we was to return to Puerto del Carmen I'd defiantly book there again.

4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 10, 2013

Myself and my partner booked a week away as a cheap get away and I have to say the accommodation far exceeded my expectations. Having read some of the reviews I was wondering whether I had done the right thing but as soon as we arrived my nerves calmed. The reception staff were very welcoming and although our room wasn't just ready, because our flight arrived early, we were taken through to the outside pool bar area. We only waited 15mins and the receptionist came and took us straight to our room.
The apartment was quite big with a decent bathroom, kitchen and lounge area. The bedroom area was quite small but we were not on holiday to stay in the apartment and saw it as somewhere to put our heads down. Yes the apartments are a bit dated and they are in need of a bit of TLC but again you get what you pay for. Our balcony looked over the pool and to any one planning to stay here I would definitely advise asking for a pool view. The gardens around the pool, under the balcony, are really looked after and look very neat and tidy.
The pool area is very clean and tidy and, in my opinion quite pretty. Its quiet because its adults only and there are plenty of sun beds and parasols to go round. The pool bar is open everyday and the prices for both food and drinks are very reasonable. There is also a happy hour everyday at 4 - 5pm
There is quite a hill to walk up and down to get into town so I wouldn't recommend this to anyone with difficulties walking.
All in all we very much enjoyed our stay here and will definitely be coming back!!!!

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a pool view!!!
