“Good value”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed February 18, 2013

This is my second time in this hotel. It's really good value considering what you pay. Yes you get plastic glasses but that's because the bar is beside the pool. I found the staff friendly and helpful and Charlie tries to get everyone joining in the games during the day and in the evening. We had a really good room again overlooking the pool, and beyond to the sea.

Room Tip: rooms 247,248 & 249 have good views over the pool but you will get noise from the bar.

Just came back after 2 weeks all inclusive, really dreading it before we went after reading some of the reviews, but pleasantly surprised. Our room was great, very big overlooking the pool, sea and mountains it was clean and towels changed every 2 days which is fine. Food was edible and even nice most of the time, but not always very warm. The hotel is not really suitable for young children or elderly people with walking difficulties as there are many steps which cannot be avoided even to get from the bar/pool area to dining room or reception. We had a really good time, if you get a decent room, and a good crowd of people staying at the time you are there, then there is probably very little to complain about, it's what you make it, we just laughed off the things that weren't quite right, (like cold baked beans) that way you enjoy your holiday more, some people like to moan about anything just for the sake of it, if they did less moaning they may even enjoy themselves, for the person that wrote about having.no air con in the room, and then saying it was freezing at night and there wasn't enough blankets, then went on to say he left his window open all night and got a drunk person peering in, just contradicts him or herself ifmyournon the ground flor you just don't leave windows open, no matter where you are !

Room Tip: We got room 250 - really good room large overlooking pool, sea and mountains at end of block top flo...

Stayed in Blue Sea Los Fiscos from 17th to 24th Jan this year (2013). Worst accommodation I have ever stayed in - stayed in Lanzarote twice before and accommodation always of a high standard until this time. Dingy apartment at front of hotel just over reception, and asked for sea view. The sea view was between 2 blocks of apts across the road and could see a strip of sea. When I asked to be moved, I was told that I would have to pay Euro 20 for the change, plus 10 euro per night, totalling 80 in all. I did not think it was worth this, as the other apts may have been just as dingy. Crooked toilet seat, no kettle, no microwave, dirty balcony with stains, only 2 or 3 channels in english on TV, incl skye and CNN. Also, about 15 mins walk from puerto del carmen and had to climb 2 hills each time we walked back to the apartment. Never again will I stay in such shabby accommodation. Bernie, Mayo.

Room Tip: Pool view would be better than sea view - as at least the pool view apts can get a better view of th...

We have just arrived from our fantastic holiday on Lanzarote. You have to go there and enjoy as much as possible.
Los Fiscos hotel. Well, it was not bad at all.
Clean rooms- bedroom, living room with TV and small kitchen, polite (well not as polite as english would expect, but it is different culture) and always helpful personnel. We had all inclusive option, but if you are curious about local specialities and are not a person who will spend your holiday at the hotel pool, B&B or self catering will be better for you. Kitchen is OK, for the breakfast you can choose various tasty combinations- full english breakfast, continental breakfast or cereals, croissants fresh vegetables and fruits. Lunches and dinners were more or less the same every day, but there was always something to choose- pizza, pasta, meat. It was always hot and tasty (hot buffet). Which was also good was a kettle of soup every lunch and dinner. Fantastic for your stomach.

Lanzarote is a part of biosphere unesco something and are very pro eco, so maids will come to clean every other day, but you always get new fresh towels and bedding. You will not get any soap in the hotel, but SPAR shop is very close and you can buy anything there (soap, shampoo, sunscreen lotions...) do not bother to bring any of these from the UK, better spare some place in your luggage for warm socks. Also DO NOT DRINK WATER FROM THE TAP!!! Lanzarote has difficulties with water (ranis max 40 days a year) and tap water is good for shower, cleaning but not for cooking or drinking. You can buy 5L bottle of water in SPAR for 89c so do not worry:)
We were very busy with sightseeing and land exploring so we did not use much of swimming pool. I have spent only one day on a hotel tarrace sunbathing, which was very good. Bar is ok, you have plenty of possibilities of alco/non alco drinks and sandwiches during the day. Hotel has got plenty of social activities every day, but we have had our own wonderful plan so we have not have chance to participate in any of this, however I have heard people laughing and enjoying themselfs. There are bikes you can borrow for 10 EUR. We went to Puerto Calero and Playa Quemada to Los Ajaches park. There is a nice walk on a beach side. It's maybe not very suitable for those kind of bikes but we walked a bit pushing them. Also car hire is available in the hotel and everywhere in the town. Roads are wonderfully kept and the traffic is not busy at all.
In the hotel you will be given leaflet from Last minute excursions. Depending what is your budget and how do you want to spend your holiday. I would recommend South tour - Timanfaya national park and many more, fantastic guide! (It's better and cheaper to go with this tour, otherwise you will spend 2-4hrs waiting to get to Timanfaya nat. park and will need to pay for bus to be driven through the park). You also have to try Isla La Graciosa!!! FANTASTIC!!!

Beaches - from the hotel you have short way to get to seaside but need to walk west around 10-15 min to get to Playa Grande- sandy beach, sun bed with umbrella costs 8 EUR for a whole day. The only thing which was annoying were those people who sell icecreams and massage ladies...they will come 3-4x and bother you even if you tell them politely "no, thank you". Better walk 20-30min. longer or get a taxi or bus to Playa los Pocillos where you have more space, it is calmer and you have better approach to the sea. Restaurants, take aways and SPAR everywhere possible so you will not be hungry or thirsty.

Weather - sunny every day!!! 19-25C, LOVELY! Occasionally clouds in the morning and very strong winds (20-55km/h), or nice breeze from the sea. However after sunset it can get really cold. We were lucky we did not have any sandy storm and no rain. Have some long sleeve tshirt/cardigan/trausers for the evenings, something warm for night as well (some cotton pyjama or so). Also it's better to have some windstopper for Timanfaya park, it is very windy.

To summ it all- Los Fiscos is good enough for sleeping, breakfast and location. Lanzarote is fantastic place and you have plenty places to see so if you want to explore it, go for either B&B or self catering option. You really do not need anything else.

Room Tip: Bar finishes at 11pm and it can be a bit loud till that time. We were in 226 (next to the road, but...

We spent a great week at los ficos, rooms comfortable and spacious, food was ok, you can always find something .you like to eat. Lovely friendly staff, Charlie is full of life always up for a laugh, join in and play her games and you'll have fun and meet a lot of lovely people. The pool area is clean and spacious, no trouble getting a sun lounger as all are chained up and not opened till 10 in the morning. Drinks might be served in small plastic cups but not a problem just order 2 at a time, The hotel is located at the top of a steep hill, no problem a cab is holy 3 euros or stop on the way up and have a drink in one of bars. All in all we had a very enjoyable holiday would definitely go back.

Room Tip: we stayed in room 228 on second floor at front of hotel. Were not disturbed by any noise.
