“4th visit and will continue to go back”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 28, 2010

Recently returned from an excellent week at La Laguneta apartments. Within easy reach of a small supermarket (5min walk) and 10mins to the main strip. Accomodation is pretty basic but cleaned daily (except weekends)Towels changed twice weekly, but sheets only once. Taxi from/to the airport was was 12 euros. The pool and gardens were spotless, however the pool is freezing! AND you dont need to worry about reserving a sun lounger as each apartment comes with its own sun terrace and loungers. Perfect! Reception was closed between 1pm and 5pm and after 9pm. but only really needed it for bottled water. Serious self caterers who actually like to cook would be limited by the lack of an oven and cooking utensils, but we managed fine with the two rings, fridge and microwave and toaster..
The owner Miguel is great and will do anything for you. He let us keep our room until 7pm due to a late flight as the apartments where quiet (free of charge) and he wrote the name of a fantastic tapas bar in Tias for us to visit.
All in all I would recommend these apartments for anyone that wants a quiet budget break.
Cannot wait to visit again next year.

Arriving at 15mins passed midnight there was no one to let us into our appartment.. The owner had just left us high and dry as we could not get into the complex. The following morning the owner tried to put the blame on the tour operator and made no apology to us at all . 2 disgusted holidaymakers from Wigan. BEWARE

have stayed at la laguneta 3 times now and wouldnt think of booking anywhere else. its about 5 mins walk into the town and great for a peaceful relaxing getaway. We had the pool to ourselves nearly everytime weve went and felt more like a villa than an apartment. Apartments clean and basic with a small supermarket across the road which is idea for bits and pieces if your too lazy to go to the town. Miguel the manager is great, very helpful and he just floats about all day singing to himself. The pool and comunal areas are cleaned every morning and sheets and towels replaced most days. really lovely place with really nice people. i would reccommend this place to anybody. just 10-14 euro in a taxi from airport. what more could anybody want!

Recently returned from an excellent week at La Laguneta II apartments. Within easy reach of a small supermarket, open 8am to 9pm. (Highly recommend the wine in cartons priced at around 1euro a litre). Accomodation was pretty basic but cleaned daily (except weekends)Towels changed twice weekly, but sheets only once. Taxi from airport was was 12.50 E and to airport was 10.50E. The pool and gardens were spotless. The pool felt a little cold at first but was OK once you got in, and we had it all to ourselves. Reception was closed between 1pm and 5pm and after 9pm. but only really needed it for bottled water.TV was limited to CNN news, eurosport and the Lanzarote channel, but there are TV's in just about all the bars on the "strip". Serious self caterers who actually like to cook would be limited by the lack of an oven and cooking utensils, but we managed fine with the two rings, fridge and microwave. Found out on the last day that we could have had a toaster too, if we had asked Miguel (the owner) for one. All in all I would recommend these apartments for anyone that wants a quiet budget break.

We have just returned from these apartments. After reading through the reviews we had no qualms about booking them. However, our apartment didn't quite live up to expectations. On our first morning, we were rudely awoken to the sound of diggers and JCB's..then after going out to investigate discovered that the road we had been dropped off on the night before had disappeared! Not a great start. Ok, fair enough, road work has to be done...(was just like being at home in Edinburgh) but it would've been nice if our tour operator had warned us that it was being done right outside out window! We got over this, but one thing that we found unacceptable was the fact that the apartment was covered in orange dust which was blowing in from the building site. Again, this cannot be helped, BUT, you would expect that your apartment would be cleaned more regularly to compensate for this. EH NO! According to the reviews we'd read, the apartments were cleaned daily....not this week! Our apartments were mopped (not in the corners where all the dust was gathering though) 4 days out of 7. But worse than that, our towels were changed ONCE in 7 days! OUR BED LINEN WAS NEVER CHANGED IN THE WHOLE WEEK. Under the circumstances and due to the fact that we'd picked these apartments expecting them to be clean, we were EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED AND DISGUSTED that we were expected to use towels...which were also covered in dust day in day out. WORSE than that, our beds on the day we left were absolutely fithly with dust and dirt blowing in and from our feet off the apartment floor. We took photos of where we'd written in the dirt on the floor on our last day. NICE! Oh and the pillows were yukky brown flat things and we mean yukky brown from people dribbllng on them...they were probably once white! Not good if you are used to er....a pillow. Think.. sleeping with your head on a pancake.

Also, we only had 2 plates, 3 odd glasses and a couple of bowls, not the best equipped for SC. Oh...nearly forgot.... the fridge handle was broken and one of us cut our hand on it and it was possibly the noisiest fridge I've ever heard in my life! It came to life at night. Like Darth Vader was in the kitchen.

On a brighter note, the cats that hung around were fab...Sandy, Andy and Randy. So if you go, say hola to them. Andy is the one with the big nose - he's the best.

I'm sorry to say, but I wouldn't recommend these apartments to anyone. I've staying in a few lower budget SC apts and these come bottom of the list by far and they cost me the most!

I booked this hotel through Alpharooms,2 apartments for 2 people each. Got there and reception were friendly, and apartments were a good size, and very clean.

Supermarket was 2 min walk down the hill, and the beach is 5 minute walk. The strip is approx 4 miles long, so there are lots of choices for bars and restaurants. Our favourite bar was Cafe La Ola, great for sunbathing, its next to the casino on the beach.

Once past there, you get the touts offering free drinks - we would get happy hour, free shots and free 'champagne', great for the money!

Hotel has a small pool (10m), which was always empty. Each apartment has 2 loungers, which you can drag to the pool. Very quiet and peacfeful

BUT! There were roadworks at the hotel, we woke up at 7.30 one morning to hear all the diggers. Couldn't get back to sleep, went outside and they had dug the whole road up! Speedy! Soon got in the pattern of waking up early, shutting window and going back to sleep. Wish the hotel had warned us, also meant had to get taxis from main strip as they wouldnt come to us.

All in all, lovely place if you dont want liveliness within your hotel. If you do want more action there is a pool bar across the road, shared with another hotel.

  • Liked — having the pool to ourselves
  • Disliked — the road works!
