“fantastic value in a fantastic location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 29, 2009

We have just returned from 10 days staying in these great apartments. From the minute we arrived at the reception till the minute we left we could find no fault with them, The staff were all incredibly friendly from reception to the maids. Location wise it would be hard to beat as everything is on your doorstep. However it was still quiet at night. I would recomend these apartments to anyone however if you have any health problems make sure that you get a ground floor as first floor apartments have some tricky stairs to them. We will definetly go back in the future

This hotel is in a very central location. Pubs, restaurants, shops, casino and small amusement arcades all on your doorstep. Apartments and grounds are kept very clean, and all staff are very friendly and helpful. Pools are well kept, kiddies play park in the grounds was basic and beside the bins (not aesthetically pleasing) and no kiddies disco - which was a problem for my disco dancing 4 year old.

Great places to try for food are:-
Lanis - the mexican across the road from hotel reception If you want to eat out for lunch without spending a fortune they do great baguettes for under 3 euros, the baguettes and sandwiches come auto with chips but you can opt for a salad instead. Their pizzas and spaghetti carbonara are great too

The Galleon 2 - To the right, way up the shore road from Lanis, you will come across a tiny pub/restaurant called the Galleon 2. You have got to try their Chicken curry and chips. The curry sauce is gorgeous and the chips are proper chips - not greasy fries.

The place - Take two lefts from hotel reception and walk to the first big junction in road, cross to coast side of the road. You will see a sign pointing towards the beach this will take you to The Place, a family run pub and restaurant thats been going for 28 years. When you are tired of all the junk food and crave mash and veg and chicken/steak home style this is The Place to go. Fantastic views, right on the beach. You can get traditional Sunday roast too - remember to book.

Also the restaurant to the side/top of the Casino does the best salad I found. It had a good assortment of veg and came with canarian potatoes. Great for a light tea.

Entertainment wise - you have got to try a night out at Rancho Texas. Truthfully I thought it sounded a bit naff and too expensive, but boy was I wrong. IT was a great nights family entertainment. The parents even get a break from the kiddies - the kiddies were taken to another function room for a while for dancing/drawing etc, (fully supervised)
My husband and I got to dance without our mini-me wanting to cut in!

Family of 11 in 4 apartments (145 / 158 / 159 / 108). All apartments were spacious and clean and next to the pool. They varied slightly in condition - I think the whole resort is gradually being renovated room by room - but all were pleasant.
Both pools were clean and well kept with plenty of shades and sun beds.
Wouldn't recommend the poolside bar for snacks as very expensive - just outside the apartments are plenty of cheap restaurants.
There is a restaurant on site (outside main reception to the left) whatever you do DON'T EAT IN THERE! I was served under cooked chicken (how they didn't notice I'll never know!) and 2 of our party had upset stomachs after having the spag bol.
For the money we paid very pleased with what we got. Will return again.
If you stay in rooms 158 or 159 please feed the cat!!

I stayed here in the middle of March for 1 week and I would thoroughly recommend staying in these appartments. The are very centrally located in the New Town and the New Town area of Lanzarote has been recently renovated. The pool area in the complex is nice even though the water was cold and they have a Spa attached to the complex which is very reasonable and very nice. We ate mostly in the Old Town area as we had a number of restaurants recommended to us and these restaurants were excellent. I would recommend Lanzarote if you are looking a nice relaxing holiday with good food and lovely weather. I presume it gets very busy during the middle of the summer as the strip seems to cover about 4km.

My b/friend and I have just returned from a 2 wk stay at the Playa Club Apartments and had an excellent stay.... these apartments above everything are really really central if you want everything on your doorstep ie: beach, bars, shops and restaurants!! The majority of the staff (especially the little smiley man on reception) are very friendly. We had a delicious 3 course lunch in the hotel restaurant (not pool bar) for 5 euros each and i can quite honestly say it was one of the best meals of our entire holiday!!! And by far the cheapest i have to say!! We had a fantastic pool view apartment on 1st floor and after the palm trees were trimmed on our 3rd day we even had a great sea view too!! Apartment overall was clean and maid service very regular. The Spa that is situated on the complex is great value for money and we visited it 3 times over the 2 wks either on an evening or when we had it a little overcast.........Overall great apartments!!!!

  • Liked — By far the location of this property is its biggest attraction.
