5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 11, 2014

We returned for our second visit to La Peñita Apartments on June 1st. We just loved it here when we stayed last September so decided to book again for our family holiday. When we arrived we were greeted by the very friendly receptionist, all the staff are so friendly and helpful. As we stayed before our check in was quick. When we got to our spotless clean apartment they had left us a bottle of wine and a little note welcoming us back. The only slightly negative thing (and I really don't want to say anything negative) is, now that Tony, Carlos and Rosa aren't running the poolside restaurant anymore the prices have gone up. It is run by Lauren and Luke who I have to say are really lovely. But cans of minerals have gone from 50c to €1.75 per can. And icepops are pricey to. So if you have kids who are constantly looking for drinks and icepops its best to go to the local shop to get minerals for 50c and cheaper icepops for the freezer. The breakfasts have gotten more expensive and unfortunately it wasnt great and you can get much cheaper and better breakfast on the strip. But the rest of the food is fabulous and very tasty. Nice for a snack when sitting at the pool. I still wouldn't say don't eat in the poolside restaurant because the food is good quality and is nice but just pricey. I would say that regular holiday makers won't be too happy with the prices as alot of people stay here 4/5 times a year and use the pool bar alot. We will be back again soon as La Peñita is just a little gem, so comfortable, clean, friendly and relaxing. We just love it.

We booked this a few weeks ago after deciding that we would take a birthday break in Lanzarote and preferred an apartment to a hotel. We had emailed La Penita prior to coming to ask for a room on a high floor or with a pool or sea view. On check in we discovered we had neither so requests aren't always catered for.
The previous occupants had left some personal effects which we took to reception - quite surprised that the cleaning staff hadn't done this.
Still, the apartment itself was spacious enough with ample storage space for our week's stay.
The safe in the room cost 11 Euro with 5 deposit which we thought was reasonable.
Wifi is available once you get your log in code from reception.
There's no air con so the rooms can get stuffy even with the floor standing fan at full speed and with Lanzarote often being windy it's not always a simple matter of leaving doors ajar.
Kitchen has pretty much everything including proper mugs for the morning cuppa. The world's oldest TV in our room managed to pick up both BBC1 and ITV so soap fans can keep up.
We found a small box of chocolates and a note from the staff on birthday which was a pleasant surprise.
We didn't use the pool bar as there are so many places to eat surrounding the hotel all at reasonable and competitive prices.
The doors lock behind you so always remember to take your key - unlike our neighbour who thought that banging on windows and doors at 3am would alert someone to let him in.
Reception staff were always helpful and told us about local bus services which are very cheap and help you explore other resorts on the island if that's what you want.
There are several entrances around the complex each with a lockable gate which you get a key for.
A two minute stroll gets you onto the main avenue or strip where there's ample nightlife, restaurants and bars to suit everyone. Or take a stroll a bit further to the old town (or 4 euro taxi) for even more choice.
We will be back to Lanzarote at some point and would probably stay here again.

First visit to Lanzarote, and these were chosen purely on reviews written here!
The apartment we had was on the ground floor with a small garden at the front, and overlooking the pool at the rear. It was a good sized one-bedroom with bathroom, small kitchen area with breakfast bar and lounge seating area. The kitchen was well equipped with coffee maker, kettle, microwave, double hob and plently of crockery, glasses and cutlery. All spotlessly clean. The pool area again was very clean and tidy with plenty of loungers, and the pool bar does some good lunchtime bites.
The location is a short walk to the main strip with plenty of bars and restaurants, and there's a great walk that runs the entire length of Puerto del Carmen.
Great location, friendly staff and spotlessly clean, wouldn't hesitate to book again.

Just returned from our 6th stay at La Penita and can't wait to return! Just love this place, great staff, great apartments, great location! Now for the negative; Pool Bar is under new management and as a result the prices have shot up €1.25 for a can of mineral and from €7+ for snacks.. No longer are there fresh grilled fish or fresh handmade oven pizza's and for the price of the snacks you can get a main course elsewhere! Plenty of restaurants/bars on the strip to pick from, recommend Grill La Brasa, Cafe La Ola, Sunshine Asian Restaurant, T Bone Grill Tex-Mex, Golden Corner Cocktail Bar breakfast €2.50 full english, toast, tea/coffee and orange juice! Can't beat it! Overall La Penita is a little gem!

We stayed in these apartments for a week in April and were hugely impressed with the place. Location wise, there are one street back from the main strip and about a 25 minute walk to the shopping centre.

The apartment itself were spotless, large, and had everything that we needed. We also had a great sea view. The staff were very friendly, especially the cleaning lady.

We had previously stayed in other apartments in Puerto Del Carmen which would be regarded as "better" accommodation and much more expensive, but I would return to La Pentia over these other places. There was no Aircon in the apartments which was fine in April but might be a problem in the summer months.

Overall the complex was very nice, spotless and very good value for money.

We ended up at these apartments by chance as we originally had booked Lomo Blanco but three weeks before we were due to go we got an e mail informing us the pool was closed. We had to find somewhere else and decided to try here. Firstly the apartments are spotless and very big and we had a great one on the second floor overlooking the pool. The pool and surrounding area was immaculate and ideal to chill out. It was my birthday and i got a lovely box of chocolates and note from the hotel which was a lovely touch. Its in an ideal location for beach and ammenities, maybe about a twenty min walk to the old town and harbour too. It was very quiet for the end of may/beg june and plenty of sunbeds round pool. Would definately come back and stay again. Only one complaint we thought the food at the bar was below average.

Room Tip: second floor overlooking pool gets the sun all day

Hi there , well i have been to lanzarote lots of times so felt its about time i gave you all a we bit help on the place if i can.Well i have stayed at la pinita about 4 times over the years and always fantastic, very close to the lower part of the strip but nice and quiet and safe to.There are lots nice bars and place to eat close by and lots to do and see. What would i recommend , well the drag show a must, as it had me in tears laughing and the staff look after you really well. The old town a must as lots of amazing places to eat and just a very pleasant place to be around.i will be reviewing a few places in lanzarote but would have to say this one of the best. Only down side if i had to be picky is that the pool is not the best for small kids if not to good at swimming , but hay if that is the case you should be in with them anyway making sure there alright.Hope this helps anyone thats reading it and hope if you stay at la pineta u have a fantastic time as i did

Room Tip: ask for a pool view as gets the sun all day
