“GREAT APARTMENTS”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 13, 2013

We have just had two weeks from april 25th to may 9th everywhere was spotless from the apartments .to the complex. The staff were great nothing was too much trouble. Our apartment was no 152 on third .floor we had the sun all day and a fantastic sea view .the location was good only 5 mins to shops and amenities. We will certainly be back and recommend to our friends and family

Room Tip: we would recommend the third floor for seaview

This was my second time to stay here and won't be my last. Everywhere spotless from apartments to poolside toilets. Staff were very helpful. The only downside were the thin walls of the apartments! You can hear everything that goes on in other apartments, ear plugs recommended for good night sleep!

Stayed for a week (C14th April) and was hugely impressed with these apartments. Contained everything we could wish for in terms of amenities (great kitchen/living space, clean, well-appointed bathroom and spacious wardrobe/drawer room......only disappointment was the lack of a double bed). The pool and surrounds were clean, the reception and staff professional and friendly and the restaurant and bar massively under-rated (if you are looking for a very decent breakfast/lunch, don't waste your time going down to Avenida de Las Playas EVERY day....try the in-house fare for value.)
Had a balcony overlooking the pool with views of the sea and as the apartments are within FIVE minutes walking of the 'main drag' and the beaches, etc, felt like we had the best of both worlds.
Would definitely recommend, and would stay again should the opportunity arise.
Great value.

Room Tip: Facing south and on the second floor would appear perfect.

Just returned from our 2nd visit to La Penita (w/c 25th April) and although the weather was poor for most of the week we can only praise everyone at La Penita for the friendliness of all the staff , we were given the room we asked for overlooking the sea and the gift of a bottle of wine was a nice touch. The apartments are spacious and clean , the pool area is quiet and on the sunny/hot days we had there was no trouble getting a sunbed with only a few reserved with towels !! the pool bar serves pints of lager at 2 euros and the breakfasts were really nice and quality bacon/sausage etc (though pricier than everywhere else on the strip , it was well worth it) This accomodation is perfect for couples and families and is just set back from the main strip (a minutes walk only) but suffers no noise problems. The resort has plenty of resturants and bars but it's not really a party all night resort and therefore doesn't attract groups of drunken idiots ! A great bar we discovered this time was The Cock & Bull Bar which is hidden away in a small square 2 minutes from La Penita opposite Friends bar and next door to Arthur's Bar - please find this bar if you can , it's run by Paul & Sue who are really nice friendly people , the atmospheres great, drinks cheap and they play whatever music you want from their laptop. A walk into the old town down the strip takes a leisurely 30/40 mins and is worth doing on a cooler day then walk back on the spotless beach. Overall thanks to La Penita for all your efforts in making peoples stay so memorable.

Room Tip: ask for rooms 220 - 224 for sea views

My third visit to La Penita. They are well situated just one street back from the main Avenida de Las Playas but dont suffer from any noise problems. Good size bedroom with large wardrobe and room safe. Plenty of drawers too.The living area is quite spacious with a basic 2 hob cooking ring, microwave and fridge with an ice box. Bed settee and 2 chairs and T.V. with BBC news and U.K. ITV channels. The balconies are very spacious with a table and 3 chairs. Cleaned daily except Wednesday & Sunday and the rooms and grounds are kept spotless. My only complaint is the fans. I have commented on this before. There is only one fan for the apartment and they have seen better days and not very effective. Take you own cork screw, the one provided was no use. Only 2 small gripes and overall we had a very good week. Plenty of sunbeds but you do get the usual early morning selfish idiots out at 6am then go back to bed and dont show until midday. To conclude the pool bar serves various food and tasty snacks. 2 euro for a large beer. Plenty of supermarkets within a very short walk and numerous restaurants. One of my favourites is right across from reception, the Peking Duck, Chinese. Very nice decor with great sea views and, of course, excellent food. 3 course lunch for 6.95 euro.

Had a fab week at La Penita at the end of March 2013. Weather was fantastic. Cant really fault the apartments other than not really enough space for sunbeds, you can hardly move them around. Plus people getting up at 7.30am to reserve spots was a bit irritating. The apartment beds were very comfortable, hardly any noise from any other residents during our stay. Cooking facilities a bit basic but that didnt bother us as we ate out. Cleaned 5 times a week and bedding changed once a week. Have stayed at Elena apartments every other time we have visited Lanzarote but found La Penita to be that little bit ahead with the exception of the pool area for lying out at. Location of the apartments is good too. Would definitely recommend.

Room Tip: Ask for high floor and sea views.

Stayed for a week 2-9 April 2013, 2 adults and 2 kids 8 and 5. Very friendly English speaking staff that will help with anything you need. We got talking to other guests and some have been going since 1997, so that speaks for itself! Apartments that face pool are great for the sun, but we were in 119 that is at the back of the comlplex facing the quiet road that staff use to get to work, we found this good for us because it was more private and quiet. There is three ways to get out of the complex, 1 -past a lovely chinese(that does take aways), 2- down the quiet road- a supermarket at bottom and all shops and resturants, 3-out the main gate another supermarket and the mucky duck pub! It is a row behind all shops and resturants which is handy, but when your in la penita you wouldn't think it was so close as it lovely and peacefull. You will not be dissapointed if you book this hotel.

Room Tip: Pool facing was too noisey for a light sleeper because of the road at back, pool facing bottom floor...
