“Lovely Holiday”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 23, 2013

We have stayed twice now and are going again in July.I cannot praise all the Staff enough for their hard work on a daily basis. The Apartments are lovely and cleaned daily by ever smiling Girls they are fab.It is situated in the perfect area just minutes from the Beach and main Strip. Night times is very quiet which is lovely. They used to have quite a few gates for access to the Apartments but have changes that to just one each end which is more secure.

Room Tip: All Rooms are lovely so I think it does not matter.

We have recently returned from our holidays here . Apartments are of a good size , very clean and near to local amenities .
Bedroom has twin beds , plenty storage space, huge wardrobe with a safe that cost extra (10 /15 euros for the week) beds were comfy .
Kitchen with fridge , 2 ring hob , ample crockery & cutlery , pans bowls etc all of which were good size and not chipped etc .
Sitting area had sofa , coffee table , tv , table & chairs .
Bathroom had a small bath which was more of a big shower tray , washbasin & toilet , towels changed most days . Plenty of hot water every day and toilet rolls !
Reception helpful most of the time , staff cheerful apart from the handyman/ gardener who had very little people skills !
Plenty sun beds , mattress to hire , pool was clean but sometimes a bit cold , however we were in it every day .
Some people have not rated these apartments very high but they are only 2* so don't expect too much but for the price we paid we were more than happy , have stayed in 3* places that were worse ?

We stayed at Oasis for seven nights from the 3rd of june 2013 and have nothing but praise for the service and apartments. The accomodation is basic but more than adequate. The apartment was cleaned regularly by a smiling Lidia and towels were changed regularly. We are hoping to return to this little haven again in September. I would highly recommend this place for a chill out holiday...... JAMIE & LYDIA

My girlfriend and I stayed here last week and on our first day after buying food to stack up the fridge to save eating out all week, we were greeted by a family of cockroachs !. The bath was suitable for a small child but not for an adult and the towls were that old they were falling apart. As we needed to leave at 5:30 am fly back to England we asked the reception the night before to arrange for a taxi to pick us up, and she assured us she would do so, this did not happen....no taxi was booked for us so we had no way ofgetting to the airport, luckily we saw a local walking in the street who called one for us. On the brightside the only thing we actually liked was getting up in the morning and being greeted by the man in the pool bar who cooked us a brilliant breakfast ! .

The apartments were quite disappointing. We liked their location and practicalities of how close they were to shops and bars but we were away enough to not have any issues with noise pollution

However for the first 5 days out of our 10 day holiday we had no hot water, there wasn't even enough to fill up the sink to wash-up. The shower was freezing, and the bath wasn't big enough to fit in. We resorted to boiling water and filling the bath and had quite a difficult time trying to wash our hair etc. The reception was only open 9am-7pm which is fair enough, but they were also shut 1pm-4pm. this made it increasingly difficult to get this situation sorted. When we managed to get hold of some staff, the lady on reception seemed surprised that we had no hot water but there was still no apology for it. they sent someone to fix it which took an hour, and again when the man came to check it, we still had no apology. though i don't think he spoke much English so that's understandable.

Another issue we had with the apartments is that there was a main gate, and one on our end of the pool, but there were a few occasions that it was locked so we had to walk all the way around and by the side of the pool, which i don't think is a practical footpath for people who have had a few drinks. We personally didn't have that issue but it was annoying to have to walk all the way up and then all the way back on ourselves to get to our room.

One night while we were getting ready to go out, we had a power cut. Everything cut off but i couldn't tell if it was just our apartment or others as well. I went outside and there was someone outside from a few apartments down that I asked if they still had power, and from what I could gather it was only us that had this issue. They suggested that I have a look at the fusebox. Due to having no lighting this was very difficult to see what to do, as well as the fact that I wouldn't really know what I was doing. I had to fiddle with several switches to get it back on, and even then it still cut out a further 4 times.

The kitchen was basic, there was a hob with 2 rings on it and a kettle and that's it. No toaster or anything. The was no air-conditioning, but the time we were there (May) we didn't have much of an issue with needing air-con. The bedroom was an alright size and there was plenty of wardrobe space. There was a safe in the room which apparently you can pay for at reception but there was no information telling you how to do this or how much it would cost.

The entrance to the apartments is by patio door. There was an issue with this as the lock was the wrong way around and there was a bolt at the top that you could use at night but it was pretty difficult to get in it properly and when the maids came in the mornings they would hammer on the door to be let in.

The apartments were kept pretty clean and tidy by the maids but there was no way of telling them if you wanted the service or not.

Around the pool there was quite a lot of sunbeds but the majority of them were broken. The pool itself was absolutely freezing the whole time we were there.

We were on a top floor apartment, which I was glad of as I had heard things about the noise levels. We could hear next door brushing their teeth and the patio doors were all quite loud.

I know these apartments were cheap, but I think that hot water and electricity fall under the standard must category.

Room Tip: Do not go to these apartments.

We arrived at 21.00 on a Sunday evening. Having looked at the previous reviews recommending a first floor apartment, we headed to reception to check in and do just that. It was closed. There was a piece of paper with our names and an apartment number that had been assigned to us. It was on the ground floor but the couple that was traveling with us were in the apartment next door so it didn't seem too bad. Having gotten into the unlocked apartment and finding the key on the coffee table i went to explore the rest of the apartment. The bathroom is tiny with a pathetic excuse for a bath that is not much bigger than a baby's bath and there was only a small single shelf above the sink for toiletries. The shower was equally as useless and merely dribbled water. The towels ranged from thread bare to new but not washed enough times so when we used them all the fluff came off onto us and i ended up using a beach towel. In a country where you're asked not to put toilet paper down the toilet the bin provided was tiny, had no lid on it and was the other side of the sink to the toilet. The bedroom was a good size with plenty of wardrobe space and 2 single beds. There were ornate bars on the outside of the window in the bedroom for security but the mesh was ripped which meant that if i opened the window for fresh air that bugs would get in.
The only door was the sliding patio door which had a lock in that was installed upside down. There was no patio to speak of as the stairs to the first floor apartments spiraled down to outside the door to our apartment. These stairs are concrete with hollow metal banisters so the sound of people trudging up them at 3am can be heard in the bedroom! We could also hear the upstairs patio doors being opened and closed and the sounds of furniture when someone only moved a kitchen chair about. The walls are paper thin and we could hear our mates in the next apartment use the shower. We came out of the apartment the first night to be greeted by a large cockroach. There are also a large family of cats that patrol the garden area around the apartments and one male urinated up the patio door of our friends apartment meaning it smelt of cat urine for the entire second week we were there.
There is a large pool and the guy who runs the pool bar is lovely. The loungers are hard plastic and if you want a long plastic coated cushion thing for a bit of padding they're a euro per day to rent from reception. Be warned however as the reception was hardly ever open and the crotchety old woman who worked in it yelled at my mate for not being able to return the lounger cushion he had rented for a day as it was closed so he returned it the following morning. I had read on other reviews that you can pay extra to keep the apartment for a few more hours after the usual check out time of 11.30am as there is no left luggage facility but this was not possible as they were full so it mean leaving the luggage sat in reception and then collecting it only after a few hours of being able to spend some time in Lanzarote as the reception closed at 4pn sharp so we ended up sitting by the pool with them until getting picked up a few hours later.

just home from lovley week in the oasis. lovley quiet clean apartments. ok they are basic but everything you need for an easy holiday. very quiet. only a few mins walk to main area and spar just 2 mins away so what more could you want. we could find nothing to complain about. the only worry i would have if you had noisy neighbours[we didnt!!]. the terraces /balconys are very near each other with very little privacy but as i said it wasnt a problem for us. loved the pool. great restaurant called the bodega in the old town and the irish bar called the bodhran well worth a look in. all in all we would go back. great walks all along the sea front .

Room Tip: ask for a apartment upstairs
