“Beatriz Playa Hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 16, 2013

I've stayed at this hotel three times, I love it! The atmosphere is just what I wanted from a holiday, the staff are lovely and can't do enough for you. The rooms are a good size with everything you need in them, bathroom is a very good size and comfortable beds. You can't fault the food, there is always something for you to eat, with a different theme for each night. The spa is beautiful! Such a lovely place to relax, with lovely staff members around. Perfect.

Room Tip: Rooms on the far sides are best, with great views of the beach and aeroplanes.

Stayed at this hotel beginning of December all inclusive for 10 days it ticked all the boxes, food very good staff very friendly handy for the airport .when we arrived they put us in a room on the airport side that was a little to noisy for us but reception moved us to a room with sea view next day no problem the hotel is right on the sea front great for walks to Puerto del Carmen and Arrecife will definitely use this hotel again

Our friends stayed at this hotel. They found the rooms good and the food very good.
However this hotel DOES NOT cater for wheelchair users in any way!!
The "disabled" toilet by reception was totally useless having only two hand rails and a toilet so low that my wife's ears were below her knees!!! UNBELIEVABLE in this day and age!!
The bar area was like being in an underground cave. No disabled toilets in this area, the only one (if you could call it a disabled toilet) was a floor up and by reception. The bar area has little or no atmosphere or ambience it's like a dark dungeon!
If you are disabled and in a wheelchair DO NOT go here!!!!!

Stayed here for a week with my husband in November. Great location across a road to beach, quiet area just a few restaurants and pubs. Nice walking and cycle routes along prom. Hotel is big we stayed half board, breakfast and dinner are good only complaint was food sometimes barely warm but they are feeding a lot of people at meal times. Spa is great worth the 12.00 euro to use. Fridge and kettle cost extra in rooms. Taxi to old town is 5.00 euro and taxi from airport 10.00. Very near airport so lots of planes flying over hotel.
Would stay again but because food is so reasonable in Restaurants would only stay bed and breakfast. Staff very friendly and Rooms spotless,

Room Tip: choose a top floor for a good view.

My wife & I returned home. Sunday 8/12/13 we spent 7 night at the Beatriz playa spa, as a very fussy eater I didn't know what to expect from the all inclusive deal, ( no problem there ). there was not one meal time that I didn't eat the food which was well presented & very tasty. The staff at the hotel are all very friendly. Miguel on the pool bar & main bar is such a wonderful barman, but then ? they all are, I don't usually take my holidays in Europe it's usually long haul for us, but. !! this is one hotel I would really consider going back to, also the bonus was the weather was very good, 22. to. 23. Degrees every day & sunny, thanks everyone at the hotel you made our winter break a great success, well done & a merry Xmas to you all.

I have recently returned from the Beatriz Playa and Spa (1/12/13) and as a previous guest (4) I noticed a few minor points that were not as good as they used to be. I will go through them in order.
The flight.....I booked with Thomas Cook and flew with Thompsons. Why do these airlines spend all their time trying to sell you anything that they can think of. Food where they have to read off every item on the menu (if you have managed to book a ticket in the first place then I would assume that you can read), drinks, lottery scratch cards, duty free and anything else they think will part you from your money?.
The transfer...Hassle free

Book in... Unfortunately when we arrived there the room was not ready, told to come back in an hour and it still was not ready, there was a smaller delay before we could get to the room. It was for us not a big deal as a room was available for our luggage and we were able to go for a meal and a drink. I can imagine though that some of the older guests might have found it tiring.

The room...As always a large spacious area, comfy beds ,sitting area and a good size balcony. The wardrobe doors grated a bit, but what the hell.

Cleanliness...Spotless. Cannot say any more.

Food...Good standard but beware of trying to eat anything that has been grilled then placed under the lights, it gets tough. Breakfast is really good. We chose to eat in the main restaurant for lunch as it is quieter than the pool area. Long queues for evening meals though.

Drinks... As good as any other "all inclusive".

Matagorda... Quieter than most other areas, good walkway all the way to PDC but beware of the cyclists, the seem to think that they have the right of way over any other thing that moves.

Wi-Fi... Not worth the extra expense as you cannot get connected in a lot of areas in the hotel.

Spa.. Fantastic.

Staff.. The staff in this hotel are some of the best that I have encountered in a holiday hotel. They are smart, friendly obliging and professional. The reception are all multilingual, the cleaners are always friendly and the bar staff are quick with a bit of banter if, I do,try out my Spanish on them.

Aircraft.. Not much of a problem, stop flying at about 2100 start again at 0700.

Entertainment.. Never went so cannot comment.

To sum it up, I still think that this hotel is a superb place to relax in the Lanzarote sunshine. No place is 100% perfect but I think the Beatriz is about 90% in my opinion.

I would/will go again.

Room Tip: Rooms on the airport side facing the pool are good. Rooms 1010-1025/2010-2025 give a good view of th...
