“Quiet hotel, good food, good service”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 24, 2012

Good hotel in quieter location, with generally older customers, many German, some UK, some Spanish & Italian. Staff are very friendly but seem a bit overworked. Can take a while to get seated for meals sometimes (I ended up just seating myself if kept waiting for too long, and just grabbed some fresh cutlery myself!)
On the whole a very good hotel, food was generally good, lots of choice.
The fridges in the room do work, but are silent energy efficient ones I think, which might take a little while to chill stuff, but it does work fine. The air-con can be very slow to cool the room but wasn't a problem for me to be honest.
Would recommend for a relaxing all inclusive break.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with afternoon sun.

Excellent hotel, staff, particularly reception, extremely helpful and friendly. We don't usually like buffet dinners, but La Geria provides a mind-boggling variety of dishes, particularly sweets, beautifully presented. Was there in January and was delighted to see well advertised dress code enforced by refusing to admit a man in shorts to dinner. Sadly, in September, although the code is still displayed, several men attended dinner in shorts and tee shirts unchallenged.
For the standard of hotel, value for money is quite outstanding. Highly recommend this hotel.

Room Tip: For quietness, rooms further away from bar area are better

Just got back on Sunday from our first visit of Lanzarote, we will definatley being going back and to the La Geria, the staff were welcoming and helpful, nothing was to much trouble, the choices in the dining room were plenty and the location was to die for. Evening entertainment was varied, really enjoyed a lot of it, but you cant please all the people all the time.
Really enjoyed staying here, went on a few trips, the grand tour was great, it took in most of what the island had to offer and we learned so much; another was diving with Bahianus Club, they are based on the grounds of the hotel, Michael and Michaela were lovely, we enjoyed our experience so much we are already looking at visiting for a week in November to do a diving course with them. Cant wait, and would recomend this to anybody. Nick and Debs

Room Tip: we upgraded and got a top floor room with ocean view

Lovely hotel, immaculately kept. Food plentiful, if a wee bit repetative. Staff very helpful, friendly and hardworking. Lovely promenade walk into Matargorda, and some nice pubs for lunch/drink in the evening. Suitable for couples and families. Close to airport so no worries with transfers. Evening entertainment a bit variable, but something on each evening. Good for a quiet break to recharge the batteries.

Just back from ten days in Puerto del Carmen, staying in the La Geria Hotel. Hotel itself was very good with some great, friendly and helpful staff. Went All Inclusive and the choice of food and quality was excellent. The choice of drink brands was a bit of a let down as those not on AI could pick and choose from a wider selection. Will make us think twice about going All Inclusive in future. However, the friendly staff more than made up for any short-commings which made for a great atmosphere in the hotel.
Highs: Food and Staff
Lows: All Inclusive drinks choice

Room Tip: Go for a higher level room overlooking the pool and sea

Have just returned from Lanzarote after another fabulous week staying at Hotel La Geria. The staff really are what makes the hotel and remembered me from my previous visit.

Out of interest this time, I visited a 5* hotel in another resort and used their swimming pool and bar. I wanted to compare the two and having done so, I'm so glad I stuck with La Geria. I couldn't see any difference in quality and in fact the warmth with which the La Geria staff greet and help you puts it miles ahead.

My last review pretty much says it all with regard to the great quality and variety of food, the wonderful location etc which remain consistently high. As a person who holidays alone, this is an ideal hotel. I felt safe, looked after and valued at all times.

Well done to all the staff and thank you for a wonderful time!
