“Relaxing holiday!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 10, 2014

Returned from this hotel 2 days ago, after spending a week there with a friend. Worried before I went because of reports of break in's. Hired a safe as soon as we arrived , and happily there were no reports of beak in's. We were very happy with the complex. We were AI, and the food was good and choice was good too. The staff in the restaurant and bars were really friendly and helpful. The pool area and loungers were lovely, and the whole place had a lovely relaxed atmosphere.
Location excellent, right in the old town, near to all restaurants and harbour, had a room on 6th floor , views amazing and lovely size balconies. Sun on balconies all day!
The rooms are a bit tired, but ours were clean and we had regular towel and sheet changes. We didn't spend much time in the apartment, so it was fine for us.

You get what you pay for, would go back to this complex and area again. We had a lovely Holiday!

Room Tip: If you can manage the steps ask for a room on a high floor, they have the best views(sea and hills a...

As previously stated you get what you pay for, if you want 4 or 5 star then pay the prices. Were concerned about the reviews of break ins before we went and thought about cancelling but have been here a few times before so decided not to and glad we didn't. Never heard of any break ins while we were there and didn 't see any police about at all in our 9 day stay. Our apartment was cleaned and towels changed every day except Thursday and Sunday but you are advised of this on the leaflet you get when checking in. I agree they do need updating and some apartments have been. We found all staff very pleasant. Can't comment on the food as we were self catering. Would stay here again and the location is superb.

We stayed from 31st December for 1 week - it was great! The apartment was more than adequate, located above the reception area over looking the pool and sea. We went self catering so I cannot comment on the food or the bar as we never got drinks from there, we bought our food and drink in and ate out in the evenings. The old town was great, found a great bar on day one and saw new year in there it was fantastic. Couldnt fault the weather, came back with a lovely tan. Found nice places to eat in old town, went to the new town but was a little too in your face and commercialised for us. I would definately go back and probably will at some point throughout the year.

Room Tip: Ask for an upgraded room over looking the pool.

I do not understand the positive feedback from this hotel. Avoid this hotel at all cost. I cant list all the faults as I don't have enough time! basically all rooms have brown water, if you run the shower you wont see it try the bath which is the same water trust me you will see. We complained several times, attempts to fix it was made with no success. We were told all rooms are the same as the pipes are close to ground ???? and when it gets hot it happens. The apartments are very run down and not very clean. On our second night we noticed lots of splats of blood from the pool side all the way up a few flights of stairs this was not cleaned at all and still clearly visible when we went home 5 days later. This hotel needs to have health and safety inspection as it is failing in lots of areas.

Room Tip: apparently the higher your room is the less likely you will get burgled

Must say that reading other peoples reviews on this hotel had me very worried but it was needless worry as myself and my friend had a great week here mid march , the staff are very friendly and helpful , food plentiful although a bit repetetive ,we was all inclusive and made the most of bars lol . our apartment was nice although we only used it to sleep and shower .try and get room 318 or 319 if poss
Great location with stunning views , bars and pubs within easy reach and the main strip is not too far but would advise you get a cab back up (3e) , we only saw 1 policeman during our week stay which was a relief having heard of the many break ins , best thing to do is get a safe as soon as you check in , we checked our windows were always locked before going out for the night . Met some great people and cant wait for our return visit next march .

Like everyone else i was a little dubious about the reviews but i have the attitude that you cant knock it til you try it so it was really surprised that these reviews to me where very unfair, Yes the apartments are in need of a refurb but the maid service all inclusive food and drink and especially the views from our room which was 621 were fantastic We couldnt have been happier .The restaurant and bar staff were very courteous and friendly and choices of dishes were varied on a daily basis.Theres no need to take a taxi to the strip the walk is very enjoyablethere is a beautiful walk from the harbour up the zig zag steps along the cliff side to puerto calero takes about 40 minutes the views are amazing youl need to wear trainers though . beautiful chapel two mins from hotel says mass on sunday morning even had dana singing hymns in the background really nice. Mulligans Oreilleys and had live music really good nights but have to say in irish harbour bar we were asked if we were having another drink and if not could we give our seats to some one else so much for customer service so obviously didnt go back again. .hotel entertainment consisted of bingo and singers who performed just two nights of our fourteen night stay if there was more caberet night we wouldnt have left to go somewhere else thats the only pity .overall a great stay and hopefully wel be back soon

.

Room Tip: rooms on 6th floor have fantastic views although there are quite a few steps but its worth it

I returned to the BelleVue Aquarius for the second time having stayed here previously last June.
I was a little nervous about staying here after reading the amount of break-ins that have happened recently. I always locked my belongings in the safe or had my valuables on me at all times. Every night I saw security men walking around so that made me feel safer. We had no problems for the week we were there.

The pool and bar area is really nice. The loungers are new and comfortable. The pool is freezing though! I found the bar staff to be helpful. The reception staff during the day were helpful and approachable. I did have problems communicating with the night time receptionist when needed a first aid kit. I understand I am in Spain, but surely a receptionist should be bilingual!
My main disappointment with the hotel is the cleanliness of the rooms. The maids did not clean the floors properly or clean the bathroom. The towels were not changed as often as they should be. If you walked in the room barefoot, your feet got dirt all over them. We had 4 people in a room and we had to ask for more towels every day which wasn’t always easy to get from the rude maids! The maids were rude and did not seem to care that they weren’t doing their job properly.

I do not expect 4/5 star luxury for the price I paid for a room. This is a basic complex, however the hotel manager should make it a priority to clean up the rooms and hire maids that do the job they are paid to do. They are really letting the place down.

The best restaurants in Puerto Del Carmen are in the area close to the hotel. There is also plenty of bars close by. Taxis are not very expensive, so a quick taxi ride (or a 10 minute walk) to the more lively part of the resort where you will find plenty bars and clubs.

I would return to the area. I enjoy being in a quiet area with nice restaurants where it is just a short distance for livelier entertainment.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a balcony. Rooms on pool level would be better for people that have mobility i...
