This hotel is approximately 20 minutes from the airport and in close proximity to the Old Port with local restaurants, bars and shops but it is tucked away from the main road. It is also just a short walk away from the main area or "strip" of Puerto del Carmen. The local area and hotel grounds are not suited to the less mobile due to the steep slopes and numerous stairs / steps.
The reception is manned 24/7 and all the staff were polite, helpful and spoke a good level of English. Here there was plenty of general information available to read about local attractions, hotel information and the travel companies who sell holidays to the hotel. The public areas of the hotel, including the pool were cleaned on a daily basis and well maintained. There were plenty of sunbeds / umbrellas available and they were all of a good quality. There was always a lifeguard on site during the pool opening hours.
The All-Inclusive (AI) option is great value for money, there was a decent variety of meals / drinks available throughout most of the day, although the drinks stop at 11pm. On certain evenings, the food was based on a country such as Mexico, Italy, Chinese etc. The bar staff were generally efficient but could be a little slow at times. There was a large choice of drinks available on the AI option. The food was always hot and there was plenty available even if you went in for your meal towards the end of the time allowed. The restaurant staff were quick to clear the tables and serve you with drinks during your meals. They were all very polite and spoke a good level of English.
There was little or no entertainment available in the hotel but there was the option of visiting the local bars where there was an excellent choice of live music available. A particularly good bar was "Scotch Corner."
Apartments were spacious, pleasantly furnished and well laid out with a digital card lock system. They had various cooking equipment and a fridge available if you had chosen the self catering option. The bathroom offered both shower and bath facilities. There was no air-conditioning in the rooms but there were large ceiling fans that provided a good level of temperature control. There were some elements within the apartment that were in need of minor repair but nothing dangerous or of any consequence. There was a daily maid service and towels / sheets were changed at least once a week.
I would definitely recommend this hotel as a good value holiday and I plan on revisiting again in the future.
