“Good food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 24, 2012

Just arrived back from Puerto del Carmen. We ate twice in El Ancla. Such a good selection of food and quite reasonably priced. Youy must try the Gambas al ajillo en espaguetti.

“Not fab”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 20, 2012

Nice restaurant in a nice location but we did not have a very sucessful evening. I ordered a well done fillet steak in pepper sauce. When it arrived the steak was rare, I called a waiter who took it away. He returned about two minutes later with a well cooked one so I don't know if they had just brought me the wrong one or if they had somehow managed to cook a well done steak in minutes. My husband had a T bone steak, this was cooked to his liking but he said it had a lot of gristle in it and was not great. Looking around other people had some nice looking pasta meals and the staff were nice and very appolagetic but with so many restaurants to choose from in the area we decided not to bother returning.

“Visit so many times”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 17, 2012

My mum n dad discovered this little gem while on holiday in the old town - when i went with them last year, i fell in love! Went back again this year :P Delicious food, such a big choice on the menu, fast and friendly service, - a right treat watching the sheer accuracy of the boules players.

“First impression great but left a bitter taste”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 7, 2012 via mobile

Went here on the first evening of our two wk holiday had a lovely meal with good service. Went back again no complaints. Third time was a disaster. Seemed too busy for staff to cope and we waited ages for our order to be taken and our starters to arrive. However before we were finished our starters our main course was brought to the table. The waiters pushed our starters to the side and dumped our mains in front of us. When we complained we weren't ready our starters were removed by another waiter. Staff were quite rude and really didn't care about our complaints. Needless to say we didn't return there for the rest of our holiday.
