Abusive staff, shooddy rooms, Bad location, and outright lies! DO NOT STAY HERE
The door handle in the bathroom fell off, (temperarally locking mum in!)
Do not go in the spa pools- They are cold, they stop having bubbles after 7pm! and they have so much clorine in them they will turn/RUIN your BLACK togs a metalic brown colour! -
I told the manager this and he RUDELY CALLED MY CELL PHONE AND ABUSED ME
The games room, as per the website- well its a room with a few pinball games you pay for!
Terrible location- if your 80 its ok but if you want to be within 15 minuates drive of ANYTHING dont go here.
Highlight of the stay- one lady receptionist was awesome

We have stayed at the Isle of Palms on more than one occasion and have found the rooms to be clean, comfortable and fully functional, no they are not the most modern but you are not paying top dollar for it, they have great family rates.
If you want a proper resort, modern, contempo, funky or sleek, definitely look elsewhere. This is not a resort as most would expect a resort to be, I would class it as self catering holiday apartments. There is no room service, the restaurant on site is often not open and they do not have basic concierge, so no not a resort in my opinion.
Yes, there are many locals who reside here but like anywhere there are good and bad neighbours, we have never had a problem. We have not encountered nor seen any of the violence or drug use reported by the previous poster whose comments sound very harsh. States they live there for short stint so may be a disgruntled tenant themselves who may have been asked to leave or could be stating facts, point is, we do not know. We do know as a family we have always enjoyed the location & convenience of the place and would be happy to return.

as this is supposed to be classified as a resort it is not the carpets are disgusting and be dyed a different color it is noisy and full of residential people that should have moved in to a slum like area the place is dirty and not a pleasant place to stay some people put baby's with nappy's on in the spars and the spars are filthy nothing against the public housing system but some housing areas are slums and this rates with them i lived there for over 6 months and found it to be a living nightmare they have people with dogs ,cats , and birds living on what is not an island but a land spit and that is what i do spit every time i think of that horrible hell hole no one can say any thing about the people that own there as you get told to leave talk to the local police and they will soon let you know what happens in there not some where i will take my kids to again we also saw syringes and other drug apparel that had been dropped break and enters and fights happen regularly the one security that some time comes around told us that it is well known by the police as a bad area the management are arrogant and unhelpful and only are AFTER YOUR MONEY go else where any where else you will get better accommodation else where they don't have a restaurant in service and most of the back packer drink machines steels your money you have to pay to use the BBQ s which some times work a shameful place to go on the gold coast please stay away as the locals in there don't want tourists in there housing estate

Room Tip: go somewhere else

My husband and I stayed for 5 days and had a wonderful time. Very well priced with lots to do on the Island. We love tennis so played many games and then could relax by the pool after. We will be coming back for sure.

My wife and I needed a holiday break to get away from the drudge of working. We found The Isle of Palms the perfect answer. Rooms were clean, staff were friendly and resort is close to shops and points of interest. Thoroughly recommended.

Room Tip: Unit by the water.

I use this website on a regular basis, for my family and i. As we do go on holidays a fair bit. I did how ever take into note about, what has been written about the Isle of palms. I choose to take accommodation there, also for the location and facilities, and what it had to offer. Everyone has a right for there own opinion. I choose to see for myself. With that been said.......... I don't have a bad word to say about the Isle of palms. The unit was immaculate and we could not of been happier. We were located on the lake, and everything was perfect. My children thoroughly loved the pool, and games room. I was very pleased with all of the staff and manager there. They could not accommodate our needs any more. With the pines shopping centre right in front, and a short 5 mins to the beach..... What more could we want. Thankyou Isle of palms. We will be back.
