“Great Resort”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 22, 2012

The resort has good amenities, a big swimming pool, cable TV, good food, among others. The place is ideal for families or company outings. We were there August 2012, after more than 2 weeks of rain so the water at the beach was not ideal for swimming. Brewed coffee was available all day for free and the resort provided towels for clients using the pool. All these plus a courteous staff makes this place a great resort.

We've just spent a 2D/1N vacation here, and everything is just wow. The hotel and rooms are a 4-star quality! Nice clean rooms, toilet & baths, beds, furnitures. We've not experienced any faulty fixtures. We loved the veranda in our room which is overlooking the pool and beach, plus the clothes' hanger area in it. This was the first time we've seen one in a hotel room. The big infinity pool outside is so clear and very nice to swim in to, and it's not that clorinated, not eye-iritating. Foods are amazing! A bit pricey for me, but still a plus.

What I dislike here are the slow wifi connection in the hotel, and the small beach front.

Overall, I highly recommend it.

Room Tip: Second floor rooms have bigger verandas.

We were amazed that such a hotel can be found in far off Laiya, San Juan, Batangas! The hotel is kinda different from its Laiya neighbors like the popular Blue Coral, the not so well-maintained White Cove and Kabayan Resorts, and the smallish but somewhat expensive Aquatico and Virgin Resorts.

The lobby is like a mini version of Shangri la Makati and the scenic elevator is one of a kind in this area. ALL rooms face the huge infinity pool and beach, with veranda to boot! Rooms are furnished with two huge beds, refrigerator, flat screen tv (limited cable channels though), safety deposit box, and the usual amenities. The only problem was that the wifi was not working in the rooms and can only be accessed with limited success in the lobby and pool areas.

Food is very good and the staff are well-trained and friendly. Breakfast is free and fruits are served fresh, especially super sweet mangoes that they harvest from the nearby orchard which is also owned by the hotel. They also bake their own bread and is really yummy! We even bought some to take home!

It's quite far from Manila, but if you take the Star toll all the way to Ibaan exit, then you'll drastically cut your travel time to around 2 hours.

There's also some juicy gossip about who really owns the hotel and how he was able to purchase such a property which adds to the interest in staying in Estrellas.

Room Tip: Some rooms have a drainage problem so ask the front desk to be transferred as soon as you smell some...

We stayed in this hotel n March 2012 during my 40th bday. We have stayed in Aquatico and we wanted to try out other resorts. As we find rooms in aquatico small and the pool small. The room is very spacious as well as the bathroom. They have good size refrigerator which is a necessity in a tropical setting. The beach is good as you can go very far when the water gets Low. You can also walk to the neighboring beach were there are mangroves. When we were there a wedding was being done so it's quite busy. They have a very good size pool compared to Aquatico. They should improve on the food quality.breakfast was so so... And we had dinner and the taste is not as good as well.. In here Aquatico is better as that resort have good food. Also the air on is dripping in the balcony. Quite dangerous for kids.. Overall if you like space. Good beach. Big pool. I would recommend this resort just don't expect too much from their food.

5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 28, 2012 via mobile

Our family has decided to spend a night in a resort in Laiya San Juan Batangas.. We first tried to book in acuatico but its always fully booked.. A friend of my mom recommended Estrellas de Mendoza. When i checked their website, my sister and i got amazed of the pictures and when i checked trip advisor, with the positive reviews, i immediately called up and asked the availability of a cabana and the reservation procedure.

I was assisted well and was given sufficient information on our accommodation.. Please note that the reservation was made more than a month because as everybody's worries, laiya resorts are in their peak season..

It was a 3 1/2 drive from cavite if you take star toll via ibaan exit.. Someone advised us not to take the lipa exit because it will take the trip longer.. When we reached rosario, i told my family that we better eat before we check in cause as it is expected, hotel restaurants are alot pricey than those outside.. There is a jollibee outlet there.. But since rosario is about 50 to 60 kms away from the resort, i told them to look for another fastfood outlet in san juan.. Unfortunately, there is none in san juan town proper.. On our way, we saw an eatery in a gasoline station and took our lunch there.. The bicol express is good!!

Upon arrival, we were greeted by the gate guards and were directed at the reception.. Check in time is 2pm. We arrived earlier but we were sent to our cabana immediately.. Upon entry, we were amazed by the infinity pool..

The cabana is well recommended for families as this gives more than enough space for everyone. We were 7 adults and a kid.. There were 4 beds, 2 queen sized and 2 twin sized.. Since the beds are big, we did not anymore asked for the extra bed which is included in the package..

The bathrooms are spacious and are clean.. The kitchen as well is useful and very clean.. The sala with the television, ( where my father loved to stay) offers a sofa comfortable enough to use..

We first tried the beach.. It was safe and clean too.. We loved the view of the sunrise and sunset.. Lot of pictures with nice background were taken there..

The best is the infinity pool.. It is huge and clean.. It is being cleaned daily and the water is not eye irritating..

We ate dinner at the restaurant.. The food is ok but pricey..

After dinner, we ended our day with a room massage.. Worth P400.00 per hour.. My mother enjoyed it as it is very relaxing.. We slept well and comfortably in our beds..

Buffet breakfast was served daily at 7am.. Everything served was ok.. We ate alot and had our stomachs full until lunch..

Check out was fast enough and assistance by everyone is grade A..

All in all, i recommend Estrellas de Mendoza!! It's Simply Amazing!!

Stayed in one of their 2nd floor cabanas nearest to the beach. It had two bedrooms, a living room with a wall mounted LCD TV, a dining room with kitchen (furnished with a ref, microwave oven & eating utensils) & a veranda overlooking the pool. It had a fairly good view of the beach through the kitchen and a little bit from the living room & veranda. It could have been designed more appropriately if the intention was to emphasize the beach and not the hotel building & the pool area. Upon arrival, we had to call housekeeping to have the veranda cleaned of too much bird droppings.Nevertheless, they quickly responded.
When we arrived around 5pm, it was already low tide so we decided to just take a short stroll along the beach before heading for an early dinner buffet in one of their function halls on the 7th floor. The scenic elevator added a nice touch to all guests who will definitely appreciate the nice view. Food was ok. After dinner, my youngest son & I decided to take a dip in the pool. Temperature of the pool for night swimming was just right. They allowed us to swim until 10pm.
I had a comfortable sleep but woke up early finding the room too bright because the yellow curtains highlighted the early sunrise. Not wanting to make a fuss about it, I headed to the veranda & found people heading to the beach at the break of dawn. The tide had already came in & everybody had a great time in the beach the whole day. They have all sorts of water activities like kayaking, banana boat ride, island hopping but we decided to try the jetski. Waters were calm & we had the whole stretch of Laiya to explore. My eldest son & I definitely enjoyed it.
Overall, we liked our stay in this resort! Hope they'll be able to keep the facilities in tip top condition!

We stayed in Estrellas de Mendoza for our company outing. The room was great and the personnels were very nice! They kept their facilties very well. And everyone was very accommodating! The food was amazing and very very generous - we got a buffet breakfast, lunch and dinner! Securities are everywhere. Their elevator gives a cool overview of their resort. The only downside of this place is that it is far and the resort is not easy to locate.
