“nice and quiet with a wonderful view”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 23, 2012

i stayed at the pension Dream for 3 weeks (due to work). the owner was very helpful and kind, For everything i needed i just had to ask!
my room was on the top with a huge veranda, perfect view and very quiet, excactly what i needed so i could work easier.
the maid was also very helpful and sweet..she even put me a laundry and wash my dishes everyday!
the room was very clean with a comfortable queen size bed, wifi, fully equipped kichen. the only problem was at the bathroom where the pressure of the water was low

We had an early arrival in Samos by overnight ferry and went searching for somewhere to stay. After looking at a couple of so so hotels, we came up the hill to Dreams and were meet by the friendly female manager. We had a look at a couple of rooms - both ok but we chose the bigger one.

Overall it is a comfortable and clean place to stay. Very quiet. We had very little contact with either the manger or owner in our three days there. It's up the hill from the port, but that is only 2-3 minutes walk. There is free wifi as well.

If I were going to Samos again, I'd probably stay in Pythagoreio for a couple of nights - although that is far more touristy, and the restaurants do not seem as good as in Samos town. Stay at least one night in Samos town if you go to Samos, and Pension Dreams is a pretty good place to stay when there.

We were really happy for the full week we were there. Rooms clean, clean, clean. Washing done for nothing. Wifi very good. Good price at 30euro (discounted for length of stay).Great balcony views for glass of wine. Mother was not to be seen. Costas was great and helped when our card got lost.

Close to the port, a slight walk up but nothing too difficult. The place was very clean and the owner was very nice. It was low season so no one else was there but overall a great place to stay.

We arrived on Samos without a place to stay and after walking along the waterfront we bumped into Kostas. He'd obviously spotted us from a mile off and was quick to offer us a room. At this point we hadn't realised Dreams was recommended in Rough Guide but after a four night stay we could see why.
The room was bright, spacious, clean and felt like a proper Greek pension. The room was cleaned everyday. The bathroom though small, was clean and there was always plenty of hot water.
The beds were comfortable but the pillows too hard for our liking.
The separate kitchen was equipped with everything we needed. Kostas was also very helpful throughout our stay in ensuring we had all we needed.
The room had a TV with all the usual Greek satellite channels.
Our room had a very large balcony that was ideal for evening meals and coffee in the morning. This overlooked some gardens and the harbour, and was peaceful and quiet.
Dreams is located up a stepped street (approx 35) about 10 minutes walk from the port and 5 minutes from the main square.

We went to Samos on vacations for a week and we booked the attic of the pension Dreams having in mind that it is close to the center of the capital. During the second day, the mother of the owner came to our room and asked me to take care of my kids, because they annoyed her with their games. Next afternnon, she knocked our door again. She was too aggressive and she asked us to leave the room saying that she -and not her son- was the owner of the house! A few minutes later her son appeared and he suggested we should stay somewhere else, because he wouldn't like to see his mother disturbed. So, we had to leave the room 3 days earlier than we had planned...

The kids(2&4 years) were playing dangerous games on the skylight, the mother got scared and asked to pay better attention ,after all it"s 3 floors high. This was taken wrong, unfortunately.
We are sorry our concern was mistaken for rudeness.

Arrived on an overnight ferry from Syros arriving early morning into Vathi and were keen to find somewhere to stay, but unlike some islands there was no 'reception committee' at the port so we headed into town. We met the enthusiastic owner along the coast strip and he took us up to the property to show us the rooms he had available, the one we chose had a large balcony and a full size bathroom (albeit the decor in the latter was frightful!) which was 35Eur per night. The room was a reasonable size and very clean and tidy with the facility to heat water for drinks and a fridge; the view from the balcony over the harbour was really lovely. The property is in a quiet elevated position above the port and whilst we didn't have a problem with the many steps up to the property, some people may do depending on their level of fitness. We found some very good reasonably priced Tavernas one block back from the harbour and found Vathi to be a very pleasant place to stay for the few days we were on the island of Samos.
