“Oasi nel mezzo della Comunitat Valenciana”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 4, 2012 via mobile

For those who feel like having a couple of days to unwind from a city visit, this hotel is the right place. Located just a couple of hours from Valencia,it's a true oasis in the middle of a very dry and hot area. The structure reminds a lot the one of Thai and Balinese hotels. Ideal for families and couples.
The city of Elche doesn't offer any interesting attraction, so if one goes, should bare in mind he'll basically spend all the time at the hotel. Excellent value for money!

I booked four rooms for our family for our last night of our holiday, it was a Saturday night and this was the problem, the hotel was hosting three weddings, which is fine, except to get bar service was impossible as all the staff were busy attending to the preparations and we felt very much in the way, the restaurant was empty so we opted to walk into the city, which being August was also pretty empty, we did find a lovely restaurant nearby for a good Spanish meal, although we were the only guests.
I would go and stay again, but I would check to see if there was any weddings booked first.
The rooms are quite small but very comfortable and in seperate buildings situated throughout the grounds which gives it a very tropical feel. My duaghters room had a problem with the drains and smelt awful, the water in the shower overflowed and caused the bathrooom and bedroom to flood. she ended up washing her hair in the sink. We woudl have asked to change rooms, but they were full and she didn't mention it until dinner, by which time it was too late.
It is a shame that they have to have the weddings in the public area, they close the pool to place flowers on it, so if you are planning to swim during your stay be warned !
We had wanted to try the restaurant as this is one of the main features of the hotel, so we were disspointed overall.

Room Tip: Ask if they have any weddings booked and if the restaurant is open before you book !

This was a surprise trip for our wedding anniversary. My wife had no idea where we were going.
I booked a double room and intended to book for the restaurant on the Saturday evening to celebrate our wedding anniversary on arrival at the hotel.
During check-in I asked to book for the restaurant (which has good reviews) to be told it was 'fully booked'. In actual fact, it was not fully booked but closed as they were catering for a wedding. There is a difference! If I book a 4 star hotel, I expect to have all the 4 star facilities available to me. On arrival at our room, I found we had twin beds pushed together! Not the most romantic. The room itself was clean, spacious and pleasant. Rooms are bungalow type and set around lovely palm-filled gardens.
We decided to eat lunch at the pool side cafeteria. We were left sitting for 20 minutes before we were asked what we would like to drink! The food (when it eventually arrived) was fine. However, we did not receive our bread (which is normally served immediately in Spain) until we had nearly finished our meal! My wife asked for butter with her's but never received any!
In the evening we had to walk into town to find a place to eat. We just wanted a relaxing weekend staying onsite of the hotel with no stress! The hotel could have recommended somewhere during check-in, but did not! Neither did the receptionist inform us of breakfast times etc...
As the restaurant does come with a good reputation we booked for the following evening. The service was much better and the food was delicious. We had cocktails afterwards in the bar that were reasonably priced.
On check-out we were asked the usual question 'How was you stay?' When we complained the receptionist just tried to brush us off with excuses. Don't ask the question if you don't want a truthful answer that might improve your facility in the future then! We suggested that the hotel should inform guests that the restaurant will be closed during part/all of their stay depending on how long they are staying. We were told that this was not the hotel's policy. Well, it ought to be! If they are catering for weddings, other paying guests should not be put to the bottom of the pile. The two things should be kept separate. The wedding was catered for outside in the gardens- with more staff the restaurant could still have served food inside for other guests!
Due to the poor service and 'couldn't care less attitude' I would not recommend this hotel.

This hotel is very nice with all its palm trees and cosy bungalows. It's quiet and away from it all.
The room looked exactly like it did on the pictures on the website and was clean and in good shape.
The pool was great, lots of options for finding shade from the sun.
We had dinner in the hotel restaurant and it was really great. We also had lunch at their cafe and it was very nice food.
They have a breakfast buffet with more or less everything you could eat for 10 EUR, and we ended up eating there most mornings.
The only thing we missed was that pretty much all the staff did not speak English, but they where very friendly and tried their best.

Right next to the tiny, but exquisite Huerto del Cura itself, this affiliate hotel of the Paradors was fantastic; rooms were good; food (Els Capellans) was great and its location fabulous; we also stayed at its sister Hotel Jardin Milenio where the service, food (La Taula) and rooms were slightly better, but the location not so good. Grounds of both hotels were great too with swimming pools.

Room Tip: Choose the Jardin Milenio hotel for quieter inside luxury; the Hotel Huerto del Cura has a more trop...

My partner and I stayed at this hotel for just one night before returning to the UK. It is located just off a small side road, glad we used the sat nav!

Total paradise. A very Spanish hotel and quite busy due to a wedding being held there over the weekend.

The room was everything we could have wished for. Very romantic, comfortable and luxurious.

The pool and the gardens were lovely. We ate lunch around the pool which was vary tasty and reasonably priced. The breakfast was exceptiona with so much to choose from.

Elche itself is a typical Spanish city with some fantastic architecture. Tapas bars and ice cream parlours dominate the main area aound the square.

Wish we could have stayed longer - would love to return.

Room Tip: There are 81 bungalows, some located around the pool some located further back. Ask for a room by th...

We were staying for 4 days, ending staying a week.
Pool is a lovely area both shady and sunny the water not to cold. You can eat or drink near pool but not at its side. Cafeteria snack food is very good [try the Hamburger with chips, I know, but not like any burger].

The food in the Dining room is served outside at night is very good, but we only eat there once.

Love the way all places in Spain serves drink, they take the bottle to your table and pour till you say stop, sapphire gin or better etc, hotel prices are very reasonable.

Found a Large Ice machine and Iron and Iron board plus shoe polisher in a small shed near the center of the villas.

We had Villa 136 set of 3 near the pool. The room was spotless, simple and comfortable the bathroom, bath /shower, two basins, bidet and toilet, there was shaver, gel , shampoo, body lotion, toothbrush, shoe cleaner, comb, cap and soap bars. The air condition is very good very quite and doesn't turn off when the lights etc does, so after hard shopping etc back to a cool room, rest then off to the pool. TV only had 2 English channels a few French, 1 Italian, 3 German the rest Spanish, however watching Espana Euro 2012 in Spanish far more exciting.

Reception spoke good English and looked after us well, the waiter and waitress have an understanding of English but tried hard to understand and get what you wanted thanks Susana.

Overall the hotel is a calm oasis in the middle of a city, no noise very clean, central and dine in or out not going to break the bank.

The bar and Dining room are quite dark the dining room used between 2pm to 5pm only.

Never tried the breakfast served in a separate room with Glass walls looked a big buffet. For 10 euro looked very good deal. We went to the center Of Elche 5 min walk the cafes sold white coffee with toast for 1.5 Euro or bakers big cheese and ham slice (hot) and coffee 2 Euros each.
Take your choice.
