“Bugs, body hair and bloody pillows!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed November 3, 2012 via mobile

My colleagues and I stayed here for a few hours to rest up after taking the red eye from IAD to CDG... the price was right for just a few hours of sleep. I won't be going back. The hotel was close to CDG but very hard to find... the GPS didn't take us to the correct location. Check in was easy and the staff was pleasant. Then it went downhill. The rooms are in two very old buildings behind the reception area. Mine smelled of cigarettes and mold. I counted 23 dead bugs on the walls (mostly Mosquitos). Upon entering the bathroom I found a very large ummm "body hair" on the toilet. At this point I was laughing so hard I texted my colleague who was in a different room. He texted back a picture of the pillow on his bed complete with blood stains! Top that off with the constant noise of low flying jets and barking dogs and you get a place suited for maybe backpackers, or prisoners?

This Campanile was clean and tidy, with friendly, informative staff. The range of food available for breakfast was wide, fresh and well presented. The rooms are small, but there is room for luggage. Smoking rooms next door made a negative impression on us.

Although the guide shows this location to be 8 miles from the airport, the reality is that both taxi drivers choose to take main roads. It raises the cost of the one night's stay to 180 Euros, excluding dinner and breakfast. The place itself is ok and has an offbeat sort of charm, but better to plan ahead and make a reservation at one of the airport locations.

We were booked into this hotel by Air France when our flight to New York was delayed. We were so tired from travelling and the wait at the airport that we were just glad of somehwere to relax. Room was an ok size was was clean and tidy. I have to mention that it was freezing though, my friend sat under the duvet the whole time we were in the room. We did have a small TV but all channels were in French ( Obviously as in France) But even a CNN or BBC News would have been good. We walked into the small town to have something to eat, there were no restaurants but found a supermarket and a lovely bakery which sold the most amazing pasrties. We were given a meal voucher to eat downstairs but were too tired. Breakfast was the usual French style, it was fresh and tasty. I would recomment this if you are planning a trip and need an over night stay near the airport and on a budget. There were a few other hotel nearby that looked slightly more upmarket, but if all you need is a somewhere for a night to chill out it fits the bill, but ask for a heater!

What can I say? This was a last resort organised by tourist information. Can't complain too much about the facilities but the problems encountered does not fill one with confidence. We had a nice 1st floor room overlooking open spaces. A group of local 'kids' started throwing bangers at the large hotel advertising sign tied to our balcony. A quick 'OY' from me served only to disperse them until they returned with bricks and bottles!! This went on for some time.. The staff seemed bemused at best with the situation and apparantly too afraid to deal wuith the broken bottles and debris until the bombardment was apparantly over...suffice to say the glass etc was still there in the morning. Poor service. Have refrained from complaining to campanile in case of an international incident. (Gordon Brown has enough on his plate!!)

For our last night in Paris we decided to take a room at the hotel Campanile in Ecouen, RN 16 La Redoute Du Moulin 95440 Ecouen.north of Paris, free parking, about 20 minutes from the airport on little country roads. It was clean , quiet and just big enough to be able to redo all the suitcases before the flight. The only problem was the bed/mattress was awfully uncomfortable. We had room 46. Cost 61 euros . Staff was nice. If they spoke english ? Otherwise if you have a car, you can still tour and shop a little more and be safely away from the traffic jams of Paris.
