“Majje ne life”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 23, 2013

We were a group of 8 and stayed for 2 days at Hill Zill. Had a time of our lives since we all met after a long time. Spent most of our time in the pool. Fish tandoori and butter chicken s the highlight. Good rooms and the staff is helpful. But i feel the restaurant could have been better. On the whole good value for money. Would recommend if you have your own vehicle.

Room Tip: We stayed in non ac farm house bungalow @ 4800 per day

After long working week took a break, driving to Hill Zill 3hrs from Borivali with my wife was a good experience. It was good to be in a peaceful and quite environment. Food is delicious no doubt. Seafood is a must try here. We stayed in a pool view room 301, which was one of the best rooms. Receptionist Asmita was very helpful during the stay. There aren't much activities at the Resort. It is a place for Nature lovers. Would definately plan another trip in coming days. Overall a good place for relaxation on weekend.

Room Tip: Pool view rooms are better.

We had been there in the weekend of 25th Jan 2013. We were told that there would be bath tubs available in each room but on reaching there we found out that there were tubs not available at all in the resort. Looks like the guy who answered the phone does not know difference between the bath tub and swimming pool and got confused among them (giving them the benefit of doubt). When we inquired, we were told extra charges per bed. But on checkin we realized even that conversation had change to extra charges per person. So I have a 6 year old who sleeps with us (no extra beds required) and need to pay for him. Please make all their terms clearer. The rooms are dirty and the pillows are the worst smelly lot. The ACs are all locked and you need to call them 5 times to get their attention to get drinking water and towels and get it unlocked. We were in the super delux (Rs. 2200/-) and felt it like a 1 star. Pity the conditions of the other rooms. The swimming pool has a lot of tiles on the front side damaged and a kid can easily cut get his fingers/toes torn. There is no side bars in the shallow side of the pool thereby anyone who is learning cannot even hold of it. The water though was good and pleasant. The hotel food was really good. It was relatively expensive even more expensive than the 4 star Treat Resort, Silvassa. There are no hangers available in the bathrooms for the swimming costume and had to invent ways of using the normal cloth hanger to be used for the same. No mosquito repellent provided. The USP of the room is it has a view, but unfortunately the balcony view is nothing great. There is only one TT table and one carrom available which was full always. Did not even get chance to play as it was pre-occupied always. The other games are all broken. No more kid activites available. The overall experience was horrible and I would advise guys to avoid it. There are better resorts available which are clean and provide better services.

Room Tip: Do not go for the 2200/- room. The USP is view and there is none.

We had been there in month of August 2011 for a long weekend getaway.
I personally enjoyed the stay there because of atmosphere in monsoon. They have rain dance organized on request. Food is average and nothing great about it. Rooms were poor as it was dirty and had lizards to accompany. It is recommended stay for a long weekend getaway for Mumbaikars from their busy life being easily reachable even if you don't have private vehicle.
However if you wish lavish, romantic stay then it is not the place you would be looking for.

Guests please note that the Hotel charges 2% service charge if you opt for credit card payment. This information was not given when I did the booking especially when I had asked whether credit cards are accepted. Food is good. The Club room is nice and cheap as it can house atleast 10 people but maybe it would be better if there is a mirror & clothesline (to dry you swim wear etc.) in the room. Also maybe its time to upgrade the water slide in the childrens pool.

The first time I went there was almost 15 years ago, when I was a kid. I remember really enjoyed at that time. I had similar satisfying experience when I recently went there a week ago. The place hasn't changed much, construction wise. It still has the swimming pool and a small garden where we played cricket. The rooms are a little old, but clean, I couldn't ask more for the reasonable tariff I was paying. Food is slightly pricey but taste is great! We really enjoyed the butter chicken with chilled beer. Sea food is good too, but we thought the quantity was a little less. There were games for everyone in the evening, housie and music. Overall a perfect getaway for a nice and short family vacation.

A special mention of the two daughters of the family who own this place, that they were doing an excellent job of managing the kitchen and the entire resort, which I thought was a difficult job given that the entire resort was occupied.

Hill Zill resort is a good place to catch up with your friends overweekend. The food is good, esp for non-veg eaters. Prawns, pomfret & local chicken is worth trying out. The rooms are also well arranged. The hotel manager was kind enough to let us arrange our own barbeque party. Recommended place. They should slightly maintain the sport equipments that they provide on hire. Rest alls fine!

Room Tip: Ask for non-swimming pool facing room
