“Stunning views and settings...”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 4, 2013

We stayed at the Six Senses Yao Noi just the week before our wedding dinner together with my in-laws and relatives just recently in October and were blown away by the setting of the resort.

Granted that transfer time taken from Phuket Intl Airport to Yao Noi can be a bit tiring but you will quickly find much relief upon sighting of Yao Noi and even more so when you are greeted with the sight of the hotel set amidst lush tropical fauna.

We were delighted with the sightings of Hornbills upon arriving at our Villa which, coupled with a panoramic view of the sea, is beautiful to say the least! There are activities abound suitable for families, couples and children. Movies are screened by the beach side at 9.30pm for those who love being under the full moon.

The hotel pool at the Hilltop offers the most stunning vista you can imagine, with the formations of the rocks in the distance that offers similarities to Ha Long Bay but in a much more luxurious setting.

We were disappointed with the speed and service of the staff for all the times we dined at the Six Senses. The staff, though friendly and eager, often were flustered and did not seem to fully understand our orders. The first night we had mixed orders and very long waiting times. And for a family trip with 4kids, that was not the best combination.
The second time we dined, we were again disappointed because not only was the food slow to serve, the waiting staff had taken the wrong orders and were not able to tell us what dishes when it arrived nor who were the ones who had ordered it; everyone had their dishes arriving at a different time and we weren't able to enjoy dinner as a family. In the end, both my husband and myself never had our food served despite waiting for an hour plus.

The general Manager Jordi knew about what had happened and recovered quickly by making arrangements for us to dine once again in the manner and taste that is expected and associated with Six Senses and perhaps even more. Apart from the initial disappointment during dinner, Six Senses Yao Noi is the perfect getaway for the weekend or even longer! Guests should also take the chance to travel to Krabi, Koh Samui etc from Yao Noi instead of to&fro Phuket mainland.

We have no qualms is recommending friends since we know they will definitely LOVE it!

Room Tip: If you are nature lover, ask for the Hideaway Villas set in the Jungle where you can see water buffa...

My husband and I honeymooned at this Six Senses location in August of 2012 and it was a dream. From the moment we stepped off of the high-speed boat, we were greeted by a team of people who made our stay wonderful. We spent 8 nights there and loved every minute of it. Our Great Experiences Maker (GEM) was very attentive and made sure we were well taken care of. We did as much or as little as we wanted to each day. The food was really great and never felt like we were getting the same thing over and over again. We also participated in the cooking classes and purchased some excursions, which we would highly recommend.

Thank you for the review posted and for the beautiful photographs. All our villas are quite similar, the Hideaways face towards a plantation, mountain and do not have the Ocean view, but they come with great value. Our Ocean views have amazing views with added amenities. Our Ocean views do come with a premium but as a lot of reviewers have stated, it's worth the money spent. Of course amazing views are possible from the beach, Hilltop reserve lounge and swimming pool and the Bar.

I look forward to your return.

What I love about this fantastic luxury hotel is that it's as exclusive and private as you need it to be. When we wanted to be alone in the villa, we could be. When we wanted to be social, we socialized in the lounge area or went island hopping. Gorgeous.

Room Tip: Not sure what the options are, but we had a one bedroom villa and the outdoor space was huge. Plunge...

Thank you for the lovely feedback. The charm of the place is also exactly what you stated. Privacy, hideaway, getaway feel and yet loads of fun and excitement. It's up to you which window you would want to open and when..... or let the butler decide.

Best regards and look forward to your return.

This year is a very tough year for me with sickness in the family. I could not go away on oversea trip so I decided to spend extra money for just two nights at Yao Noi. And it did a perfect job to help me relax and feel good and ready to be back to real world again.
I picked "the View" room. It has no pool like other villa but it has the most stunning panorama view of the sea.
Everything at this resort is perfect from room, service and food. It's pretty expensive but I think it's worth the heavenly experience you will get.

I'm glad you could get out of your illness and the blues after visiting Yao Noi. The 'View' villa is quite a special villa. In-fact we have a wonderful package going on for it now. It's intimate, perched up on the edge of the mountain, it has an amazing views. One feels like living in a nest with the most amazing view in front.

Look forward to your return.

All those wonderful images you imagine of a luxury island resort in the Andaman Sea is what's embodied in Six Senses, Yao Noi. The experience begins when you arrive at Phuket airport - a busy mecca of travelers coming to these shores from all over the world. You are met and escorted to a van, who then whisks you away in about 45 minutes to a marina, and onwards to the hotel's launch for the hour or so boat ride to Six Senses. On arrival you are met by your personal even coordinator who checks you in, gives you an orientation, as is basically at your disposal for anything you may need (think reservations). Ours, unfortunately, left a whole lot to be desired...

The resort is well spread out over numerous acres cascading from a hill onto the ocean. The view is of the limestone formations in the distance (imagine 007 or the Beach) which are easily accessible by launch or long tail boat. Despite the generous size of these bungalows, we were required to book a 2 BR to accommodate our young daughters. Ours had a partial ocean view, pool, outdoor salas, indoor and outdoor showers, etc., and was conveniently located between the main dining area (restaurant, library, bar) and the Spa. We would have been delighted except the AC (which operates only in the bedroom areas) worked intermittently and temps hovered in the 90-100F with as much humidity. Windows open not much of an option as mosquitos where also an issue, despite the daily eco friendly fumigation. By comparison, you could have used a down duvet in the kids room (where I eventually moved to after 3 sleepless, sticky, nights). Management and engineering 3 times assure that AC was now working, only to again not. Unexpected frustration in paradise with resort fully committed.

Activities abound... several tours take you to these limestone formations where you can snorkel, swim, or just relax in your own castaway beach. You can also hang resort side by the beach - they project movies al fresco at night - or schedule a day of pampering at one of the best and most beautiful spa's in the world. Too hot for us for tennis, bicycling, or anything that did not involve jumping into the beautiful green-blu, bathtub warm, crystal clear water.

As for food, breakfast gets my vote. Aside from the "to be expected" stations, Six Senses has it's own bakery with freshly made baked goods and home made jams all contained in its own structure. They also have a self contained larder with cheeses, meats, and fruits. Best of all, they have an ice cream bar offering "free" treats from 7 to 7, so you know where the kids (ok, adults too) were heading as we stepped back from a day's excursion! Dinners are good, but can be a bit fuzzy (for us with kids, less so as couples) as the service is relax and (can be) inconsistent. For us, the best meals in beach resorts are the simpler, farm to table, variety accompanied with a nice cocktail and wine.

Except for the sleepless nights due to lack of AC, I would highly recommend Six Senses for families and couples. The setting simply cannot be beat, with wonderful opportunities to do as much or little as you want.

Room Tip: Worth renting the resort's speed boat to tour Phi Phi. Long tail boats are also great for closer...

Thank you for the feedback and information regarding your stay. I'm glad you overall thoroughly enjoyed your stay with the exception of your air-conditioning. This is indeed an exception and not an example of the comfort level of our lovely villas. I am aware of this even though it was quite some time back and of the compensation made to the family. Our team goes through intensive checks, audits and training to make sure our guests have a wonderful time. We are proud of being the highest in TA scores in Thailand and do try our best to make sure our guests smile more when they leave.
I look forward to your return.

We had a pleasant stay at the Six Senses Yao Noi.
The Hilltop Villa, I must mention, is absolutely breathtaking. It really feels like heaven on Earth and that alone is well worth the visit.
Staff was very friendly, yet it sometimes felt like not properly trained. This one time we asked to order food by the Hilltop Villa and were told it could not be done. 5 minutes later another couple got their order and the staff came back to us telling it was ok if we wanted to order.
Food as an overall was very good. We had some of the best thai food ever.
Our villa was very nice but quite frankly I now learned I am not by any means enthusiastic of an open bathroom and open closet - a lot of lizards I must say.
