“A fabulous retreat”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 14, 2012

The most wonderful place and in such a fabulous location. The bungalows have so much character, whether the spectacular views of 'garden' bathrooms. The staff were wonderfully friendly and helpful, although the dining staff need just a little more guidance. Well done Tom for such suitable attention, without being overly friendly.

Sitting in the pool with the breath-taking views was such an amazing experience, whilst strolling along the private immaculate beach was so special.

We unreservedly recommend this to anyone, whether families or honeymooners.

We loved it so much..

Room Tip: Go fro the bungalows...wonderful

5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 28, 2012 via mobile

I stayed at the resort with 3 friends in August 2012. The location is absolutely superb, on the beautiful island of Koh Yao Noi. The food, whilst more expensive than in Bangkok, is absolutely delicious (which helps when you are a good half hour's walk from the nearest restaurant), and the breakfast, included in our rate, very filling.
We stayed in a family villa - very romantic, with walls on the side, open at the front with roll-up shutters, and a beautiful outdoor rain shower.
It is so relaxing to be able to fall asleep to the sound of the sea.
The service is exceptional, even by Thai standards. Regina and her deputy Tom go the extra mile to make you feel at home, and all the kitchen and bar staff are attentive without being constantly on your case.
If you need a break from the hustle and bustle of Phuket, this is the place for you, whether you're a couple in love, a family, or a group of girlfriends.

Spent a week there early this year with the family. Had a wonderful time. Beautiful resort & area. Was exactly what we wanted with very friendly staff. Definitely to be recommended.

The boat pickup was not cheap, but made a wonderful start & end to the holiday.

A couple of notes: The rooms are rustic / natural (some creepy crawlies in the open air bathroom). The hotel is also isolated, the best way to explore is either Kayak (free from hotel) or scooter (can be rented from hotel) which might not be to everyone's taste. Both of these items however added to the charm of the place for us!

Room Tip: Older rooms / huts nearer the restaurant looked better.

Dear Guests

Thank you very much for taking the time to post your review. We are delighted to hear that you enjoyed your stay and I will pass on your kind comment to the team.

I am also happy to hear that you enjoyed your experience by arriving by our traditional longtaill boat direct to the resort. It has proven to be a very popular choice amongst our guests.

The open air concept of the resort sometimes does invite small visitors, but I trust you were not disturbed as it is unavoidable on some occasions, although we are doing our utmost to keep unwanted visitors outside.

Thank you also for pointing out the availability of complimentary kajaks and mountain bikes available in the resort, as well as the opportunity to rent a motorbike. It certainly is the best way to explore the charm of the still unspoilt island of Koh Yao Noi.

Thank you again for your kind comments and we hope we have the opportunity to welcome you back to the resort in the near future.

My partner and I spent 15 nights here in July 2012, which is very out of the ordinary as most only stay a few days. The new General Manager had a brilliant impact in the time we were there, which coincided with her starting and I think the resort has a wonderful future with her at the helm. I would say though that the Thai food was too tuned to a western palate for my tastes and unfortunately the owner arrived with an entourage taking over most of the place whie we were there and managed to destroy the peaceful harmony we discovered when we arrived. You are in the middle of nature though and given the island setting things like luke warm water in the shower have to be expected, so it might not be to everyone's tastes. That said we would have extended another 5 days if Thai Airways had let us!

Room Tip: Room 16 is the Sea Breezes suite pictured on the website, note is is above the Spa and next to the r...

Dear Guests

Thank you very much for taking the time to post this review and a personal thank you for your best wishes. We are delighted that you enjoyed your stay with us and I will forward your kind comments to the team.

Together with our new resident manager, we have now been in the resort for a few months and have had the opportunity, with the support of our owners, to review improvements in various areas. I am pleased to advise that the menu has been improved, so hopefully on your next visit you will be able to feel and taste the changes.

We do sincerely appologise that you and your partner felt temporarily disturbed but hope that the overall experience was still peaceful and enjoyable. Your recommendation for our Sea Breeze Studio No 16 is very much appreciated.

Thank you again for your kind comments and we hope we will be able to welcome you back in the not too distant future.

5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 19, 2012

Our family of 4 including adult children aged 18 and 13 spent 3 nights in a Family Villa at Koyao and we absolutely loved it. Unfortunately it rained the whole time, from our boat trip from Phuket until the morning we left when it stopped long enough for me to take a few photos with the sun shining.
This place truly is paradise. Once you leave Phuket, you leave behind the hussle and bustle and head for total relaxation. The scenery is just breathtaking and you just cannot help but relax from the moment you step off the longtail boat and take the few steps to your beachfront villa.
If you are looking for nightlife and action this is not the place for you.
The staff were all so friendly and helpful. The villas were just amazing, huge indoor/outdoor bathroom and all villas are completely open at the front allowing you to take in the magical views all day. All the essentials you need like drinking water, tea & coffee, moquito spray, torch are provided in your villa.
The day we hired motor bikes the rain was torrential but still got to explore the island a little which was great. There is a 7/11 and a few shops about 20 minutes drive from the resort and there are quite a few small restaurants, shops, bars and massage shops nearby.
We did a half day long tail boat to Hong Island which I highly recommend. The island was just gorgeous and as it is only 20 minutes from the resort we arrived there before anyone else and had the whole island to our selves.
We found the meals and service in the restaurant to be great in fact as we were only there 3 days and it was raining so much we ate all our meals there. A few other guests ventured next door to Evason and raved about the food.
There is wifi available in restaurant and bar area which was handy for the two teenages especially when there was so much rain. A few rainy day activities such as a cooking class or a billiard table would have been handy.
My only criticism would be with the showers. I realise we are on an island but the shower pressure was really bad (just a trickle) and the water was luke warm - definately not hot.
I also have to say that the day spa seemed very expensive. It looked absolutely gorgeous but I did not see one customer the whole time I was there. Maybe if they offered a daily special or a reduced prices slightly guests would be more inclined to use this lovely facility.
Overall beautiful island, fantastic resort and facilities - highly recommended.
Tip- Longtail boat trip takes about and hour and half from Phuket but only 45 minutes to/from Krabi

We thorougly enjoyed our 4 day stay at this delightful island resort. Starting with the hour long tail boat ride from phuket, we loved the views of the limestone islands and were delighted to be dropped off at our own beach front villa. Entirely open to the beach that was only 50 meters away, our villa was traditional but met with all our families needs. I loved hearing the sea lapping every night. The staff were extremely helpful, the pool and beach were fanastic, the facilities were fine, my family all used the day spa facilities, the views were to die for, and best of all we were only a short walk away from the exclusive six sense resort phuket - where we dined every night!
Loved this place and would certainly recommend this to younger people and families.

Room Tip: Just don't go in July/August/Sept as this is the wet season!
