I travelled in Dec-11 with my wife. We had a pleasant stay in this hotel. The best part about this hotel is its proximity to the outdoor theme park. Rooms were OK but didn really matter as you spend most of the day enjoying the beautiful weather of Genting.
Complimentary breakfast is good. It needs improvement for its vegetrian spread.
Overall it was a good stay.

Except the quick check-in, there is nothing good to write about Theme Park hotel. The biggest drawback is that the hotel has just 2 restaurants- one serves sea food and the other serves chinese fast food. So being vegetarians, we had to go to an Indian restaurant (Spice Garden) at Maxim's Genting hotel for every meal. The outdoor theme park is right next to the hotel, so we lost our sleep due to the irritating sound of the rides. When the weather got too cold, we called up to check if heaters are available at the hotel to warm the room. The hotel staff replied that we should have brought the heater from our house if we are so particular.
I would suggest people to stay at Maxim's Genting, Highlands or Resort hotel, even if the tariif is more expensive.

We have just spent 2 nights staying here, and we would not return. The room was a good size, but very dated. Firstly in the bathroom the shower curtain was full of mould as was the grouting around the bath and sink. The plug for the bath wouldn't stay in, so you were only able to use the shower. The lighting was very poor especially if for us ladies who wish to apply make-up. The towels were very thin and very small, especially the smaller of the two, I don't have long hair but couldn't wrap it around my head after showering.
There were only two sockets in the bedroom so when ever you needed to use something electrical you had to unplug the fridge, then of course remember to plug it back in again (we forgot the last night and found at 2am that we didn't have a cold drink).
The bed was ok, but the pillows were very flat. There was no double glazing on the windows so you could here all the noise outside throughout the night, especially the motorbikes so we didn't sleep very well. Also no WIFI is available in the room you couldn't even pay for it. Breakfast is a buffet but apart from toast it was pretty poor and tea or coffee was served with condensed milk so we didn't even bother. The whole hotel is noisy and very tired looking, and we most definitely felt like a number rather than a welcomed guest, we couldn't wait until this morning to get home for some peace and quiet.

Room Tip: Choose somewhere else to stay, but the whole of Genting is mad and noisy

Just came back from Themepark hotel, we were there for Modern Talking concert. As Arena of Stars was just next to Themepark hotel, it was just perfect for us.

1) Checking in and out not an issue (unlike First World where we had to wait for few hours)
2) Assessible to other hotels, restaurants, casinos in Genting as it's all linked and with escalators
3) Room is clean with basic amenities, it's enough for us as we were out most of the time to enjoy the cool air. Size of the room is acceptable.
4) It's next to themepark, so for those with children this is the nearest hotel
5) 2 restaurants in the hotel, as I mentioned earlier you can go to other hotels for meals, it's all within walking distance.

Whenever we go to Genting, this is our preferred choice of accomodation.

An incredibly average hotel, with low quality rooms, no wi-fi (paid or free), no facilities and you've to pay for everything.
When we went there, we found a dirty room with nothing inviting. Settling in, we saw plug points, which has those thin slots and not the usual round ones, which we were used to. On asking, we had to rent those special converters at around RM. 10.
The TV has nothing to show and lack of amenities, make it a pain to stay indoors, if you're not in a group.
Luckily, we got amazing cold weather, and as the hotel has an amazing view, we got to see rainy, foggy mountains, which were amazing.
An outdoor theme park, an indoor theme park, kids gaming centre, shopping, Indian restaurant are all within a good walking distance, from the hotel.

A few tips:
If you don't have the adaptor the room needs, you can buy one at the hardware store opposite the hotel, for under RM. 10. Ask at the reception for details.
Plan in a group. It's a small place with very little to do and you'll be bored with less people.
Get a good 3G plan, on your local no. here's no internet there.
Carry a good camera. The locales are really pretty. I had an iPhone and my others had a BlackBerry. You can guess how they felt.
You've to pay for everything there. Carry change.

Room Tip: Ask for a good view. Make the best of what it has.

We went to Malaysia in Nov. 2011, I stayed in Theme Park Hotel for 2 Nights and my experience was quite good.

First good thing was we got the "early check in" as requested. We were very tired after traveling and with in minutes we got the check in.
Secondly we got the room facing Theme Park Rides, although it was too foggy, but It was..

*Very less number of vegetarian food options in breakfast, in fact I found bones in pulse(yellow) that afraid me a lot.

I hop management should take care of vegetarians in future ;)
