“Small room and the inside looks cheap, no wifi...”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed March 15, 2013

can't believe these days Internet is not availabe in a big hotel like this? no Internet today is equivalent to "no pen no paper in the 70's", and that means, no communication to the outside world. Internet is very important today and should be provided in every hotel on earth free of charge. other than this, the building and nearly facilities are a bit run-down, not as nice as you see in the advertisment. we stayed in a standard room and it is small and cheap. two plastic cups are provided for water. toilet is tiny. we come to Kuala Lumpur for the first time and quite disappoint overall. Bangkok is far superior to KL in terms of service and price and quality. in Bangkok, people give you smile, in Kuala Lumpur, people give you ugly look.

Forunately, my friend won nearly 2000 RM at Genting casino. but he told me that he still prefer bangkok over KL and won't visit KL in the future.

what do you espect when you pay low price for big hotel in the most famous tourism place? i've stay here for 5 days & 4 nights. yes the service are not so good, the room quite small, even the bathroom are very tight.. but the location on the top of the shopping mall and very near to the theme park & night life make me wanna stay here more..

im very satisfied and sure will come again here..

Room Tip: don't singing or making noise when u take shower.. people walk outside ur room can here u..

Traveled with kids and this hotel provide the basic necessities for us. The location is a big win as you don't have to think of trouble going back to the hotel late at night as it is practically attached with the indoor park.

The room is pretty small for a double. No Wifi available. There is not much of a view from our room as it is facing another hotel block. The receptionist was also not very good in giving directions. Would be helpful if maps were provided.

My wife & I was offered a complimentary 2 night stay in a Standard Room at First World Hotel & 2 free tickets to a 3D Movie (The Spider) by Genting Highlands in February 2013. It was a pleasant surprise as neither I nor my wife are frequent gamblers at this highland casino resort in Pahang, West Malaysia.
The Standard room given free to us is reasonably clean & comfortable. It has a scenic view of the surrounding moutains enveloped by clouds. The air is cool (temp almost always falling below 10 degree C). For those who do not gamble, they can take a slow morning walk around the resort comprising of several hotels, casinos & theme park. Children may enjoy themselves either in the indoor playgrounds or outdoor theme park. Adults can spend their time in the video arcade or try their luck at the casinos.
The highland casino & resort also offers reasonably priced food (local & overseas cuisines) & several fast food outlets. Their buffets (lunch & dinner) are also inexpensive especially for elderly visitors where generous discounts up to 30% are given. My wife & I need to spend only less than S$300 (equiv US$ 240) for the 3 days trip. The bulk of our expenses go to transport (return luxury coach fees - Singapore/Malaysia) & food.
This is not the first time we have been offered free lodging, movie or live show & sometimes even free meals by Genting Highlands as member of Worldcard members (membership is free for all Malaysians & foreigners regardless of whether you gamble or not).
I am looking forward to their next free offer.

Room Tip: Most Standard rooms face each other. So do ask for a room facing the mountains rather than the oppo...

Stayed at the First World Hotel Genting during from 6 March to 7 March in the deluxe room.
Was given the free room for my birthday . Thanks to Genting.

Room was quite spacious and clean. However, I think the housekeeping was done in parts as there were some amenities missing like slippers, shower curtains which were only filled later in the afternoon.

Limited channels on TV.

Rooms were clean and the pillows this time were soft and fluffy, not the paper thin ones I used to get. Overall an good and relaxing time in Genting.

The self-service check-in was super fast.

Breakfast at Coffee Terrace was good except that the Ipoh Hor-fun smelled a bit funny.
Selection was good but be there early as we reached there at 9 am and some of the selections seemed to have disappeared. Would have preferred breakfast at Maxims though.

The cafe opposite Coffee Terrace serves excellent sandwiches and super-sized Milo Dinosaurs and has al-fresco dinning. A very good deli for tea.

Room Tip: Get the self-service check-in and you will save lots of time at First World.

Booked and prepaid for two nights but forfeited second night as did not want to stay there. The rooms are very worn and run down and we stayed in a club room. No air con although this was not a problem at night as it was quite cool. We were on the top floor facing the theme park and the music was deafening outside until 2am and then continued inside until 4am. The volume of people and thousands of hotel rooms and people just made the experience unpleasant - not sure what else to call it. You have to take a number just to check in and the service is like automated robots. No charm or pleasantries. The theme park was good value and the Highlands pretty with the mists but won't go again.

Room Tip: Don't face the theme park
