“Lovely setting”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 13, 2014

This is a great setting
Toilet block is kept clean
Bins never emptied
And just seems to be a bit money grabbing .
I.e. euro for 6 mins in shower
2 tokens for cinema on smelly beanbags

It needs a bit of fine tuning but generally we had a good wkd

Arrived at hidden valley with friends for a day of fun and this is what we got
From the owner giving me a note to pass on to the very helpful lad at the gun range
Giving us a few free shots
Very helpful and his knowledge of guns was educational
The girl on the bungee swing
The lads on the zorbes
The lovely fella at the kayak
A great team all together.
Had a great chat with the ownet before we left a very nice man
Thank you

Cant park beside your tent so had to lug everything past other tents, etc. Nightmare. Tents all up on top of eachother, no privacy at all. All the extra activities for one or two tokens had us broke and only lasted a few minutes each time. There were a lot of people drinking & laughing loudly late into the night. I wouldnt go back here. We've been to other sites since that were lovely in comparison.

After looking at the website and reading reviews i thought this place looked the business.
Sadly first impressions last.I booked into the park over the phone taking advantage of their 7 night for the price of 6 after being told that they wouldn't hold a spot so i could pay by cash on arrival.
The tent pitches are all between small 2ft hedges
I have a very large trailer tent and when i arrived i was concerned that my tent wouldn't fit.given that i had paid for a week i asked my wife to see if we could get a hardstand as they were longer.I was told no!!(because of the maybe weekend campers!!!).
The owner arrived and told me that they had never had a problem in the past and very condescendingly said"you have put this up before".I am a regular camper and have set it up many times which is why i was worried. So i pushed the hitch into the hedge and set it up sideways on the pitch and i had about six inches to spare thank god.
The site itself is nice and the bathrooms are clean. The showers are 1 euro for just 6 mins which is a bit stingy i felt as my wife had to spend 2 euro every time she planned to wash her hair.
I arrived on a thursday not all the park was open in fact it appears that the paid for stuff was only open at the weekends.one of the slides on the hill was closed the whole time and a notice suggesting that you go down them on sacks was surprising as there are none provided.purchased a milkshake at the onsite burgervan type shop and it tasted like milk with a very slight hint of strawberry. The cinema was open once while i was there i think.
On a positive note there is a lovely waterfall on the lake which you can hear all the time which is nice.there are 2 nice playgrounds for the kids. The bins were always full and in my time there didn't seem to be emptied once.
Another family on check out day were running a little behind to the tune of 30 mins and were told by the owner that they could pay 10 euro for a day pass !!!! I have never left a campsite on time and i in my years camping heve never came accross this.after the weekend campers left my wife informed me that half the cubicles in the ladies were locked(so they wouldn't have to clean them).there is an overwhelming feeling of stingyness and trying to save a buck which is a shock to me as it is one of the higher priced campsites
I have to say that my overall opinion was one of disappointment and as a direct result of the manner of the owner i have to say that i wont be returning.......take my advice and go to westport house instead

So! After staying in Camac Valley, and the Allie River Camp Ground in Doolin'... The bar was set pretty damn high. However, the guy who runs the grounds is very nice, and informative. The downside, all around the camp ground was a little dirty. The river had trash floating in it, and behind the washing station was riddled with liter... The bathrooms were kept nice, and the grass area for camping was nice as well. Now, I didn't explore the activities of the park, I was just there for sleeping. Also, I thought it was lame they charged for me to boil water on their stove set up. All in all I would stay there again, but the liter was a downside for sure.

Went here last bank holiday weekend. Stayed in one of the cabins. Very nice. 2 bedrooms, a bathroom and kitchen/living area. Excellent facilities such as kayaking and peddle boats around the lake, playgrounds, soccer pitch, archery and cinema nights for the kids. There is also a fast food place to get burgers, chips etc, sweets, crepes which opens till approx 10pm. Only thing missing is a bar for adults. Would definitely go back.

Room Tip: Get a log cabin with a bathroom. Other cabin users must use communal shower area. Dont forget to bri...

Lovely facilities, you'll see that from other reviews. But... It's supposed to be a family friendly holiday park with quiet time from 11-8. It's 1:45 in the morning now & the scumbags in the tents beside ours are still up drinking. Several people including myself have asked them to be quiet, I was laughed at. There are no staff to deal with the situation at this time. If you're looking for a relaxing family holiday with your family don't go here.
