This is a very nice hotel with well-appointed rooms and great staff.
The rooms are spacious, with dark wood floors, light walls and furnishings, and the bathrooms are finished in Carrara's famous white marble. I had a corner room with windows on two sides looking out to the sea. It had a spacious balcony, although I didn't make use of it during my wet February visit.
The breakfast was excellent - it's a standard continental spread, but the ingredients and produce were a lot better than at many of the other Italian hotels I've stayed in. Other hot breakfast options were available for a surcharge.
The hotel boasts of a Spa - it's in the basement and quite compact, with a hot tub, rain shower and steam room. It's very nicely finished, but it wouldn't fit too many people in high season and there's not really anywhere relaxing to lounge other than in the hot tub. It also came as a surprise on checkout that there was a surcharge for guests using the spa, I think 15 Euros. I hadn't seen any notification in the room that there was an extra charge.
They also have treatment rooms on the ground floor, with a (very good) 1 hour massage costing around 60 Euros.
The staff were very friendly and helpful, helping with my vast amounts of luggage and equipment, and pointed us in the right direction for good nearby bars and restaurants.
With fast, free wifi too, it's a very nice place to stay if you're in the area.
