“Good Hotel with Perfect Location for Gibraltar”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 22, 2013

The Asur hotel is a perfect location for visiting Gibraltar, just a ten minute walk to the border.
Check in was very efficient and our room was extremely comfortable and clean with a magnificent view of the Rock. We had booked a high floor for the view as recommended by previous tripadvisor visitors and it's definately worth it. The hotel car parking also very efficient and reasonably priced at 7euros per day in a secure area.
Breakfasts were fine, lots of choice and more than adequate. We ate out during the evenings trying out a few of the numerous great tapas bars.
I would certainly recommend this hotel for Gibraltar, rather than queueing up by car to drive across the border.

Room Tip: It is worth paying extra for a room on a higher floor with a view of the Rock

spent 2 nights here enjoyed it . upgraded to junior suit for 10€ which was great lots of room and terrace overlooking the sea. the facilities were good, bed comfy and all clean and tidy and the wi fi worked well! The location is great for Gibraltar 10 minutes walk to border. food was ok breakfast pretty standard But good value. On our second night it was pouring with rain so we ate in at the new restaurant Raffiellos on the ground floor not very busy only a few guests but the food and the service was excellent it is a very fine Italian restaurant. over all a very pleasant stay well recomended

Repeat stay at this hotel because of its proximity to Gibraltar. Didn't eat in the hotel as food was terrible last time. Check in was quick & efficient. Car parking good. Worth booking a room high up for view of Gibraltar. Room just ok as some of the lights not working. Requested extra pillow which was delivered. Free wifi which was improvement from last stay. Best thing about this hotel is its location close to the border.

Room Tip: Higher floor with view

Good views of rock & marina if you so for sea views. 15min walk to Gib & a stroll to good cafes which make it tempting but won't be back!. The place left me luke warm to cold just like the temperature of the food (the food is functional, not worth the money & a disappointment is you are on holiday... even told where to sit each meal which made me feel like a kid!). The hotel is clean, contempory, no fuss & I would think best for business users. We stopped 3 nights & wished we hadn't, the bathroom great, but the beds are rock hard & air con is rubbish...spent 1 day trying to sort out air conditioning & despite helpful staff & an offer to change our room it made no difference.

Location is good, about a fifteen minute walk to the Gibraltar border. In the heat you will probably then want to catch the bus from the border into Gib town centre. Its also close to plenty of nice restaurants in La Linea.

Reception is nice looking, and the staff on the desk are really helpful and friendly. They speak both english and spanish.

There are no frills in the room - no bottled water, no tea or coffee facilities. Old style TV. Air conditioning isn't very effective.

There is an Italian restaurant on the ground floor and we had a wonderful evening meal there.

Late check-out is available for a fee, which is handy if you've got a late flight.

The hotel breakfast is a buffet in the first floor dining room, and its not very good, to say the least. The coffee machine is poor, I tried a variety of coffees and they were all pretty dire. The juices are weird. The food is very poor quality, and looks like it has been hanging around for a while. I think it was this that made me violently ill later on the second day of our stay. I strongly recommend not paying for the breakfast. There are lots of cafes around where you will pay much less, for a nicer breakfast, cooked fresh to order.

The pool is tiny, a bit slimy, unheated and only catches the sun for a short period during the day..
