“Fantastic time at the Iberostar”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 13, 2009

We just returned from our stay at the Iberostar (Jan.2-9)
I travelled with my husband and our 3 children (16, 12, 8).
I cannot say enough about how friendly the Jamaican people are at this resort. From the moment we arrived they did not want us to lift a finger, they had everything under control. The grounds are beautiful and well kept. The hotel itself is beautiful, marble floors and wide open views to the sea, the pool and the grounds.
We did not try any of the a la cartes, but the buffets we great with plenty to choose from. The entertainment staff worked hard to make your stay enjoyable. They knew your name and that made a great impression on us. We went zip lining, what a thrill!!! The vensdors who are off property are abit too agressive, but just be polite and they get the message. All in all, we had a great stay and I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone who appreciates feeling like you are truly among people who know you and care if you have a good time.

This was the best all inclusive resort I have stayed at yet! Immediately a great feel when you enter the lobby. Up to date appearance with polished marble in the main lobby and surrounding areas and well appointed with nice furniture. Very helpful staff. Overall, I would say the best part is all the activities. I went scuba diving, sailing in a catamaran almost daily, and windsurfing. I also used the gym facilities which were well maintained with two treadmills, an elliptical, 3 spin bikes, a whole weight circuit. The food was also absolutely amazing, even the buffet had things like perfectly done bacon-wrapped filet mignon, fresh lobster cooked in front of you, crab, salmon, and several other great meals. The other regulars on the buffet menu were also excellent, and they had a good assortment of Jamaican things like jerk chicken and west indian curries. The drinks were also great. The servers made all kinds of complicated drinks without batting an eye. Most importantly, everything was kept very clean and the facilities were well maintained. I can't wait to go back.

We just returned from spending two weeks at the Iberostar Rose Hall Beach Resort. The resort is relatively new and much larger than expected. The staff is AMAZING and friendly. Shout outs to the entertainment team - Crystal and Natalie (aka "Big Mama"), water sports - BJ, and all the meal servers, Ruel especially.
We had an oceanview suite that had a king sized bed. The room was really good, there is no clock in it (lived it up by Jamaican time mon) but that's totally okay. Air conditioning and fan worked fine. Bathroom was really nicely laid out, the showers were great! The restaurants are all great, the Cajun and Japanese especially. The buffet always had different arrangements every night so you weren't completely stuck with the same foods every night. We've stayed at a lot of all inclusives but this one was the best, the food quality was amazing.
The pool was quite cold though, I didn't go in much, once you got in it was quite refreshing but they need to have a heated area at least. The beach is pretty nice. We were there right after hurricane season so there were a few pieces of coral washed up, you just have to watch your step. Saw a few cute fishes. The water activities staff are really good, we went parasailing twice and snorkeling once. Dunn's River Waterfall is 100% worth the drive and price.
Some people were complaining about it but ignore them! There weren't any pool tiles missing, everyone was always busy doing something to make the hotel better and very helpful!

  • Liked — The staff, the rooms, the location (15 minutes from airport!), EVERYTHING
  • Disliked — ... not too much. the lobby is home to a few mosquitos, the pool could have been warmer.

We just returned from a 5 day trip to the Iberostar in Jamaica and I have to say it was one of the best trips we have had! I have been all over the Caribbean and I was so impressed by the people of Jamaica. They went out of their way to be helpful with anything we needed and were very friendly. The Iberostar is a beautiful hotel and very clean. Our room was nice and had everything needed. I thought about spending the extra money to stay at the Grand Rose Hall and I am glad I didn't. There wasn't much difference in the hotels except the Grand had more restaurants.

The food was very good for an all inclusive. I have had my share of poor food (Dominican Republic!) and I was pleasantly surprised, it all had taste! They also have top shelf liquor which was a nice addition and my husband liked the Red Stripe beer.

We golfed at Cinnamon Hill Golf Course which was absolutely beautiful. You have to have a caddy which I wasn't sure about but, he was really kind and helpful. We also went down to Hip Street to shop and went to Margaritaville and had way too many margaritas but it was fun! Ask for Winston for a cab driver from the hotel, he was awesome!

Ivan & Carole ( from Spain )
This was the second time we had visited this Hotel. The 1st time we were a bit disappointed BUT decided as it was new to give it another try.
This time we stayed at the Suites.
We are glad we did ! We arrived in Nov 08 & stayed for a whole month & could not fault it at all.
Everyone treated us like Royalty & we had a great Holiday.
ALL the staff were great & work very hard.
We are going to book again for July 09 for our Wedding & again for our Christmas Holidays as we liked it so much.
We would recommend this Hotel to everyone.

Stayed November 2008

Booked the Iberostar Rose Hall Beach as it was new and had good reviews (we also wanted to experience this management company's resorts as we have been to many AI resorts). It is a beautiful resort and the rooms were very attractive (the king size bed was lovely) with nice features re black out curtains, lots of TV satellite channels, large closet, nice furnishings, no extra charge for safe, with ocean views & nice balconies and stocked bar fridges. The shower/tub was a bit odd - not sure how larger size people would take a bath? But the rain showerhead was very nice. When you requested extra towels, pillows, tolietpaper, etc., no problem! Also resort had elevators and the resort is well laid out and not too large to get around. In the bars, liquor selection was very good and the drinks in some cases were very strong (over proof); food was excellent and with lots of choices in buffet (steak house was good). All staff were hardworking and polite and friendly. Arranged (at the foyer's excursion desk) a private driver/car and travelled for the day to see the sights and also took the excursion for the boat to Dunns Falls. This is a very different type of resort regarding outdoor amenities as theatre, front desk/lobby, bars and restaurants (except the pool bar and the steak house/snack bar) are inside and air-conditioned. Also the fig trees on the beach (which are good for shade) are tall so they block out the beach/ocean views from the pool areas. However the price was good for the amenities and also non-stop flights are a bonus - never has Jamaica been so affordable! PS I am a travel agent :-) so share the love of travel!

  • Liked — rooms and balconies and ocean view
  • Disliked — front lobby or bars are not open air and tropical

We stayed at the Rose Hall Beach Hotel from 12/5 to 12/10 and had a wonderful time. This was my 5th trip to Jamaica. I previously stayed at Sandals Royal Caribbean twice, Sandals Whitehouse, Couples Ocho Rios, and Holiday Inn Sunspree. The food at Rose Hall was very good - with something for everyone. You will not go hungry. Drinks were plentiful and rooms were average. The beach was pretty, but not the best. Water shoes are needed. We enjoyed the nightly shows. The entertainment team tries very hard to please. I must say that the staff here excels at making visitors welcome. They went above and beyond to ensure we had a very good time. "Hello" to Nancy and Rosemary from Connecticut who we met at the Japanese restaurant. We enjoyed your company and had a lot of laughs together!
