“3rd trip to Jamaica”

My husband and I went here to Rose Hall second week of January. We checked in around 1:00 in the afternoon. Our check-in went fast, and our room was ready. Room was ok, our refrigerator hardly worked at all, drinks were not cold. Hair dryer did not work in bathroom. We complained about these 2 things, and they sent someone up to fix "the day we were leaving". We really didn't need the dryer, and we just went to the bar for cold drinks. If you walk outside on to the balcony and shut the sliding glass door it automatically locked. Thank god my husband was in the room, I would have been stuck out there! Food was pretty good...Wish they had shrimp and lobster, just fish. My husband loved the fish. We hung out at the lobby bar alot. Garth and Wayne really took care of us. The shopping at the resort was stinko. We were told to go to the Rose Hall grand to shop, but the shopping was worse there. At the end of the property past the dock and security guard are the locals huts... (stores) They sell alot of things, and they all need the sales. I believe in supporting the locals. Hook up with Jason, hes the man! We hired him for a day to go to St. Annes for some of the best sea glass picking on the beach. All in all I would go back to this hotel. Linda in Pa.

We had an amazing stay at the Iberostar Rose Hall Beach resort, the hotel was clean and the staff we terrific!!! I felt very much like a 5 star guest! The food was absolulty amazing all the restaurants, with lots of food choises to suite every pallet. We didn't bring our kids on this trip but we will for the next one for sure as there were many activities and options for the little folk.

I just wish to let anyone booking at Iberostar Rose HAll JR. Suites Beach front how crappy it was we spent over $5000.00 to go there thinking we would have a dream vacation it was horrible. The rooms were fine the hotel was very nice BUT had so many rules! As for the Ocean it was full of garbage slimmy film in the water never very inviting. I am a total beach person it was digusting.As for alacart resturants we could not get in any the 1st week we were there if you were a wedding they had first pick & reserved the steak house every nigh then we were told we could only have 4 reserved dinners for our stay.wish we had gone back to Couples Negril treated way much better!! So we had to eat at the Buffett every breakfast lunch & dinner the first week there every thing was cold all the time!! We pd far to much to have to eat like this. As for the mini bar 2 bottles of water every 2 nd. day & could not get bottled water at any bar!! 3 cans of beer every 2 days we do not drink soda or beer we asked for a bottle of wine or a bottle of vodka they said they would look into it never heard back from them asked a few days later & said we could buy a bottle for $30.00 i do not call this a mini bar again in Negril a full mini bar gave you what ever you wanted!! They customer service girl was very rude to me I wanted to cry I was so upset.Our air never worked went to front desk twice about it it finally got fixed the day before we left. So on a 10 days stay we ate ate the buffett 9 times for a cold dinner! pretty sad for the money we paid.So if your planning a wedding you should be taken care of other than that you are a nobody! Would not go back & will not recommend the slimmy beach! Also we were told they had a lazy river we were not aloud to use it !! Only the suites I sure would like to no how much anyone pd to stay at the suites compared to what we pd? to use the lazy river just another disappointment when I asked the front desk about it they said it was our travel agents fault it is on the web site but does not list restricksions! I researched this hotel with great reviews I will never trust the reviews again.

We do apologize for the inconvenience you experienced while visiting our sister properties. Please note that although the guests of the Beach property are not able to use the services and amenities of the Suites and Grand property, we do offer site inspections of the properties for our guests.
However we sincerely apologized for the sea grass that was on the beach, though we try our best to ensure that our beach are clean on a daily basis, depending on the tides this becomes challenging at times. Besides we apologies that you were not aware of our steakhouse beach gril,l that we have open throughout the day until 6 pm, as well as our room service that is available from 11am to 11pm. For dinner we have three a la carte restaurants that you can choose from besides our main buffet that is opened from 6:30pm to 10pm for dinner.

Kindly accept our sincerest apologies for the inconveniences you experienced with the room, once we are aware of any housekeeping or maintenance issues, we try to correct them right away. We would like to reassure you that this is not a true depiction of our standards of operation thus; you can rest assured that the corrective measures have been put in place to prevent a reoccurrence of the situation mentioned.

We hope that when returning to Jamaica, you will give us the opportunity to host you once again, as it was indeed our pleasure to have served you.

Ok first things first , The resort has beautiful grounds, absolutely spotless, everything was soooooo clean. Marble floors, lots of trees, sand, water.
Ok, the check went pretty smooth, we got to check in to our rooms early. After that you have to make reservations to the restaurants with guest services who was pretty attentive. The rooms were a good size, super clean but compared to the public areas I think the rooms could have been a bit more higher end anyways I'm not complaining it still was nice, our room was 1224 had a view of the pool and ocean which was excellent. The sleep quality was great it was never to hot in the rooms like people complained and also didn't mind the lights and ac units turning off after you leave the room as the hotel is very Eco friendly. That is one thing that I lived about this place that they were very Eco friendly big ups to that.
The food was pretty decent. Different varieties of food served at the buffet, make sure you eat the fruits, amazing especially the sour sap. Made reservations to the steak house and jambalaya. They both were good. Just had a little issue at the teak house, I had to wait like a hour for our food and after I questioned it to a supervisor she immediately without investigating it she attacked me saying that I didn't wait that long which I really did, but wasn't gonna let that ruin my trip.
The beach was perfect, lots of shade, trees, beach chairs, not verily crowded, and also I walked the whole beach including the suites and grand side without being questioned by security as other reviews have stated. There is also a night club at the suites every night. The nightly shows at the theater were terrific I enjoyed them, the girls at the kids club were amazing. If your reading LIYANA SAYS HI AND SHE STILL DOES HER CHICKEN DANCE. Absolutely wonderful they really made my daughters stay great. Shout outs to dean, Garth, tadine, John wayne and more...the employees really want out to enjoy your stay. They also have a taxi stand outside which was convenient make sure you still negotiate with them. And book your tours at the resort next to the front desk, I found it cheaper then to pre book them in advance.
Check out was a bit choppy, they tried to charge me 90 dollars for phone calls. She i only made2 phone calls and talked for a minute a piece. After being accused again before investigating the supervisor came out looked into it and seen that it was a error with the computers. The problem with this place is that they blame you first before trying to figure out the problem. And also remember Be happy with what you have because if you ask for more you will be disappointed. Great hotel will definitely be back one love

we just got back from spending a week at this resort. it is a great place to spend a week in the sun. food was exceptional. met some amazing people. the hotel is managed very well . and the weather is always fine in jamaica. we would go back to this resort for sure.

Just returned last night from a 4 night stay. great timing as we missed the blizzard at home:)
Here is my breakdown
Room- We had a ocean front with a balcony. The room was very clean. The shower ROCKED! Rain head and lots of volume. The bed - if you like a firm/hard bed you are in luck. We don't. Room tip - Get at least a 2nd floor room if you want view. The first floor rooms have a solid 4foot wall. No view of the ocean unless you are standing :(

Beach - Lots of chairs. But we went during a slower time. The staff/entertainers try to get people involved in the different activities but are not pushy about it. There is bar service on the beach. No flag to raise so you have to just wait for the girl to come around or just go to the bar yourself. I saw quite a few folks with big cooler mugs that they would get filled.

Food. There is nothing bad about it. The buffets had lots of fresh salads , breads, all different types of meats and fish.The Jerk Chicken is very good.
The restaurants - Cajun - ok nothing to knock your socks off. Same thing for the Japanese Hibachi place. It's ok. It was better than I thought it would be. If come from somewhere that has good Japanese or Cajun you'll know what I mean. We did not try the Steakhouse. TIP! make reservations as soon as you check in! You are only guaranteed 2 reservations for a 4 night stay.
It is a BIG resort that does have that feeling that if you swapped out the staff you could be on any tropical beach in the world. It is a big safe place. Even the locals that show up in the morning and evening on kayaks to hawk ganja and local art (beads and carvings) play by the rules. The do not come up on the beach. You have to go to them.

So now to the negative. Wifi is a joke. It is only available in the lobby/bar area. It is pitifully slow. I never got over 250kbs (yes k not M!) So don't even try to view a video or dl/ul a large file for work. The kicker? YOU HAVE TO PAY EXTRA FOR IT!
$2 for 30 min
$4 for 1hr
$6 for 2hrs
$20 for 24hrs
$75 (or 70? ) for 7 days.
It is annoying in that you have to wait at the main desk. Wait for them to break oout the big book,you pay ,then they give you a slip of paper with a USER name and PASSWORD that will only work for the specified time period.
It is annoying and the staff ,although always pleasant are constantly interrupted in what they are doing to handle this. I was told by them that they really wished they did not have to do this any more.
I was amazed that in this day this multinational hotel company would still be stuck on this paradigm.
So except for the Wifi issue this is a fine resort that delivers what they promise.

Room Tip: If you have an ocean front room. Don't get the 1st floor. No view.

i went to this hotel april 2012 its very nice well kept but is boring me and my family went and all i want to do is sleep and eat they need music by the pool and swim up bar its like a retirement home it should be nice like the way it look when the rain fall u cant get out your room the water is all over the walk way the afraid of turning on the lights in the hall way the food is great the settings is fine but just boring and they need to clean there beach every mornng it full of trash and sea weed for such a beautiful place i expect more
