i visit the Half Moon seagrapes restaurant on a regular basis with my family, the last visit i made was last March, the service was not great and the staff in the restaurant were unhelpful, however i decided to go back again for a lunch with my family. from start to finish i was disappointed. i hate to complain but really feel that the standard has slipped considerably from two years ago. first of all the wine that we asked for was out of stock, they only have three or four white wines and the next one up was $56.00 per bottle for a Pinot Grigio that would cost $15.00 at a store, once it arrived it was warm and had to be chilled for ten minutes. my husband ordered fish & chips, normally one of the best items on the lunch menu, however what arrived (after an hours wait) was a piece of processed shaped fish cover in a soggy suet batter. my Fathers Caesar Salad has processed Parmesan on it and soggy croutons from a packet and my roasted vegetable sandwich on Foccaccio, and although tasty, the bread was very old and crumbly. the bill arrived at $274.00 for 6 people, only to find that they had charged me for Grey Goose vodka at $15.00 per shot instead of the absolut i ordered at $8.00 a shot. nobody seemed to care that our food took over an hour to come and i really think that for a supposedly world class hotel, the restaurant has no place there.
