“First time in Jamaica, Loved it.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 16, 2013

I went to Jamaica in 2011 for my honeymoon. So I am late entering this review. I loved this hotel. There hotel offered several programs to participate in each day. I especially enjoyed the history of Jamaica tribute and the dances on the beach in the evening. The hotel has a good variety of restaurants to choose from and the drinks (although watered down) were always flowing. The rooms were spacious and clean. We had a garden tub and walk in shower in the bathroom. The room had a balcony, with side view of the ocean, a seating area with couch, chairs and tables and a kind size bed. We did not stay in the room alot, we enjoyed just seating out on the beach. I would definetely go back to Rose Hall Suites if I decide to go back to Jamaica agan.

My husband and I have just returned from the most amazing holiday ,staying at The Iberostar Rose Hall Suites in Jamaica. We couldn't fault the hotel at all. There was a great choice of restaurants with something to suit everyone's taste. The rooms were cleaned daily and the turndown service at night was a nice touch, with chocolates left on your pillow. The pool and beach area were spotless and the staff were great ,nothing was a problem for them. While we were there my husband and I renewed our wedding vows for our 25th anniversary .We emailed Nicole from Scotland who arranged a minister for us and had a lovely service on the beach .Nicole even took some lovely pictures for us. We would like to thank her very much for this as it was very special for us both. The beach barbeques were great with the Jamaican Steel Band playing. We loved the clear water of the sea it was so nice to swim in and lovely and warm. We would definitely recommend this hotel .We also done the YS river falls tour it was a great day out .We will hopefully be back again.

Room Tip: we were on the third floor overlooking the beach. It was a great room with air conditioning too.

Visited as part of a wedding group of approx 25 people. Really liked the location, as it was close to Montego Bay and the airport, and also within good proximity to Ocho Rios to visit activities.

Service - generally very good, although the resort didn't appear to manage rush periods very well, like the weekly arrival of a large number of check-ins, or dinner-time rushes for room service orders. Housekeeping and maintenance staff were all very friendly and professional, as were the servers and entertainment staff.

Rooms - Rooms are large and well appointed. Service and maintenance requests were attended to reasonably quickly. Nightly turn-down service was appreciated. As several others have noted, the rooms can smell a little musty.
Our group all booked Ocean Front rooms, and really enjoyed being able to look out over the ocean. Most of the rooms will pick up some noise from beach parties, which are held either by the resort or as part of wedding packages. The hotel does keep these to a reasonable hour, about 10:30 or 11:00 at night

Food - Large buffets, with plenty of choice, and good selection. Lots of opportunity to try local fruits and foods. Specialty restaurants seem to have only one seating, as there were often many open tables even when we'd been told that the restaurants were fully booked.
As others have noted, room service is very slow, although the hotel might be trying to improve this, as they did know when my food was sent out from the kitchen. From that point, it took almost 45 minutes to get from the kitchen to the room, and was stone cold. The hotel did try and make amends by sending up a fruit plate, a second burger and a bottle of wine, which was sent up almost 5 hours after the original order was placed.

We very much enjoyed our stay at Iberostar Rose Hall Suites, June 30 - July 6). We were four adults and two children (ages 9 and 10). We have been to 2 other all-inclusives in 2 other countries and found many things about this resort that pleased us. At first, upon arrival, we thought perhaps the property might be "too small" for our stay, but that was not the case. We found plenty to do, lots of areas to relax (with shade), and appreciated how easy it was to go back to our rooms or go to the restaurants. Our rooms were the nicest of all 3 resorts we have stayed at - quite lovely and of course very roomy. While we do not stay much in our rooms, it was a treat to have them be so well-appointed and spacious. The public areas are lovely and elegant (again, the best so far in our journeys) and your grounds well tended (lots of hardworking people that we saw doing that), as were the public restrooms. The food was comparable to our other resort stays (good but not outstanding), with the exception of our French restaurant night. That was the best all-inclusive resort meal we have had - extremely well done in a quiet atmosphere. We deemed the beach the best of all as well (although I never blame a resort for nature - such as seaweed which we have encountered previously). As a result, we spent more time in the ocean in Jamaica than any place else. Of course the most important factor is people. We never encountered anyone on the staff who was not gracious and helpful. Never forget that food, shows, drinks, activities, spacious grounds and lovely pools will not make a resort successful unless they have the right people. I want to mention Mr. Green at the front desk as one of those "right people" and Dianne who waited tables at breakfast during our stay. Even when we could not be seated in her area, she would come to check on us when she noticed we were there (being acknowledged is great customer service). Three minor complaints. (1) Not enough kayaks (in fact, there were unused kayaks because there were not enough paddles); this would not be huge expense to keep guests happy, since the time for that activity is so limited due to winds and weather and dive shop hours (perhaps the hours could be extended to 5:00 pm). (2) Please add conditioner to the amenities in the shower! That is pretty "SOP" in hotels worldwide and not finding any is a surprise. (3) We missed our annual wading at the edge of the water at night. I appreciate safety concerns, but other resorts have not precluded our walking in the water at the edge of the ocean on a lovely night. (The security person was nice about this, but it was disappointment.) A great stay – pricier than some of our past outings, but we would return.

Dear guest,

On behalf of the management and staff at the Iberostar Rose Hall Suites, I would like to thank you for choosing Iberostar to spend your vacation and also for taking time away from your busy schedule to leave behind such a pleasant review of our lovely resort.

We are truly thrilled to know that you appreciated the various facilities and amenities available to you while you vacationed here with us as well as the friendly service delivered by our devoted staff. We will share with both Mr. Green and Ms. Dianne that they have helped towards making you feel like stars during your stay.

We do regret hearing about the lack of paddles for kayaking, we will be sure to inform the respective manager about this. As it relates to the conditioner being an amenity, we would like to inform you that conditioner is already an amenity provided. The shampoo that is provided in the showers is a two in one product; it contains both the shampoo and conditioner. I am sure our security officer had your best interest at heart in prohibiting you from wading at the water’s edge on that night; however we sincerely apologize for any inconvenience caused as a result of this.

With your recent stay at Iberostar being such a wonderful one, we are confident that you will return to our beautiful resort.

First time to Jamaica...first time in an Iberostar resort....loved both! What a great destination!

Spent the week of July 6th to the 13th on a mother/daughter (18 years old) vacation. We both came back very happy with the whole trip and we both will return to this location.

1. LOCATION: Hotel is close to airport (about 20 minutes).
2. STAFF: simply wonderful, respectful, friendly, always smiling...
3. ENTERTAINMENT: just enough (not all day...just certain parts of the day at the main pool and on the beach!) - Disco at night is really good. Lobby bar is nice to before and after dinner.
4. FOOD: food is very good...good selection of restaurants (gourmet, mexican, steak house, japenese, mediterranean) in addition to the buffet which is also very good. Lunch a the main buffet or the beach place is very good too.
5. ROOMS: Very nice room (quite large with sitting area and nice balcony) - very clean - confortable beds.
6. SAFETY: the resort area is very safe with garded premises.
7. SPA: Very good selection of treatments ( We had the Blue Mountain Coffee body scrub and a massage )...Divine!!!

All and all...our trip was a wonderful trip and we will definitely go back to Jamaica and to the Iberostar Rose Hall Suites.....

Nathalie

Room Tip: ROOM 4126: We were on the second floor (out of 5) and we had a nice ocean view even though we were...

We have been trying to do a extended family vacation for years but could never coordinate between everyone's work and school schedules. This year we made it happen. We traveled with 4 families, 14 of us ranging in ages from 15 years to 52 years. We each made our own reservations and tried to link them up so our rooms were near each other. They weren't able to do that. Our kids room ended up near my sisters on a different floor in a different wing. Although they aren't little, I really wanted them at least in the same section of the hotel. When I went to the front desk that evening by the next day they were able to move them to our wing. We all had a great time at the Rose Hall Suites. The property is part of three hotels..the Suites, the Beach and the Grand (which is couples only). Personally I thought the suites were the nicest. It has a beautiful infinity pool with swim up bar and also another pool set up for volleyball. My husband decided to stop at the dollar store before our trip and get some blow up lounges and would recommend doing that. We had our own floats and it was perfect for both the ocean and pool. We never had a problem getting chairs around the pool but if you want o get some in the shade, head at early and put your towels down. The food at the buffets were very good with enough variety for us not to get bored. There are also a la carte restaurants, which you needed reservations for. We tried the Steak house. Mediterranean, Mexican and Calabash Gourmet Restaurant. The Gourmet was our favorite. We made reservations for two nights before we arrived but didnt have a problem making the others when we arrived. Although there are less choices on the weekend. The month of June, lobster is on the restricted fishing list..so note no lobster on the menu (the replace it with shrimp or scallops). For the buffet, by the second day our table for all of us was always ready for us. The staff were all welcoming and friendly. Orlando at the front desk always said hello to us by name. A special shout out to Simone at guest services. I had my Ipad with me when I took the complimentary shuttle to the Rose Hall Shopping area. When I returned it was gone. After returning to the shopping area to retrace my steps as well as finding the shuttle and searching it. I was sure it was gone. I had even checked with security, the transportation desk and well as front desk. They said no one turned it in. We decided to file a report for insurance records and Simone was the only one to go the extra step and make a call. And guess what, a guest from Canada at the Beach had found it and turned it in. Unfortunately they had checked out before I could thank them in person, but if they are reading this, Mihaela Poppa, thank you, thank you! They have entertainment by their Star friends. They are always around, entertaining during the day, have great dance moves and also perform in a show in the evenings, There are nice tennis courts that some of us used everyday. Although we have Cruised before and loved it, our vacations usually have sightseeing involved. My hisband and I weren.t sure if we were going to make it through a whole week of relaxing but by the second day floating, cocktails and food were definitely a good thing! You have to take a cab if you want to go anywhere off property, its quite a way from town. We did go to The Rose Hall Great House for the night ghost tour, which everyone enjoyed. Also we took a cab into Montego Bay for the Craft Market which is an exoerience. (Cab prices are per per person). Would definitely recommend the Rose Hall Suites. Don't forget the sunblock..that sun is hot!

Room Tip: Our room was 4409 which had a beautiful view. It was an end room but it must have been above the Di...

We came here for a friend's wedding. The hotel room was clean and nicely furnished. The 24 hr delivery service states your food within 30 minutes but ours took 1.5 hours (I guess everyone got the same idea we did at the same time). When we did receive the food it was hot and fresh. The food was full of variety and excellent at both the buffets and the a la carte restaurants. The only thing I found challenging was that you had to make reservations for any of the a la carte restaurants and that you had to book a few days in advance for some and others you needed to book on a same day only basis. When we went to our reservations, the restaurant was consistently half empty and yet they couldn't give us the same time slot as our other groups of friends so we ended up just crashing the restaurant and getting seated with them anyways regardless of the time slot we got. This resort is kid-friendly with a miniature water slide park as part of the daily kids club (our room was beside it so we were always hearing kids' laughter and shrieks in the morning. The beach is in excellent condition with plenty of lounge chairs and grass hut shades. We never had problems finding one at any time of day. There's also a snorkelling site right off the beach. There were no huge rocks in the shallow waters like in some other beaches (just make sure you shuffle your feet in the water because there are stingrays especially closer to the rock break). Access to the pools in the spa are free for all guests and are worth checking out if you like to spend time in the sauna or the 5 different pools. There are two identical sets of these rooms as well as a wellness pool with heated tile lounge chairs that are great to relax on. The male/female entrances are a bit misleading in the spa area. Either gender can enter either side to access either set of pools. It just refers to where the change rooms are located. The disco at the resort was quite fun to go to at night. The DJ played lots of great songs to dance to which made it very hard to get off the dance floor at times! Overall was a great experience and if I come back to Jamaica I will be definitely staying here again.

Room Tip: If you're a light sleeper ask for rooms away from the pool areas and especially the kid's cl...

Dear guest,

First of all I would like to thank you for choosing to spend your special vacation here at Iberostar and also for sharing with other travelers your review of your stay with us.
It is indeed thrilling to hear that you enjoyed your vacation and we are pleased to know that you found our facilities to be to your liking and you had an overall great experience here at the Iberostar Rose Hall Suites.

With regards to your room service order taking an hour and a half to be delivered to the room, we would like to assure you that this is not a true representation of our standards of operation or the typical experience of our guests but nonetheless we apologize for any dissatisfaction, we will notify the respective manager. It is a pleasure to know, however, that despite its late arrival, the food was hot and fresh, and you were able to enjoy the other food and beverage delicacies we offer in our restaurants. Thank you as well for pointing out the amenities and services you were able to use, and your satisfaction.

Nonetheless, we are thankful that this did not tarnish your vacation and genuinely look forward to welcoming you once more to Iberostar Rose Hall Suites in the near future.
