I hate to say this but we were a little disappointed, considering we have stayed several times at different Iberostar’s. Three years ago we stayed next door at the Suites with our two kids, we loved it. We thought moving to the Grand would be even better. Both resorts are identical, even the placement of the restaurants which the food is comparable. The staff at the Grand is excellent, very friendly. When we arrived we were told we had a room with our own pool, when we went to the room they were doing construction right outside of our room. We told Natalie at the front desk, she asked if we could stay in it for one night because the hotel was sold out. We said no problem, we spent the day at the pool (bar) had dinner called it a night. The next day they changed our room to 5401, fantastic, overlooking the pool and ocean with a double sized deck. The specialty restaurants are ok, the buffet is substandard, not what I expected from the Grand. The buffet at the Grand in Mexico is better than any specialty restaurant than here. If I could make any suggestions they should have reggae music maybe even a live steel drum band by the pool during the day and more waitress/waiters on the beach and by the pool. The entertainment by the pool is the same every day, volleyball, horseshoes and zumba. . If you don’t mind having kids around save your money and stay at the Suites. We love Jamaica but think the Grand is overpriced for what you get.
