I was there from 2/18 -2/27 with my mother and the place is one of the best all inclusive's, I have been to. From the minute you walk into the resort, it feels great. The staff are wonderful, they all have wonderful attitudes and will help you with anything you might need. The buffets were Awesome, their is a wide selection and allows you to have what ever you want. Every day, their was grill lobsters, shrimp and crab! The specialty restaurants were okay, It seemed as though they were always short of staff, since I had to wait several times for drinks, bread and not even getting what I wanted. The best one was surf and turf. I emailed the concierge in advance and made all of the dinner reservations, however the dinner buffet was great as well, their was a chef grilling what ever steak you wanted!
The star friends who come and engaged in you doing different activities are wonderful and are not pushy. They love their job and can't do enough for you.
The rooms are beautiful and so clean. The resort is cleaned all day long, I never saw a BUG! they even have someone all day long just cleaning the bathrooms by the pool! Their is also security all around and will not allow anybody in the resort if they do not have the proper band. And on the beach, since its Adults Only, they do not allow children from the other resorts to walk onto the beach where we are! And it is silly only to have wifi in the lobby, everybody was sitting there with their phones or ipads! kind of funny! but it was also great when the cell phones weren't ringing at the beach or the pool, it was much more relaxing and peaceful. We met a lot of really nice people on the beach, except for one who told me I should move my beach chair so he can have a view of the ocean!!
The chair saving is the worst, and people put their towels out at 7:00 am and do not come back for hours, like the gentleman was reserving 8 chairs on the front row of the shaded huts and said he came done early to reserve the chairs and that I shouldn't be in his view with my chair in the sun blocking his view since he came down early to do this chore!! The guy honestly was off of his rocker!!! I did complain to management about this happening, but she really didn't have a resolution, and told me I should call down within an hour and ask the towel girls to save me a chair, which I think is the same behavior as all of the others who think they are special!
Other than this exception, the resort is wonderful and would not think twice about visiting again or going to another one of their resorts. Others were saying that the Riveria Maya and Punta Cana ones are unbelievable!
So go and enjoy this place and you just have to understand before going about the chair saving issue.
One more thing, they have music every night at the lobby bar, and shows every night in a real theater! they also have a beach night show, which was fun too! The drinks were the best, top shelf, and you should bring singles to give tip. At first, I thought why should I do this when I am paying so much for this resort, but the employees really work hard, so I just joined in and did it as well. In my opinion, tipping should not be allowed in a resort as expensive as this one, It seems as though the employees work harder for you once you start tipping them , which should not be happening.
I also know that the staff looks at these reviews because I saw them reading them, so if you read this, the two things that would make your resort exceptional would be:
1. strict enforcement on your policy on chair saving
2. tips should not be accepted by employees.
Thanks for listening, and overall one of the best places I have visited.
I had oceanfornt, but all of the balconies seem to face either the pool or the beach.

Thank you for sharing your review on this website. Although we read reviews, we also encourage guests to speak with our Managers while being in-house if they have any issues. After all, we believe in satisfying the guest before he/she has left. Unfortunately, guests do save chairs and though we discourage the practice, it still happens. As we said in previous reviews, as soon as the items used to hold/reserve chairs are removed, another guest does the same thing. Since the holding of chairs is a problem in most resorts, you can imagine this hotel is no exception. We encourage guests who observe that chairs are being held for long periods of time – could notify the Pool Concierge who would assist in removing those items for you to get a pool/beach chair.
As it relates to tips, if a guest does not want to tip – he is free not to tip staff if he so desires. We want guests to feel comfortable and not feel obligated to tip. We assure you that our staff give the same level of professional service whether or not they are tipped.
We are grateful to hear that we had met your high standards and hope that you will not hesitate to return.
