“Great choice, great value!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 2, 2013

This is a great place to stay while enjoying Imbassai. The owner, Habu, speaks German, Portuguese and English and is energetic and helpful. Our room was spacious and nicely decorated with 2 comfortable beds (one with a mosquito net), a small table and chairs, a TV console with shelves for clothes and a nice bathroom with a lovely stone tile walk-in shower. We also had our own hammock on the shared veranda.
The breakfast buffet was delicious with fresh fruits, juices, pastries, eggs, sliced meats, cheeses and good coffee. And even though we were there in the slow season with only a couple of other guests, the buffet and tables were fully set up each morning with beautiful blue tablecloths and plenty to eat. It was delightful to sit outside on the large veranda eating breakfast and watching the river and the many colorful birds that were flying in and out of nearby bushes.
You are only a block from the center of town and a 10 min walk from there to the beach. And if you need a break from the surf and sand, you can relax in Vila Imbassai's pool which is spotlessly clean and surrounded by greenery and palm trees. We had the pool to ourselves for a very peaceful morning, although that might not be the case during the high season.
This is a great choice for your visit to Imbassai and it checked all our boxes for a good value and relaxing stay.

great location, near the beach and river, shops and nicest restaurants. The owner, Habu, speaks german and english and is always around to assist and help. Clean and cozy rooms with mosquito net over the bed, sattelite TV, verandah with hammock with a view to the river. The inn is surrounded by trees and you can see monkeys and birds in the yard. Clean swimming pool. If you're too tired to go out for dinner or lunch, order Maga's moqueca de camarão (typical bahian food with shrimp), a must!

What a find this was. This place is absolutely recommended. Great location by the river and close to the beach. Quiet at night and set in a beautiful garden with a very clean swimming pool. The rooms are spacious and spotless with a nice veranda with hammocks. The breakfast is plentyful and delicious. Staff professional and always there to serve you with a smile. The guy running the pousada is a lovely person. Habu, that is his name, went out of his way during our stay in Imbassai. He truly is there to help and never to busy for a nice chat every now and then. We truly enjoyed his company and staying at the pousada was a lovely experience. We give a 100% thumbs up to Habu and Pousada Vila Imbassai.
