“A groovy cafe in a not so groovy area”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 3, 2013

A groovy cafe open for breakfast and lunch. Great western meals which you sometimes want for breakfast after being away for a long time. The owner Jason makes his own bread and bagels and the food is delicious. The menu can be changed, which for Asia is unusual as most are set. The pancakes are to die for. They have the best coffee in Penang and believe me we have tried many cafes here for coffee. A must!

“this is where you can get the best....”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 20, 2013

My favorite breakfast in Penang is at Gusto's! A homemade bagel, with the BEST bacon I've tasted yet and eggs! Totally hits the spot! Where can you get the best iced peach tea? Gusto's. Best homemade barbeque sauce? Gusto's. I can't seem to stop ordering the Happy Burger for lunch because it's the best deal in town for a juicy burger with a slice of pork on top, some excellent tasting potato wedges and again, the best iced peach tea on the island for only 10RM! The only slight downside is that it can be a little hot but you will always be greeted with a smile either from their workers or the owner himself! If you haven't been ... it's totally work checking out! Yummm, I just made myself hungry again, I definitely need to go eat there again soon!!

“The RIght Balance of Heart and Art Attack”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 20, 2013

I make a half-yearly pilgrimage to Penang. Will stay a minimal of a week in the island.
Naturally, breakfast is never a knotty decision - we (wife in tow), hang out at Gusto's.
Food is excellent, ambience is awesome.

We're spoilt for choice - the best part? The signature meals are parallel (in every good way) to exacting standards of world class cuisine (minus the astronomical costs associated with up-market restaurants, of course)

Gusto's exudes an aura of simplicity, yet, the quality of a sincere meal hints of a copious investment of love, care, quality and skill injected into it.

All in all, IMHO, for all my fellow travel-bugs, when in Penang, do what the Penang-ites do.
Go grub at Gusto's.
It should be in everyone's bucket list

“Great food!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 19, 2013

I go to Gusto Cafe fairly regularly for lunch, and every time I'm there it's great. I usually get the happy burger which is a great deal for RM10 with a drink. Also, the breakfast is excellent too! I recommend the waffles with raspberries and ice cream!
