Lidiana is located in a small food court directly opposite the "Floating Mosque" in Tanjung Bungah - this was our first meal there, and it will certainly not be our last..Lidiana serves authentic Malay "nasi campur" (mixed rice), which is easily found all over Penang
What sets this restaurant apart is the selection of ulam (raw herbs) and kerabu (herbal salads), the fried fish (principally pomfret) which is so crispy that you can eat the whole fish, and the stuffed fried terubok (shad) which is stuffed with a fresh sambal
this stall is ridiculously popular and the influx of patrons regularly causes serious traffic jams in the road leading to the food court
service is excellent - tables are wiped clean promptly, and when informed of my wife's shellfish allergy, the serving staff were quick to alert us as to which dishes contained prawn/belacan etc
We had a large grouper fish head curry, which was a 1/3 of what it would have cost in Kuala Lumpur
its worth having an early lunch/brunch to avoid the noon crowds as this food merits a leisurely meal to be fully appreciated
