“Perfect Getaway..”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 12, 2013

Small Place but yet so many things to do when you are in Nainital, Located around 280 Kms from National Capital , It is a perfect getaway .We Reached there on a cold windly Thursday of December 2012, The Moment you reach Tallital you tend to forget the fatigue of Journey , Just by the first look of the Lake .
Best Time to visit - I would say Anytime is best time for Nainital other then Rainy season as land slides are common.
Best place to stay - Depends on choice if u wish to stay closer to the lake then , Many options all along the Mall road , If you wish to stay on top and overlook the valley with lake then Hotel Arif Castle and others are good , we opted lake view room of Arif Castle.
Leave aside your Car in A ground called "flat" as most of the travel with be either on foot or Horse Back . There are many places to visit such as China peak , Camel's Back , Snow View (Cable Car is available up til this point) Hanuman Gadi Observatory , Thandi Sadak , Mall road ,
All in all Great place to visit with minimum 3 days at hand.

“Amazing”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 2, 2013

This is the main attraction of Nainital, The boating is cheap and really enjoyable ride of around 45-60 minutes. Try doing it during sunset when sun has almost set and it about to get dark. The view you will get of lighted nanital is superb.

“Lake with a experience”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 28, 2013

We had visited three lakes during our trip namely Bhimtal lake, nakuchiatal lake and naini lake

Naini lake is by far the most happening lake.... Great view around the lake. Boating, shopping, snacks corner, temples....

Also around the lake the whole nainital is situated. It was a great experience

“Sole attraction of Nainital ... not to be missed”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 25, 2013

If I say that this lake is the sole attraction when you are in nainital, I won't be wrong. There are few other things apart from the Lake but everything is pretty much around it. Naini lake is really beautiful surrounded by mountains on both sides. On one side you would see the hustle bustle of mall road and on the other side its the quiet mountain and scenic beauty, while you are boating. Boating would be one thing I recommend. You will have options in terms of paddle boat or the other shikara like boat, depending on your energy level and who you are with (friends or spouse), you can choose. There is no question of bargaining because you have to buy ticket from the ticket counter and you don't have to pay anything directly to the boatman. Depending on the time of the year you are visiting Nainital, this lake can be too beautiful or not so enchanting because the area is not so big to accommodate large crowd. So if you are going in the peak season you may not find it that attractive as all you will get to see is people all around you, boating in the lake, walking on mall road. However if you go in the so called off season you will be able to see its beauty at its best.
