“Hotel with character, great location, impeccably clean”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 15, 2012

Please DO NOT BELIEVE the critical reviews published below. The Tivoli is in an ideal location a couple of minutes walk from the town centre but on the edge of a beautiful mountainside park with streams running down which leads to open countryside. It is wonderfully quiet spot and the rooms are light and airy and bathrooms are spotless. Although the owner is a little diffident and reserved he is far from being the figure cast in other reviews. We found him friendly, helpful and courteous. All I can say is that if people turned up at half past ten without the courtesy to ring ahead that they were unavoidably delayed, they deserved what they got as their late arrival would disturb other guests. The hotel has great character being an 18th century villa once occupied by the Duchess of Berry. The current owner has spent ten years renovating the hotel himself from a neglected state and has produced a wonderful place to stay. It has so much more to offer than an Ibis or other 'chain', but if you don't like people and places of character, then you should go to one of these on an industrial estate. A memorable visit!

Room Tip: Rooms facing the car park are marginally quieter, but all are peaceful. Some rooms are at the top of...

A pleasant stay in a peaceful location . The owners were helpful and welcoming. Our room was clean with an attractive layout. The bed was very comfortable. The gardens are lovely and close to the town although you feel as if you are in the countryside.

First hotel I have ever been to that I can say I wouldn't return to. Very poor bedroom and bathroom facilities, (peeling paper, curtains didn't fit, small towels.....) and I am sure I have been bitten too! The only plus was the bed was comfortable but no headboard!!

Can't really comment hotel as we didnt get to stay in it. But did look a bit run down We arrived at the pre booked Le Tivoli at 10.30 pm.Ok was a little late but we were refused our rooms. What hotel does that to their guests. We managed to find a hotel 30 miles away.Cheap and cheerfull F1 but glad to get our heads down. They couldn't do enough for us.We turned up at 1.30 am and didn't have any trouble booking in.
As for le Tivoli don't turn up late.

Absolutely disguisting. We had booked around 1 month before, when we arrived at 10.25pm after riding since 7.00am on our motorcycles we were refused entry by I guess the owner or manager. The most arrogant and unhelpful person I have come across on my travels.. I would strongly recommend finding another hotel in the area, we had to ride to Tarbes after finding fuel because we were in the dark and running low on a Sunday night..Finally got to bed at 1.00 am in an F1 hotel..

I was pleasantly pleased with the exterior of the hotel and the welcome we received, but after the first cleaning of our room an expensive makeup product was stolen from my overnight bag. We also noticed that we had been bitten by something in the night and continue to be bitten at home.

Don't hesitate to stay at this hotel. The service is excellent, the owners are kind and gracious and the location is next to a park and easy walk to the center and the spas.. The city is great to explore. The Saturday market is a foodies delight.
