“Food, wine and a bit of history in SW France”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 19, 2012

My son and I took this 3 hour morning foodie walking tour of Sete in mid-October 2012 and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The well-organized tour included visits to the local central market, an oyster bar, cheese shop, bakery, wine store and much more. There were samples and tastings at every stop and all are memorable.
I wish we had taken this tour at the beginning of our stay rather than the end since we would have liked to have returned to visit several of the stops again. I think I could have spent 3 hours in the market alone. And the oysters! One was not enough.
Nancy has done a great job in creating and guiding this tour. Highly recommended and well worth the cost.

“Sete walking tour”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 11, 2012

My boyfriend and I had a lovely day in the charming French town of Sete. Nancy took us around local shops where we met local shop keepers and sampled their wares. If it was not for the tour we would not have got even half the knowledge and experiences of local shops and businesses that we had with Nancy's explanations. Thoroughly enjoyed ourselves, and the wine tasting towards the end was the best bit! I would encourage those going to the South of France to try this tour, we came from Montpelier and it was easy to get the hotel where we had to meet.

“A good look behind the scenes of Sete's culinary highlights”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 3, 2012 via mobile

The charming Mediterranean town of Sète offers a multitude of different bakers, pastry shops and produce sellers, which is great for anyone wanting to sample the local cuisine. But without any local knowledge it is still possible to miss out on some of Sète's highlights and the history behind them, which is where this tour fits in.
Although it's not the cheapest you'll ever book, it is well worth considering, whether you're just in Sète for the day, or staying a little longer. Having been a resident for several years, tour guide Nancy has obviously established good links with local traders, who will proudly welcome you into their premises, invite you to try their wares and tell you all about them.
There's plenty packed into the three hours, from sampling some of the largest fresh oysters you could imagine - and learning how to shuck them if you're feeling adventurous, tasting a few slices of local delicacy tielle (a kind of pizza pie with a surprise ingredient) and trying some of the region's finest wines while munching on Roquefort and fresh bread.
So if you want to feel as if you've got to know a little more about Sète, it's people and it food, rather than simply passing through passively, give this tour a go.

“The Very Best of Sete, France”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 25, 2012

Nancy is the best tour guide we have ever had! She takes only a very small group to many different shops & we got to personally hear about produce, cheese, wine, bread, pastries, etc. We learned how to shuck oysters. This was a fun & informative tour & Nancy's friendliness & knowledge made the tour absolutely perfect. I cannot recommend Nancy highly enough to anyone traveling in the south of France.

“This should be the first thing you do!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 17, 2012 via mobile

To truly enjoy your stay in Sete start with Nancy's tour, My husband, 2 adult daughter and I enjoyed every minute of it. We were able to meet and visit with the most gracious and genuine people we have met in our 3 week tour around France. Understanding the history and traditions of this town give you an appreciation that you couldn't get by exploring on your own.
Nancy will only take a group of 6 so the touris very personal. We can not recommend it enough, and will come back again!
